Jon & Vangelis a great choice. I've tweeted for Van The Man's "Stranded" from the "Magic Time" album, which generally wasn't but had one or two decent tunes on it.



It's officially happy time in mid-Hertfordshire, which will last at least until we lose the first game of our adventures in the new world, and maybe even beyond that :-).

Hi everybody



I shared this on CLP's blog yesterday. A friend of ours died in a flying accident at the weekend. You may have seen it on the news. He was in a light aircraft with another guy flying from Duxford to Bournemouth, and they came down in a field in Hampshire, and both of them were killed. It's a complete mystery at the moment what happened. He was more of a friend of my husband's than mine - they have known each other since school. But I knew him quite well too, although we haven't seen him and his family for a few years. He's my son's godfather - he has a daughter who has the same origins as him (which I may have told some of you about). He also has two other children, all three are in their early 20s. So we are all pretty shocked at the moment.



No song suggestions from me today, but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for everyone else - there have been some great ones so far.

Hi all. Thanks for your lovely comments. It all still feels quite unreal. I haven't even had the usual blogpoppetry banter to cheer me up - those Wombles really need to do something, and soon!



The show was brilliant today - the bits I heard, anyway. I loved the Jeff Beck interview - that song "Lilac Wine" was absolutely beautiful. I'm quite tempted to get the album, even though it's not the sort of music I usually listen to. Although I do like Clapton...



I also have a stranded teenager at the moment. Their flight back from Sweden tomorrow has been cancelled. The school have managed to get them on a ferry from Holland on Thursday, which means an extra night with the host families, then a coach trip overnight. Sarah's not a good traveller, so I hope she'll be okay.
