Well February in Peru is amazing ,specially for me because it´s a full month let me explain you.
First in this month in Peru is Summer so right now is very hot you can enjoy visiting the beautiful beaches in all the Cost from Tumbes to Tacna (Peru towns ), now if you are interested on surfing here we have good waves and good environment of this sport because Peru has good surfers our Championship Sofia Mulanovich.
Well besides that, in February we celebrate San Valentines´s Day so here you can have meetings with your boyfriend/girlfriend and if you are alone yu have meetings with your friends is really nice the way we spend this special ocasion. On the other hand , the streets are full of people eating at restaurants, cinemas, and any place that you can imagine so if you like to be inside of the crowd thats ok but this day I prefer to spend the time with my husband at home or walking by the Boulevard next to the sea ( That is a good point in Lima , cause is always near to the sea).
And finally my 3 aniversary of been married is tomorrow February 4th oh I will send my pics.
OK OK now the big surprise you can come to Peru in February because we celebrate Carnivals with typical dances, food in Cajamarca which is located in the North of Peru is very interesting to be there for this time. You know Peruvian people are very friendly and funny, but the food is the best.If you go to Cajamarca the typical food is Guinea pig I ate that when I was a child I can ´t remember the taste but according to the best cheffs here is a delicious dish. Well I send some pics of Cajamarca and its sightseeings. The most famous places are: Baño del Inca, cuarto de rescate(this a place for our Inca´s history), cathedrals, the country, and so on.
Next I will continue write about the different places you can visit in my country at any time of the year.

Hi,Lily!First of all congratulations for you and yours 3rd anniversary!happiness, health and prosperous 2009!!The valentine'day is coming soon i think i will be staying at home with my wife like you and we have been getting married for 4 months. The big problem is what i should buy for my wife to me can surprise her and make her warm and loving!!In my opinion, nation of china is a bit different from yours who are quite open and enthusiastic to express your enthusiasm and friendship, so we do not have so grand carnival like yours, but i am attracted through your description and eager to be there,it will be fun! In china most important festival is spring festival during which we can get long vacation staying with the whole members in our family together with lots of so delicious food and visiting our relatives!!today i write much more !!best wishes for you and yours!!enjoy your anniversary and carnival!!by the way,a little bit frank, in you article you had many typos such as: coast occasion anniversary and be interested in etc!!
Hi Lily, unfortunately there aren't any Carnivals in my country, so it's a little bit annoying me, 'cause I'm interested in such things. We also celebrate Valentine's Day, in this day girls and boys give to each other cards (in shape of heart) and presents to show their love etc=) I didn't know about your country, know I feel better, 'cause I knew something from your blog. I'm curiosly waiting for your next blog and of course pictires, bye for now.
Hi Laily hope you feeling good the story you was write this was wonderful and hope as you promised to send us your pictures we waiting for it. Thanks Sameer
Hi Lily, sounds as if you are in a heaven on earth! The place where I am is completely the opposite.Pretty miserable in terms of the weather. It is flipping cold except Summer for about one and an half months(?) maybe.. In fact, I'm in London at the moment and it has recently snowed everywhere in the UK. It looks like a wonderland!^^ Although it is pretty chiily. I love snow as it brings me back to my childhood in South Korea. Anyway, your carnival sounds really exciting and good fun. Sadly,I don't think we have that sort of carnival as you have. But we enjoy St.Valentines as well.I am really looking forward to it this year as it's been 2years since my husband and I met each other. Congratulations on your 3-year-anniversary,btw. Hope you have a wonderful time although I wouldn't doubt that you will enjoy the most as you are in such a lovely place and atmosphere. I wish I could travel to Peru oneday Bye for now. Best wishes for you both.
