DECEMBER 25th: CHRISTMAS DAY

Merry Christmas to you all!

How did you spend this special Day?

As I told you before, we went to my mum’s yesterday night. When we arrived, there were a lot of presents surrounded the little Christmas tree my mother had put up.

My mother had prepared all the meal. Let me tell you……..

As a starter she made this special salad.

Then, for the main course, she cooked stuffed chicken ……

……accompanied with potatoes in orange sauce.

For dessert we had some ice cream and…………………..

…for the toast she arranged a tray with nuts, turrones, pan dulce (sweet bread with raisins and dried fruits. In Italy they call it Pannettone), dried fruits, snacks and so on.

Then of course we had a toast and took a picture for all of you.

After done this, we opened all the presents. I gave them the 2009 BBC Calendar and they really loved it, especially because my recipe was included there. Then, we exchanged some other gifts. We left around 2 am.

Hope everybody had a happy Christmas surrounded by their loved ones.

I’m curious about your celebrations. What did you do?

Filippo, I like the way you celebrate Christmas. This is a religious celebration and sometimes we forget its real meaning.

A.Paula, it seems that we are the only ones here that have a summer Christmas Day.

Esteban, of course you also had a Summer Christmas Day. Did you see many fireworks along your street? In my mum’s neighbourhood we didn’t see much. It was a bit quiet.

James, thank you for your kind wishes. I love your blogs.

Hyoshil, I’m happy to see you here. You are a faithful commentator. Thank you for reading my blogs.

Naheed, you know, this year is so special to me because I got to know so wonderful people like you. A special thanks to BBC LE staff for that.

Carmen and Anita, for me is also strange to see people with heavy clothes on Christmas. It’s a pleasure for me to take photos for all of you.

Pary, what a special year for you! Your new born son brought more happiness to you. God bless you and your lovely family.

Now we have started counting down the days before New Year.

Best wishes,

Cris

Hi Cris! Merry Christmas! I live in a country where people don't celebrate that important event (only little), because the most of our population are Muslims and Christians. The Christian's people celebrate Christmas on the 7th of January. So for us it was a usual day, but we're all lazy right now in work, because, we're expecting New Year. I'm a learner of English, and it's my first step to improve my writing skills - writing comments, so don't criticize me, if something wrong. I really like your blogs, it's so impressive and full of enthusiasm, thank you. Bye for now. Life is creative.

hi Cris, Before long, I can not image what does a Summer Christmas look like? Now, I could feel a little bit of it by your blog. Thanks, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, J.

Chris, merry christmas to you and to all my new friends.. you explain your beatiful night lovely. I hope, 2009 brings happiness, good health, succsess to all of us. best wishes,

Hi Cristina, lovely pics. The potatoes made with orange sauce are just fantastic. I'm wondering if you could write the receipe. Finally the family pic is the best. All of you in a utterly harmony, laughing. Here from the other side "del charco" I can feel your warm toast. Congratulations and Happy New Year. See you, Toni.

jaja my neighbourhood (the same as yours) was so quiet too. I'm looking at your pictures and I'm hungry now. Even tough you're in front of my desk now, I'll say happy new year to you!!!

Merry Christmas Cristina. Sorry I am late with the greetings. It seems you spend a good party. We stay at home and did´nt eat too much. My parents are over 85 years old and go to sleep before midnight. They watched the Pope mass in TV. Yesterday we went to visit some relatives.

Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
