Hands up (baby)
Monday morning and another lovely week beckons. As the Rev says, it's never too late to become the person you want to be. Or something like that.
Hope your weekend was all you hoped for. All Request Friday is always full of people with extraordinary weekends (including the man in a lay-by who could have kept his plans to himself frankly) but I know most of us just do normal stuff. And so it was this weekend. Plate-spinning mainly, just keeping it all going. Taxi man, shopping man and back-ache man- I played all roles with great panache.
So here we are at the start of another week and the book club gathers round the kitchen table. Today it's Ben Aaronovitch's "Rivers of London". Read chapter 1 on this site and listen after 6. If you feel moved to comment, that would be lovely too. It is a weird and funny world that Ben has created, full of coppers and wizards. Fantasy thriller is I think what the publishers are calling it.
Also today, songs for THE OFFSIDE RULE. This is to honour Sian Massey who ran the line at the Wolves v Liverpool match. Commentators Richard Keys and Andy Gray then made what they thought were off-air comments like "can you believe that? Women don't know the offside rule" etc. Keys and Gray have apologised so let's do tunes for this much discussed rule. We could have done sexist dinosaurs but this is more fun.
Have an enlightening and enriching Monday, see you after 5

Apologoes for the absinthe over the weekend - like Simon, it was mainly spent in plate-spinning. Hope everyone had a good one!
The Offside Rule - may need to abstain on this one. I will put my hand up and admit that, despite it having been explained to me on numerous occasions and demonstrated with the use of kittens, fag packets or whatever else is to hand, I still don't get it. I will hang my head in shame.

Just pooping in with my suggestion - thinking outside the box, and probably more along the lines of the sexist dinosaur only because I can't bear to think of the offside rule - the youngerGB plays footie in an under-11s team and I still can't see offside unless it's blatantly obvious.
It's Different for Girls - Joe Jackson - cracking choon.
Billie - I'm feeling a bit down today too and I think it's the tail end of the cold I had last week - feeling v sorry for myself which is most unlike me. anyhoo, that's no help to you but I hope you're feeling better soon. Thanks Mo.
Out of interest, why the acronym? Are we not allowed to type the name in full in here?

See what you've started Kev!
Toots, Mo - there is NO WAY this blog or CHris Evans's will be closed down. LOL>

They'd better jolly well not cut this blog. They wouldn't dare!
#85 #86 #89 KatyMaty - we TG fans don't feel the need to say it in full. It's like you would never say 'Simon Mayo' on here when referring to our esteemed leader - it's always 'Simon' or 'Mr M'. It was indeed a very good show last night.
#74 Much as I would love to spend the day lounging on the Sofa, TD - my head is much betterer thanks.

Top Gear fans - yeah - automatically assume everyone knows what they're on about. LOL.
I wouldn't say SM name in full because it's HIS blog.
Equally in a Top Gear blog/forum I wouldn't say the programme name in full.
I hope you realise I'm only joshing. I really enjoy TG.
