Ah. There you are...
How very nice to make your acquaintance again. The gap between Christmas and New year always manages to be as long as the space/time continuum yet somehow yielding little rest. We stumble back to work just as knackered and slightly more portly than before.
Which is not to say it hasn't been fun. Games have been played (Pit, Monopoly, Scrabble, Jenga and for younger members of the house, their favourite game-Disappearing When the Washing Up Starts), presents have been given and received and very strong ale consumed (in one case 16% I believe. A made for sharing bottle let me assure you).
But the tree is looking saggy now and the cards are falling off the door. The homework is being remembered and the vouchers are spent. It really is time to get everything back to normal. Normal is just fine with me. Normal is where the best work gets done. Let's make the normal really rather wonderful. Heres to alchemy.
I hope all bloggers have had a very fine time, it's good to see that the conversation continues whether I'm posting or not! A happy new year to everyone, here's to another year of top blogging chat and song suggestions. Speaking of which, let's have a go at the brand new and exciting 20% VAT RATE which we greet he new year with. Songs for the VATMAN please in my new year box below. You remember how it works I trust.
Have a wild and stimulating Tuesday, see you after 5...

Glad that Christmas in the Mayo household went to plan - did you try any Rauchen Bier (smoked ale). Bit like drinking a bonfire, but nice nonetheless!
We too did games: Operation, Ludo, Scrabble (on FB!), a bit of Wii and bit of DS, and last night I had an urge to do a jogsaw, so logged on to a jigsaw website (where else!?) and ordered a 1970s Retro Toys jigsaw, 1000 pieces. I hope it arrives before I lose the urge to jig!
Also, weighed myself this morning and have only managed to gain 2lbs over the last 2 weeks, so quite pleased with that too. Back to swimming/yoga this week.
Yes, normality resumes at ChezNic.
My song suggestion is ......
Dirty Cash (I don't know who did the original b ut I think Dizzeeee Rascal covered it a couple of years ago ...?)

Mcw again, thanks for the congrats. An unexpected one. The Farraway Tree was one of my favourites too. In fact the only books I would have on the shelf next to my childhood bed were Enid Blyton ones. We haven't progressed from Noddy yet but rest assured the girls will be introduced to plenty more of her works.
#88 SS, We have a Percy book but haven't got any Mog. Must remember to look at the library.
#89 Thanks Billie!

Also, today is memorable for being the anniversary of Phil Lynott's early death - here in Salisbury ICU in 1986. He was only 36.
