How eccentric can one get?

As I am at home with fever, I though writing one more short entry and tell you that we Finns can be a bit weird.

The pictures I am sharing with you - as the year 2008 is closing in - were taken last summer, when my husband and I went to see a world champion foot ball competition.

Well, what is so strange about that, you may ask. The fact is that the contest takes place in swamp land here in Northern Finland.

May the good force be with you!

Best wishes from Leila in Finland

Hey Leila, hope you get over soon. See you, Cris

Hello Leila! It sounds very very cool. Everybody in those pictures look very happy! Take care!

Hi Leila I like the pictures you sent about football being played in a swamp land and it is also surprising for me to learn that football is being played in swamp land. What is the reason behind it? I have very little knowledge about football so may be I am not aware about football being played in swamp land. I would like know more about it. Is it only played in swamp land in Finland or other countries as well? From the pictures you can tell that it is a really messy game but may be people only play it because it is messy. The other thing I have noticed is that it will be quite difficult to run in muddy ground like let alone playing the game. Everything is learnt with experience so may be players learn how to have balance between running in mud and at the same time follow the game rules. Anyway it is nice to learn something new. Have a great new year. Best wishes Rabail UK
