Missed me? Been up and down the M/A23 to London and back for the past 2 days, shifting stuff. Anyway, back to normality today, looking forward to watching Simon and DrK at 12, then the World Cup opening ceremony until 2:30, when I have to pick the kids up from school. The an evening of footie!



MTF - Did you knowThe Orchestra (members of the original ELO and ELO part II) are headlining the Chichester Real Ale and Jazz Festival in July? Also Katie Melua is playing there. I think I will go to both nights.

#10 Malcolm - we did our local pub quiz last night. Great atmosphere. Didn't win. Winner was a quiet chap who was sitting near us, we had no idea he was participating. When he won his 10 drink vouchers - he 'bought' us all a drink. He is now our new best friend.

#75 I agree with Kev. When I made a similar point a week or two ago I was shot down in flames. Thus far, the first two of Simons ARF's had songs chosen by the bloc, and diddleysquat since. But, hey, we is hardy souls, and we wunna gi' up yit!

So, to recap, it looks like we may be up for a blessblogpoppets inaugural mini meet up at the Chichester RAJF (Real Ale and Jazz Festival) on Sat 10th July, when The Orchestra (Members of ELO and ELO Part II - an excellent band, I have seen them 3 times previously) are playing. It's a great festival. Don;t think of Glasto or Reading, this is in a marquee! I saw Blondie there about 5 years ago, and Hugh Cornwell and Simple Minds a cxouple of years ago. It's a very civilised gathering, and a great party atmos. If anyone is interested, there is a "12 tiuckets for the price of 10" offer, so please do pipe up if you are interested in going.



Oh, if you are free on Friday 9th July, Katie Melua is headlining the Festival on that night...

Thanks to a rotten fox, I may have to change my name..... am not happy and neither is Monty the only survivor, and yes he is the cockerel! So no freshly laid eggs for me for a while!

Somewhat disappointing evening, all round, then, MCW. Unless you're a fox, of course. You must purchase some more lady friends for Monty. Or alternatively, you run the risk of becoming MW, and that doesn't seem right.

Sorry to hear of your loss MCW. There are some chickens in the orchard behind our house (not ours, unfortunately). There are also some alpacas, which are supposed to keep the foxes away. Maybe you should get a couple of alpacas. Bizarre looking animals, but quite sweet.

Thanks for all your kind concern. Bit of good news, although my young hen is most definitely in that great chicken house in the sky, the little bantam hen (Monty's sidekick for the last 9+ years) was waiting by the pen this morning! Expect the fox thought she'd be a bit too old and tough!! May think about getting some more after our holidays, in the meantime there will be a dearth of eggs here for a while!



Deebee, the previous owners of the kennels where we take our dog and cats had alpacas.

#87 Did think about changing my name to 'wide eyed and eggless' but I don't think that the wombles would have liked that!
