Morning all,

A lovely sunny spring-like day here in Oxford - makes the highlights in my blonde hair shine!!

If I could guarantee that foregoing my hairdresser and leaving my locks to go grey/white I would look like Emmylou, then I would do it!!

Anyway, in terms of Blonde songs, it's hard, obviously, as a blonde to use my brain for anything that strenuous - and suspect that the early birds must be using 'Lyric search' websites, which I did once but was told off by my IT guy as it downloaded nasty spyware..blog poppets you have been warned!

So all I can think of is 'Leggy Blonde' by the excellent Flight of the Conchords - but think it may not be suitable for R2, plus although I do have legs, being a diminitive five foot-ish oject to their heightist aspersions....oh and of course would like to 2nd, 3rd or 4th Rod's 'Blondes have more fun'!

Gosh, I have missed you all.



I have worked the last 12 days straight and am totally pooped. The sun is shining so I have decided to take a well deserved day off (ok, so I don't get paid as a result but whatever) and plan to be at one with the garden and my book.



Project 1 went live on Friday and Project 2 on Monday. Remarkably few issues. For those that are interested, go to BBC News, the Business section and then Your Money. There is an article about a new financial advice service. I did that. Not the article, but the service. Some companies take 2 years to rebrand - we did it in 6 months. Phew.

Katy, sorry to hear about the delay to your op. My sister has recently had the same experience so I know how frustrating it is when you have prepared yourself for it. Sounds like you are enjoying the respite though!

It's Wednesday today! Which means it's another edition of 'Act Your Age' - and tonight's broadcast is the one Alex G, Mr B and I went to. Clashes with Drivetime, but I'm looking forward to going onto ithingy later on. It will be VERY interesting to see which bits they cut...

#65 and #81 Peter Skellern used to tell a story in his live show (which I went to a few times - he was a bit of a weird crush of mine at one time) about when he was a teenage lad having piano lessons. He told it a lot better than I could repeat it here, but the basic idea was that one week the piano teacher gave him 'the girl with the flaxen hair' to practice. He duly went away and spent the week working hard on the piece (it's quite a difficult piece to play). The following week he came back and performed the piece to his teacher, fully expecting to be praised at all his hard work. But instead the teacher said "No, no, no - you don't play it like that at all!" Then the teacher asked him "Are you a virgin?", to which he sheepishly admitted he was. (Actually, I hope this story isn't going to get removed by the modders - it's a lot more innocent than one or two earlier posts ^ ^ ^) So the teacher said "You can't possibly play this piece in your current state!"



And Mr Skellern recounted how he particularly enjoyed that week's homework.....