Dear Lily, it’s a shame we don’t have Carnivals in my country! I sympathize with Nurzhan – he will understand me :) But in February we have a marvelous holiday which is called Maslenitsa. This day we see winter off and welcome spring. Oh, it’s impossible to imagine what’s happening on the streets! The ground is still snow-cowered, so the most entertainments are connected with snow. People sing, dance, play, eat traditional pancakes, drink and have fun. Culmination of this boundless celebration is burning of Maslenitsa doll to symbolize the end of winter. I’m sure some other nations do the same but in their own manner ;)
Hi, congratulation Lily of you aniversary, I wish you both hapinnes and long life togheter:). You seem to very happy , so I wish to be always like this. Unfortunatelly in my country exept New Years Eve we have no similar carnivals to Peru. But we also celebrate Valentine's Day. I can't wait for your pictures :) Bye for now :)
Hi Lily, I found something interesting. Peru is a county, and its people calls Peruvian which is Peru+vian. It's quite difference with other pattern. Such as : Brazil, Brazilian. Japan,Japanese. I haven't been Peru, and I only have a little bit knowledge of Peru, I think I would expand my knowledge of Peru during this month by your introduction. See you aroumd, James.
Hello Lily! I would be in your sunny country now, because in Hungary it is a very bad weather here, rainy, snowy, foggy, cold. Do we have any carnivals here in Hungary? Yes, we have a special carnival in February, its name is "BusóJárás". It is organized in Mohács, which is a hungarien town. There is a special legend here about the origin of the "busójárás". They say, when the turkish army was in Hungary more hundreds years ago, the inhabitants of Mohács were bundled off their homes by the turkey so they went to the moor to hide and survive. They had been living there for a long time, when an old man arrived, and said that, he could see the future, and he could see that, the life of this inhabitants would change. He said that they had to make special long costumes from sheep fur, and frightful face masks from wood, special weapons from wood too. And then they would get a sign. A man would be this sign, who would come here dressed in a beautiful gold costume in a stormy night. The inhabitatns began to make the things which was said by the old man. And on a stormy night a young man arrived dreesed in a gold costume. The inhabitants dressed in the special and odd customes with the frightful face masks and went into the town and began make big noise with the wooden weapon. They were such an ugly, morbid and terrifyingly that the turkish soldiers ran away. Since then, they organized the "Busójárás" in every year in Február, but now they celebrate this carnival as the feast of the end of the winter. The name of the people who are dressed in this special terifyingly costume is "Busó". Many tourists come here to see them. The costume and face mask is very very ugly and frightening. I would send pictures about them, but I can't attach any pictures to this letter. Have a nice day! I am looking forward your next letter because I enjoyed your previous ones. Krisztina
Hello Lily. Glad to meet you as a fruitful and interesting blogger. As for your question about Carnival, unlike Peru and Brasilia Ukrainians don’t celebrate Carnival. Instead of colorful Carnival we used to be marching columns twice per year bearing red flags and shouting: «Long live CPSU!». Thanks god it’s over. Nowadays we have many both local and national holidays but without marching columns. I completely agree with you, in case you raise your eyebrows, that colorful latin Carnival is amazing event and has nothing in common with marching column. Some local events may have some similarities to latin Carnival but it’s not as wide spread as it is in Latin America.
Hi Lily, How nice to know that you will be celebrating your wedding anniversary!Love is in the air... every where we look around...I imagine you are still savouring the spring time of this union!Everything is still "flowers"! I´ve been married for 24 and keep nurtuering my summer wedding garden so that when winter comes we are still happily together, like my parents did! After so many years there has been thorns here and there, but not that hurtful to spoil the whole thing! Are you planning anything special? It does deserve a nice celebration! Well, it was interesting to know that you, in your country, celebrate valentine´s in February, here in Brazil we do it in June, and in grand style like in your country, of course! Couples love going out for dinner! As for the Carnival, we also celebrate ours this month! I´d love to visit your country. In fact, I´m not that far form you!! My dreamest dream is to go to Machui Pichui. By the way, what´s Lima´s population? How far is it from the coast? How about Cajamarca? I´m anxious to see the photos! We also have a huge coast line and because of that surfing is a widely practiced sport!IRRRK!!Guinea pig for meal? Those poor little rats! That sounds disgusting< really! I panick when I see rats, let alone eat them! Once I ate those big corns, like huge peanuts you eat in some dishes and also tried the different potoatoes.Interesting taste!Well, I heard you have a great variety of potatoes, is it true? Well, Lily, I enjoy reading your entries and I´m sure through you, a previous tourist guide, I´ll be able to know the worth visiting points in Peru. Looking for the pics. Love,
Hello Lily! Here, in Brazil, we do celebrate Carnival. It is going to be in Frebuary´s end. Some cities like Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo have great parades. People dress colorful, wonderful costumes. These parades are wide broadcasted and very known around the world. Talking about Valentine´s Day, we use to celebrate it in June, 12th. Usually, young couples go to restaurants. I would like to say also that your posts are very pleasant to read.
