Scarcity against prosperirty
Hello. Nuala, and everybody!
Today I am afraid I will talk too much just to say nothing. I am going to continue talking about the comparison between some aspects of modern life and life in the desert.
We humans, nowadays, are very developed. But, does this come at the cost of our morality? Let us see.
Today, you can drive your car and achieve many different activities at different locations in a record time.
We all should be very proud of that. We have reached a point where technology helped us accomplish what once had literally considered a miracle.
Today's discussion aims only to argue that we can't seem to get a benefit in our progress without losing another.
First,
why are people in the modern life feel more stressed out than those who still live in the desert?
Well, although I have experienced both lives, I am not sure I am the right person to answer this question.
All, what I can do is to think loudly giving you a chance to hear my thoughts and judge for yourself.
People in the desert have only few activities to decide about daily. Therefore,
they usually have the time and the patience to consider all pros and cons of all options and carefully chose the appropriate one.
On the contrary, when a person in a developed country engages in too many events, tries to accomplish too many activities and sometimes even plays different roles, like studying and working-not to say teaching and managing-, they get forced to take several decisions in a very short time and consequently they are more likely to miss the right choice.
I think ,because of the lack in cognitive abilities and the pressing activities, that each needs an immediate action; people habitually rush to act sometimes indifferently. And when they inadvertently make the wrong choice, let us say on a cosmetic operation, a divorce or a cessation of a rehabilitation program, their lives changes forever.
By the same token, I think that is why the Bedouins never resigned willingly from life. Vis, never decide , for that matter, to put an end to their own lives.
This horrible crime "suicide" has almost become a normal act in the civilized world. And I see no reason to pore in data to give you the statistics to prove it.
Second,
It is ironic that people in the developed world always praise civilization as a haven of freedom and claim that freedom flourishes only in the modern cities rather then the underdeveloped world.
In fact, the more your city develops, the more your hypothetical barriers grow. And as more rules and laws a person has to consider, his or her freedom shrinks and feel shackled all the time.
In the desert, there is a scarcity in almost everything but in freedom. People there have no rules to worry about all the time.
This is not a call for modern world to abandon its progress and go back to the medieval ages.
I am just writing this to encourage you to think differently about the world around you and to share with you the thoughts that come to mind when I try to think deeply to compare between the vary ways of life on our planet.
I am sure all of you guys can either rebuff my opinion or present an alternative analysis about this issue with more explanatory power.
I am afraid I've bored every one to death and some of you are probably reading this and say: why don't you just go and enjoy your desert and leave us a lone?
Well, that is exactly what I am up to . And i leave you with a promise to change the subject in my next entry.
But, remember people of desert, like me, do not have rules to keep in mind.
Lastly, Zillions of thanks to you Nuala for the useful advice you keep giving me. I am trying my best to get a new advice every time, by avoiding repeating the same mistakes.
Thank you all . please tell me what you guys think and have a good time.
all best.

Hi Vall! Nice to read your writing about understanding and misunderstanding of the modern world's civilization. I think your opinions and views are a man's opinions You see Male's opinions. I can't imagine Bedouins to say their wifes Oh enjoy your life don't be hurry, relax I will do your homeworks and so on. As I am writing this thing just now my husband takes care of washing machine and gives more evening snack to our dauther. Can you imagine that? No, I think. But tomorrow I will go to work and earn money to support my family. Can you imagine that? The things you described are quite stereotypic and can say they are true in some cases but it is not the whole truth. As we live here in north we both are at the same kind of conditions, You have hot and we have cold and both of us have lack of important things to live at the most of time in a year. You don't have water and we don't have sun and warm. I mean you are partly right, but you might think how to enlarge the view. It might help you in your life. your writings are interesting, I have commented you once before. so I wait for more interesting points of view.
Hi: Cheich! Nice is your blog and free of any limit in your thoughts. Broad minded is your comparison between the world full of rules and regulation one side and the one merely without of these on the other side too. This makes me think why i preferred living in this world where do prevail lots of rules and regulations, lot of stress and precedented prosperty though. I wondered if you could think of, while you were writing, about the people who couldn't leave the steady civilisation process and continuation in making the places better and worth living. I think this is both of us who are convinced with the standardization where each of us exists thus try to review the contrary's world with a questionable eye. On this point i would like to tell you about the development in the sanitation and sewerage facilities in western Europe about more than 150 years ago. Do you need this kind development in desert, i bet not. Did you notice that the whole world rely on the medicine facilities developed in this modern world somehow. Haven't you seen these developments, if these wouldn't have occured in a modern world, with the same critical eye, i bet i'm sure. Your blog didn't bore me to death. It triggered the idea to think over the matter and brought me to the conclusion that how different our views could be, how far away our convinces from one another are, we still represent the part of the world where we are and each of us welcomes the other in doing it.
Hi, When I started reading your blog and reached till, where your question lies that why are people in the modern life feel more stressed out than those who still live in the desert? I started answering it without reading ahead, then after writing a lengthy answer I started reading ahead and I got to know your opinion about modern life and what ever detail you gave about it, I accept all those and you're very right in your views. I'm not at all bored about your writing, but got curious to know about your life means desert life; what do you mean by free life. Even though I also live in a desert but then life here is very modernized and people here are very busy with less time in hand for social activities. But then every single person has a different life style, like if I talk about my neighbour they have very active social life hence I mean every one has their own type of living. I enjoyed your blog tremendously. Hope I will read more from you.
Hi Cheikh! All the writings are truly deep in thoughts. Even it makes me envious on its easy flow in such nice English. Nations on the various regions and times have gone by diseases displaced there from our developed urban civilisation which we have never cared enough to cure them appropriately. And there are some we may acquire and take home without knowing about it long time. But, humans migrated to and fro and cooperated during all known history. Here, these days, went many debates on Tv to our 20-year´s aniversary Democracy and freedom have von here. Only one writer said that there wasn´t much good that west countries have just taken resources from African countries and then left poor economies to themselves. Shallowness and money interests for self are mostly what people have on their minds today. Even I feel uneasy to write in open criticism. Again I envy you!
Thanks for your blog and opinion, I would like to talk about only freedom. What is the real meaning of the freedom. In my opinion, living without any rules can not be the freedom. Rules does not cause any difficulty, on the contrary our life become easier and safer. For example, trafic regulations. In the meantime, some regulations must be in desert life. Some social and enviromental rules can be restrict your life. Finally, all the time and condition rules is much better than unruliness and I prefer such a freedom
Hi! As I am studying your writing again I´ve got an urge to contradict to what you claim about yourself at the end. At least, you keep well on mind lots of Grammar Rules of english language, not to speak about French which you probably speak yet better! Have a nice weekend!
Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
