Don McLean sang "Vincent" to close Marr's show on Sunday and it was really quite nice in that real unplugged format.



I really envy someone who can pick up a guitar and accompany themselves like that without seeming to have to concentrate. I bought a guitar a few years ago and struggled to get past 3 or four chords. My fingers just don't want to do fretboards.

Although I have to say I was a bit disappointed in tonight's show on the whole - somehow it didn't sparkle for me as much as it usually does. Maybe it was just me....got a touch of the grumps for some reason. Anyway, I've got "This Week" to look forward to later, after I get back from choir practice. That should put me in a better mood..

Don't know why, but I am really looking forward to tomorrow. First time for ages we have an election which could go any way. I am also voting for my son by proxy, so it will be the first time I vote twice. It is safe 'blue' seat here, and our MP lives in the same village- but we still have loads of blinking dangerous potholes in the roads!! Maybe he shouldn't get too complacent!

Talking of CDFMSDOSINSM, could he perchance put together a list of instruments not yet "used" by Simon and email it to him in the hope of resurrecting the "songs featuring a......" theme. I miss that.

I am hoping I can vote! I only moved here in February and the first thing I did was contact the Local Authority to go on the electoral register. Last week I had a letter from them confirming I am on the role now, and my poll number, but have not received a polling card. Nic and I are going when he gets in from work tonight (I don't know where it is!!) so I'll take the letter from the LA with me and show the Poll Clerk in the hope that my name is on the list!



btw - I've tweeted Simon, King Of Mayo, and asked if we can have a new theme for today's Drivetime songs.