Hello Lily, First of all congratulations on your wedding anniversary, wishing both of you happiness and love.Carnival -time starts with Epiphany and lasts untill Ash-Wednesday in Christian cultures as mine is. During this period there are lots of balls, dance-parties organized by civil society. In the past that time was very important in young peoples´ lives, they had their first public appearance. Nowadays it is different, anytime during the year there are lots of dance-evenings, parties. But some customs of carnival-time have been preserved such as preparing different kinds and shapes of doughnuts and fritter-like pastry. You can also find them at bakeries and sweet shops all the year round, but they were, and in the country still are, the tipical pastries for this period. Another of customs are the fancy-dress balls which are most popular among young children, in kindergartens and elementary schools. Girls and boys eagerly selecting masks and other accessories to evoke princesses or the Spiderman. You can imagine how happy their parents are while collecting the desired masks and clothes! But it is worth the time and struggle when you see them with pride and satisfaction on their faces. There are some regions where the last three days are many events like procession of masquerades and at the end the burning of the jack-straw as the symbol of winter. All these events are followed by feasting and dancing-when the weather allows. It is similar to what Daria from Russia has written in her blog. And there also are parties at friends´houses so we have different opportunities to enjoy ourselves . I have seen some pictures about Rio-carnival but what is your like? Bye for now.
Hi Lily:)it is so nice to meet you:)I have just read you blog.We have lots of common:)I was studying accountancy as well and I don't like it.I finished my study and I came to England to learn English.I am starting interpreter course on Friday, so I am very exciting about it.It's difficult to find job in Poland as accountant if you don't have some experience, so I do not.I would like to work at schol or as an interpreter. Hi Lily! Congratulations on your 3rd wedding anniversary. Oh, I think you´ve heard about Carnival festivities here in Brazil. They are stunning, colourful and noisy. Hi Lily, First of all I would like to congratulate you on your 3rd wedding anniversery. Have fun! Your description of Peru is wonderful. I wish I could visit this wonderful country. You never know, may be one day I will come to Peru. Your description of Peru influenced me so much that I put it on top of my list. In the future if I am planning to go away for holidays, Peru will be the first place for me to visit. I can't believe it is summer time in Peru as it is very cold in the UK. I am jaleous that you are having such a nice weather. It is so amazing the way different countries have different seasons in one point in time. People like me who havn't visited many countries always think that everything in other countries is the same as the country we are living in. I will be flying to Pakistan on 14th of Feburary, so no valantine day for me as I am going without my husband. Hopefully, I will have great time there as it has been a few years since I visited my family. I would also like to comment on Carnival. Even though I have heard the word Carnival I am not really sure what Carnival is? At least, I understand now that it is some sort of celebration and hopfully I will learn more about it in the future. It will be great if you describe Carnival more in detail as there might be many more peopl like me who don't know much about it. I will be thankful to you. Have a great time and hopfully we will learn more about Peru in this month. Best wishes Rabail
Hi Lily, congratulations for your blog challenge. Here Carnivals are well known in Sitges, a little place in the Mediterranean seasore. The party finishes with "el entierro de la sardina". See You, Toni
Hi Lily, I`ve found some films from carnival in Peru on You Tube and I couldn`t help laughing:) You`re right, Peruvian people are really amusing and imaginative as well! I was truly fallen about by their costumes. There was even a guy disguised as a moon! I wonder whether everyone can take part in a procession or you must be an actor or some kind of a performer? In Poland, due to the weather or because we are no so open-minded we don`t celebrate carnival in such a vivid way. Just a bear in a pub will do:)Bye, Bye Rose

By the way, have you any planing to prepare something as an anniversary of marriage present for your husband and have you something particular in your mind? Any way, do your best at your favorite new career(teaching)and enjoy your life! Waiting for hearing some more about Peru and the Peruvians. Bye. Karoun
