#59 - Ken I understand from the bloggers that did CiN that there is a 'nice young man' from the production team whose job it is to sort out the suggestions from the other output on this blog.



He then passes the list to the producer who chooses which ones are played.

#59 Ken - according to the folks who were at R2 CiN a few weeks ago. They met him in the lift. Always a bad place to start up a conversation.

#59 and #61 He is a VERY VERY nice man, MTF, Deebee and I met him in the lift at Radio 2!....he knew all about MTF's ARF quest!

Raises an interesting question in my mind as to whether any day time presenters (we can't really call them DJs an more I suppose) would welcome the sort of complete freedom that I think Bob has in building his shows and deciding what song goes where. Would the day time peeps have time to do that I wonder?



e.g. if Simon was told "2nd song in first hour and whichever song in second hour are these playlist songs, the rest is down to you mate" would he like that or not?

#64 It is a very interesting question, Ken. And not one I should be pondering what the answer might be at the expense of the economics I have been working on all morning and am now bored of ;-) x

#64 I think the daytime jocks do have that freedom. For instance, Steve Wright's show is predominantly 80's and I am sure that is his choice. Likewise, Ken has a distinctly disco flavour which again reflects his preferences.

Apologoes for recent absinthe - my boss will explain :)



I'm feeling your pain Simon - we were without a boiler from the onset of the terrible weather last winter, just before Christmas and it wasn't properly fixed until into the New Year. This was down to Dodgy Dave's Heating & Plumbing installation about 10 years ago when we had our loft converted. Soooo happy to report that having had the loft conversion pipework replaced by two lovely young men during the summer, we are enjoying having a lovely cosy hoose this winter and totally appreciate waking up to / coming back into a lovely warm home (and the electricity bill is almost paid off ;)).



Just wanted to suggest UNFORGETTABLE FIRE by U2.

Winter Coat (which is what reminded me today) is a fine song by the very talented MARTIN HARLEY BAND, on their album Drumrolls for Somersaults.



Sounds a bit like James Morrison singing with Mumford & Sons. Music for winter evenings by the fire.
