The comments
Hello there,
December 2008 is my English month, which means I study English hardly during this month.
Today is Sunday; I read BBCLE blog and other English website in the whole evening. And I would like to share a few things with you:
1.My blogger mate, Satyanarayana Reddy, has added me as a friend of Facebook. It means that he read my entry of December 27th , and just a little bit pity that Satya has not add Bbc Learning English as a friend on Facebook. Bbc Learning English has 673 friends on Facebook now.
2.I received a message on Facebook by Güzin Tümer who is a regular reader of BBCLE blog. She said that she read my blog but didn’t comment on my blog. Yes, I know, because she must have read my entry of December 27th that was the way she found me on the Facebook. It explains that the readers are always more large number than the commentators. I am curious about how many readers do BBCLE blogs (Student blog, teacher blog) have? By the way, I did a research that Güzin Tümer did her first comment on Teacher Anne’s entry of 22 May 2008, she said:” I have been reading the writings for roughly ten days………… This is my first comment.”
3.I have read 3 comments by Cris (blogger), Toni (from Spain), and Thienloi (from Vietnam). It implies that BBCLE team has someone on duty during the holiday, and I would like to quote the comment by Thienloi: “I will try my best to improve my English. And I do hope I will be BBC Blogger one day.” Hi Thienloi, I am looking forward to reading your blog on BBCLE.
To a commentator, the most important thing is that her/his comment will show up on the website. Normally, it will be published by BBCLE, unless there are a spam manager problem or somehow. Every time I commented, I often wondered whether BBCLE have received my comment or not? There is not a single message showed on the screen like: “your comment has been received by BBCLE, we’ll published it after reviewing. We publish your comments at least once a day, Monday to Friday. Usually comments will be published the morning after they have been written.”
Secondary, the most benefit of a comment is the English comment corrected by a native English speaker. If there has a simple correction on comment, it would enhance the motivation of the comments, and it profits all the readers, and the kindness and merits are beyond bounds as well. The simple correction is just like:
(Original): I have learnt English since I was 12, quite a long time. But I have not being abroad to learn English.
(Correction): I have been learning English since I was 12, quite a long time, but I have not been abroad to learn English.
(Simple correction--- the italic words are the correction):
I have beenlearntlearning English since I was 12, quite a long time. But I have not beingbeen abroad to learn English.
Does anyone know what the biggest different between USA and UK is? As I know, that is:” US does not have any global public service like BBC Learning English of UK.”

Hi James It was a great meeting on the facebook.I've found Ana through your Friend list. We wrote eachother. That was so nice.The weather is very cold. We are closed our homes. While sitting on my chair I have been connected with you in Taiwan and Ana in Brazil. This is a very exciting.It happens thanks to technology and BBC. Maybe I am encouraged to write more comments by this meeting.Sometimes I want to write but I dont know where I will start. Hello James! I had wonderful days reading your daily enties. I was happy having a connection at home. Unfortunately, comment on your hot spring post was lost, I could have forgotten to write in my name, so long I didn´t open my notebook there. (However, twice the comments to Cris, written from work, disapeared too. My days would have been rather sad at chrismas without your post. And I appreciate a lot Carrie´s work at publishing comments each day. I like your colour words, you are the master in using the PC! The idea to have corrected comments might be useful and not. Firstly, it has to be a tiring duty to read such a number of post, then, not less important thing, I believe, there is Andrew worrying about the budget..Often may occure a typo mistake which is sometimes a fatal thing in this language, and often it is my forgetfullnes how to spell the word correctly. Then I shame for myself I was lazy to look out. The biggest problem are tenses it is sure. Sometimes, I come to the point after seeing it on the screen, sometimes I say to myself why didn´t think about it more and sometime I do know I had had look into a grammar book which I didn´t (like here). And, what I´ve realised yesterday at speaking to Satya? I entirely forgot my fear from using punktation espacially commas..what a profit for me from writing so often! By the way,your profit is enourmous. Bye, bye!
