A spooky day
When I was little, I was really scared being alone at home when it was very dark, and raining very heavily with a flash of lightning and a clap of thunder.
Today is the day. It’s about 9 o’clock the moment I’m starting to write another entry. Now, I’m here at the college residence seeing constant bright lightning and hearing a deafening crash of thunder. I have never seen this kind terrible weather before.
Well, this time of a year, horror films are always popular. I never really enjoy them, though. Whenever I see them, I can hardly open my eyes and I often have to block my ears so that I cannot hear frightening sounds of the film. I don’t really remember all kinds of horrific stories I have heard or seen in my life. Maybe, when you are young, you take the stories very seriously and think about them constantly, but as time goes by and when you’re a grown up, you don’t really believe ghost stories and forget about them.
This weather reminds me of so much spooky stuff I’ve talked with my friends at high school. I went to a kind of boarding school, which is not exactly the same as in England. I remember quite a few days of staying up late and we frightened each other with a scary story. It was fun but we were also nervous because we had to be very quiet and lights had to be off, otherwise, we would be caught by the teacher in the residence, and we would get punished.
Looking back on, there were so many things I enjoyed. I’m having a high school friend reunion on the weekend. There are eight of us. We lived together, and studied together at high school for three years. I’m really looking forward to seeing my friends and catching up. It should be more fun because we are going away! I guess it might be another spooky day tomorrow. According to the weather forecast another heavy rain will be coming. Well, never mind, we’ll be fine.
I have read all your comments. As I’m so excited about going away tomorrow, I’m not able to write you back about the comments you guys made at the moment. That was such a making-up excuse. I’m sorry. Actually, I need to go to bed early for tomorrow.
Have a wonderful weekend all of you!
Jiae

it so nice story!
I used to be afraid of evil aliens when I was a kid. I remember once I was watching something on TV about them (I was already very scared) and there was a blackout in my neighborhood. That was awfully creepy! Now it's funny. Yout too have a nice weekend!
Hi Jiae, it's good story..happy weekend to you.... I wish you all the best!!!
Hi.Jiae. Did you know Edgar Allan Poe work? I think your answer is yes..he is an american writer who wrote a lot about the fear, the darkness.and many things that scares the human being..I learn a lot of what I know of english by means of its stories like the black cat and others, I became very curious about the composition process used by him, so I decide to learn about his life and I discovered that his life were much more scared then the stories he had written, its way af write was amazing, its almost impossible to stop reading when you start to read its books. the south korea storms should be very strong, something so natural that make you felling bad , these are the ways poe used to write to take natural thing and transform it in things that could shake our felling of fear...
Really very nice! Thank you.
Hi Jiae, Your story took me back to my childhood. To be honest, I have never been scared that much but I still clearly remember that my sister would get scared a lot when it was thunder storms, my sister would hide under duvet and wouldn’t come out until the thunder and storms were over. In fact, she still gets scared a lot even though she is grown up and has children now. I don’t think she will ever watch a horror movie. My sister respond to scary stuff in the exact same way as you, she would close her eyes and block her ears when she come across something scary. Sometimes people think she is overreacting but she says it is not in her control. Your high school friends reunion sounds good. I will be looking forward to hear about it in your next blog. Enjoy your time with old friends.
Hi Jiae! How was the meeting with your high school friends? I hope you had a ball with them. Good bye for now, Ana Paula.
