Trouble is, they'll sneak it through for Dr Who, the furore will die down, and then next time they do it on someting else if you complain to the BBC you'll get the standard "our research shows that viewers like trailers and reminders". Have to admit that when it flashed up I yelled an obscenity at the TV.

#29 My experience of raising concerns to the Beeb about trailers and scheduling stuff is that it generally never accepts that it's in the wrong, and you get a response that says the Beeb's research shows that viewers like whatever it is you're having a little moanette about.



So the DG probably doesn't think he's in any bother at all :-)

#31 I meant that if Spike wanted to be the FIRST to suggest Northern Lights by Renaissance, he may have to come to an arrangement with Dr Who. However, the D.G. probably has the power to remove all previous requests, so that would work too.



I, too, was rather annoyed that the Webber malarkey was trailed across the screen during Dr Who. There is more than enough of this goes on with the commercial channels. But, like you say, no-one listens.

Re. hayfever - I've had streaming eyes, etc. for the past 2 weeks - much earlier than I usually do - I've been blaming the Icelandic ash, but I would be interested to know if it has more to do with the extremely cold winter and hard frosts that we had.

#98 thisd was before Joe met him. Ashley was playing at an all dayer at the Roundhouse with Fairport. During a break he saw Nic playing and singing and thought he had the most haunting voiuce he had ever heard. He went up to him and asked if he had a manger, etc. Nick said no, so Ashley took him under his wing and introduced him to Joe Boyd.
