Hi Marcos! Good Friday is not a public holiday over here. We only celebrate Easter and Easter Monday. All schools are closed from Holy Thursday or Good Friday until the day after Easter Monday. As far as I am concerned, Good Friday was a workday. We basically do not eat meat on this day. Some people even fast. Thanks for the link!! Paulo Coelho is very popular in Italy. Any plans for the week-end? Cheers!!!

Hello, Marcos! BBC LE often introduces student bloggers from Brazil because it is such a vast country, with much to offer, and because the Brazilians are all diligent learners of English. The country where I live is small; nevertheless, it gives me all the more reason for learning English so as to break through/overcome anonymity. Currently, I’m reading “Every Light in the House Burnin’ “ by Andrea Levy, it is a humorous autobiography, written lightly, by which I mean that there are no tough, difficult to understand words nor is the plot hard to follow. I’m really into it because there are plenty new words, new to me, which I’m able to understand from the context, which is a real fun, discovering new words on every page, and writing them down. I read in English with a pen and a paper, and when I come across a confusing word, I don’t panic, I write it down and look it up later. This financial crisis is global. I’ ve experienced it on my reduced salary. Now I’m going to check out the last link you’ve posted about inertnet books. I’ sure I’m going to find something for myself. Looking forward to reading you soon. Benka from Serbia

Thanks a lt Marcos, it is what I was looking for a few days ago :) have a nice weekend

Hi Marcos! I've just checked the link, it looks very interesting. Thank you for sharing with us. Keep writing. Bye.

Dear Marcos, thanks for the info! Very often before buying the book I find its e-copy and look it through to make sure I will like it. But nothing will substitute a real book in your hands :) Sometimes it is possible to find the one you like in a library. Have a nice day!

Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
