I´m Here!
Hi dear friends!
It´s nice to read how you spent your Christmas holiday. Anita, I´m pretty well. Thanks for your kind concern :-)
I also had a wonderful time with my family. On Christmas Eve I stayed at home with my mum and sisters. We´re not used to have a large meal during the evening, because it´s summer time in Brazil and in this period of the year the air is quite stuffy and thunder storms are frequent around here. So our supper had salads and fruits, but I couldn´t resist so I baked a sponge cake for dessert. Hmm... I really love cakes :-). We talked and watched some films too. Anyway, on the Christmas day we went to my granny´s house to have lunch with her and all my aunts and cousins. It´s the only time of the year that we are able to get together and catch up with each other.
The city is very calm due to the fact that many people are going to the beach to spend the New Year´s Eve there. It´s a perfect time to enjoy the city because the places aren´t so crowed and you don´t have to haste to do things.
Yesterday I went to the cinema. The train and subways were so empty. There was silence on the stations, which is a quite rare thing when we talk about public transportation here :-).
Friends, many thanks again for your comments. It´s always wonderful to read them :-).
Hi Fillipo! The tortillini sounds delicious. I´ve googled some images of this dish and there´s this kind of pasta here. I´m going to have a goal soon :-). By the way, have you seen Gomorrah by Matteo Garrone? I´ve watched this film yesterday and I found really interesting. I´m looking for the book now.
Cris, your Christmas table was really beautiful.
Satya, thanks for adding me as a friend on Facebook :-).
James, I reckon you´re the diligent student here. You´re blogging everyday and all your entries are very interesting and informative :-).
Naheed, I loved the pigeons pics :-).
Leila the Northen lights are really amazing. Thank you!
See you soon,
Ana Paula.

Hi Ana Paula! Yes, they are. Unlike spaghetti or penne, a tortellino is a kind of pasta filled with something. It is usually filled with meat or vegetables. We mainly eat tortellini in winter. No, I haven't. I read the novel last year though. I highly recommend it. Roberto Saviano is a great writer and I definitely stand by his side. Anyway, the film got rage reviews and several awards. I keep my fingers crossed for the Oscar. If I do not hear from you anymore, have a fantastic 2009!!
Hi Ana The first thing I want to say " welcome to among my friends on Facebook. I think this is first comment for your writing. Turkiye is very cold as well the town I live. We generally celebrate the new year in snowy day. You wrote people are going to beaches to celebrate new year. It is interesting for me. People are coming to my town for new year celebrations. My town which is at the sea side is very popular in holidays. To be honest we don't like such a these kind of crowded. We, locals think as if our town is taken over by foreigns.Maybe you happy because your city is empty during this period. Bye for now. All the best. :))
Hi Ana, you have a sunny disposition, we all care about you. As you said:"Here it´s usual to eat 7 grapes and for people who are on the beach jump 7 waves in order to bring good luck for the next year." I hope you got luck health and wealth for ever. J.

Hi everyone My name is Rabail. I am having a great christmas holiday this year. My children are home and we try to cook something special every day. So we are cooking and eating all the time which is not good which is not good for health. All the dieting I have done in the whole year is blown off in these two weeks. But as family rarely get togather, I think it's worth to eat good food for just these two weeks. Then when everyone become busy in their own lives, they can concentrate on their diet again. All of us also went shoping which was great. The prices this year are more reduced because of the credit crunch. From reading all the emails, it looks like everyone is having a good time. I don't celebrate christmas as I am muslim but the atmosphere around this time every year is great. Everyone is busy shoping. I also buy a few presants for my christian friends and I find it very hard to find something appropriate for them. I don't want to buy things which they will never use so when we talk I always try to keep in mind what they really need and buy them those things. This makes me think how christian people will find it to find the right presents for everyone. Well, I guess this is part of the fun. Also some people like shoping more than others so people who like shoping more will enjoy buying presents than those who don't like shoping. I am one of those who doesn't like shoping. Did anyone watched twilight. It is great. I haven't read the book yet but I have heard the book is good too. I have watched twilight once but today I am going to watch it with my children again. If you haven't watched it then go and see it. It is worth watching it. Enjoy your holidays everyone and take care Rabail
Ana Paula, farewell to you again! I wonder how many times we have already bid good byes. By the way, I am sure you had your cake with fudge!
