As for Christmas lunches and over-indulging ...... I was meant to go out with the girls from work last night for a meal, but have been struck down with the lurgie (hence my absinthe yesterday). On hearing about it this morning I'm glad I didn't go - a 2 hour wait for food despite pre-ordering (table booked for 7.30).



The silver lining is that next Tuesday at the pub quiz, the pub are laying on a 3 course Christmas meal, for free!

Seeing as Simon tweeted that there's a whole variety of angelic tunes from which to choose, my suggestion for File 13 for today is:

I predict with 97.624% certainty (plus or minus a percentage point or two) that it won't feature on the show :-)



Good to hear Paul Carrack is on on the show - one of the truly great voices of our time in my opinion and enjoyed seeing him in Mike's Mechanics on the tour for their second album. Talking of which, they're out on the road next year I believe.



I will make sure I'm listening in this evening.

Paul Carrack fab seen him loads of times both on his own and with the Mechanics and love "Eyes of Blue" and "another cup of coffee" beautiful songs, his latest album has his rendition of "Love Will Keep Us Alive" the song he wrote and gave to the Eagles. One of my favorites. I am sure Mr Carrack the consumate professional will turn up unlike others (no need for names eh!).

I heard a top tenuous on CLP's show (last week?) about bad xmas presents. A few years ago my brother-in-law gave my sister 2 books of 12X first and second class stamps, as she always complained about queuing in the PO. Practical, yes, but not exactly thrilling.



The punchline: he said "you can think of me every time you lick one"

On the topic of bad xmas presents my (soon to be ex) brother inlaw gave his wife a fax modem for Christmas a couple of years ago. As you can imagine she was delighted! ;)
