Have a little faith
Blimey week 2 already. Hope you all had a fine weekend. Child number 2 has a GCSE Drama exam today so ours was not quite as relaxing as yours I imagine.
A foggy Monday here so lets brighten it all up with accordion hits to start the show. You can't beat a good squeezebox and some of my favourite music will have bellows in there somewhere. If you ever get the chance to witness the playing of someone like Andy Cutting you should drop everything and watch genius at work.
Paloma Faith plays live tonight as well after 6 which I'm really looking forward to. I haven't met her before but everyone raves about her and her er, eccentricity. So listen out for Paloma and her band today.
"Pontunes" and "Homework Sucks" back as well. And all the children who voice the HS jingle are now asking to be paid. I'm hoping to get away with a bag of fudge each.
Get in touch below or email me at [email protected].

Simon - just wanted to say a big thank you for playing my ARF. I didn't hear it at the time, but when I got home and asked Mr T if he'd heard the first song and he said it was by Queen, I was so excited. He didn't understand what the fuss was about, so I showed him the blog and then listened to the start of the show on iPlayer and danced around the dining room!
First time I've ever had a mention on the radio - good start to the year!
Sorry, can't think of anything with an accordion in yet - will ponder for a while.

Non hits then. Hows about "WHISTLING RUFUS by Colin Campbell and his Highland Band, or "THE MASON'S APRON" by Calum Maclean? I reckon they would both revel in the exposure.
More seriously, I guess a hit song would be a much better thing to suggest, and as I think you may still consider it to early to return to anything featuring Danny Federici in the E Street Band, my suggestion would be for...
"FIESTA" by The Pogues. Upbeat, and accordianey!

More left field perhaps what about that curious Peter Sarstedt record that might be called Where do you go to my lovely? It's not show opening stuff at all but at the end of a weary Monday it'd raise a gentle smile no doubt across the land as he name checks Sachel Distel and all ...

Although if I had to make a choice it would be London Town or Fire Marengo.

There's nowt cheerier or more danceable! Sooo...to show off to best melodeon (you *did* say squeezebox and not just accordians!) I'm going to suggest Sloe Gin or London Town. That'll get me (and everyone else!) dancing whilst cooking the dinner :-)

Just wanted to say well done on week 1! I am really loving the show. Very laid back and the live music slot fantastic.
Not much of a relaxing weekend here. Slight hangover on Saturday, dragged to last of sales by 16 year old teenanger daughter, then late lunch with friend, Saturday night taxi run, and Sunday spent doing work (not the house variety - would have been preferable!) Result - exhausted today, so early night tonight. Highlight was Nell Bryden on Friday night though - at Glasgow Celtic Connections - she was fabulous.
Have a good Monday show!

Amazingly, Mr T has never heard of them either, and he knows much more about music than I do (or so he likes to think!)
