Ding Dong and with gusto
As one listener noted, imagine sitting next to Annie Lennox at the carol service. You could sing any tune you fancy and no one would know. What power the woman has! When she went for it last night, the whole building shook. You can see the film we took of the whole thing here-it really is worth a few moments of your time. Hope you enjoyed her carols last night, we have a whole bunch of live Christmas music for you next week with Fisherman's Friends, Lauren Pritchard, Thea Gilmore and Kate Rusby all singing some festive favourites. Feel free to join in at home.
More Nativity oldies today. I think we need an INN or HOTEL for Mary and Joseph to stay in (or try to) so any TAVERN songs that springs to mind, your thoughts welcome as ever. Ta v much.
Have a fruitful and efficient Tuesday. See you after 5...

Watched the Annie Lennox video last night. Very impressive. I must say I'm not a massive fan, but one of the great things about Drivetime is having the opportunity to try out acts you wouldn't normally listen to/watch. And often being pleasantly surprised. I really loved her take on the two carols.
Having said that, I am rather underwhelmed at the prospect of George Michael. But again, I'm prepared to be open minded. And I'm sure Simon will have some very interesting questions to ask him!

Lyrics actually seem quite relevant to Mary and Joseph's predicament in the the whole nativity theme. There are even a few sleigh bells thrown in too.
In my place, in my place
Were lines that I couldn't change
I was lost, oh yeah
I was lost, I was lost
Crossed lines I shouldn't have crossed
I was lost, oh yeah
Yeah, how long must you wait for him?
Yeah, how long must you pay for him?
Yeah, how long must you wait for him?
I was scared, I was scared
Tired and underprepared
But I wait for you
If you go, if you go
Leaving me here on my own
Well I wait for you
Yeah, how long must you wait for him?
Yeah, how long must you pay for him?
Yeah, how long must you wait for him?
Please, please, please
Come on and sing to me
To me, me
Come on and sing it out, out, out
Come on and sing it now, now, now
Come on and sing it
In my place, in my place
Were lines that I couldn't change
I was lost, oh yeah
Oh yeah
