I'm back! Missed me? I had a fantastic holiday - I've written a bit about it on Chris' blog (post 272 on the Friday blog, if you're interested). Came home with a mouth infection, but otherwise everything's fine and splednid.

#8 Ther's a thing. I, in fact, am somewhat discombobulated by my decision to post the Kenny song. Dunno why I did it. But I love your idea of The Skids and 'Into The Valley'. On the fb blesspoppets site (remember that), I started a string on misheard lyrics. I should certainly have put that one in here. I remember being astonished when I first saw a copy of the actual lyrics, they bore no similarity to what I thought was being sung. Brilliant song, nontheless.

The ignorant audience issue has been discussed on a number of occasions on Bob's Whispers forum and I recall that American artists actually think we're brilliantly well behaved here compared to their home audiences. We actually have a reputation for sitting and listening.



I think it much depends on who's in the crowd and whether they've come to see the act or just come in in passing as can sometimes happen at small clubs. I've been at the Ent Shed in Bedford to see Neal Casal when there was absolute silence while he was playing, but stood in the 12 Bar Club and been appalled at how two people can have a conversation standing a few feet in front of someone standing on their own playing with an acoustic guitar. The rudeness makes me cringe, although I know that venue does have a good reputation for respectful audiences.



I promise no talking and reverential listening if Simon plays "For A Dancer" instead of "Take It Easy" tonight :-)

Evening all! Sorry I've been AWOL all day. Been traipsing all over the shops getting bits and bobs to take up to London as we are doing up our flat. Mrs. Williams has been there since a week last Wednesday and I have been on kidminding duties. Still, school is back today - YAY!

Sounds like you're having fun. I suggested the very same song (Into The Valley) this morning on the blog. Now we really must stop doing this!!!!

I know the feeling as we have a few buy to lets in London, although we have a good handyman friend nearby who we can call on to help out.
