Life is going on, Time is flying
Hello there,
It is a good day, or it is a bad day, life is surely going on.
To a native English speaker, it’s easy to describe a daily schedule in English. Nevertheless, on the contrary, to me who am an English learner, it is easier to live a usual life than to speak out or to write down in English. I try my best to write it down as below, please correct me if I have done a wrong sentence or misuse words, and all that.
(1) In the morning: working time is from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
I ate breakfast at 7:30 am after I brushed my teeth and washed my face, and went to by 12 minutes driving.
(2) Noon break: from 12:00 pm to 13:00 pm
Back home to have lunch and a break. When I finished lunch, I had a question in my mind:” How many people are eating lunch like me at this moment?”
(3) In the afternoon: working time is from 13:30 pm to 17:30 pm
Back to my office, took care of tons of businesses.
(4) In the evening:
I ate dinner at 18:30 then took a shower and thought:” What time of every day is the usual time for people to have a shower?” Most people in Taiwan take their shower/bath before going on bed. The reason for that is to keep the bed clean. As I realize, many westerners take a shower/bath in the morning, and I have heard the reason is “It is more polite to meet people with a clean body.”
I am peacefully writing my blog at home in the Christmas Eve. Taiwan is not a Christian Nation, however, the church, the Christian, the catholic, metropolitan youths, and English teaching school would have a celebration and have a fun of it, while most of Taiwanese are enjoy a peaceful time at home. I am murmuring:” Time flies, life is going on, I am getting one year older …tempus fugit… tempus fugit…….time flees”.
I would like to welcome two new commentators who are Rajesh Shrestha (from currently Sweden, originally Nepal) and Binoy Kumar (from India); your brilliant comments made me peace in the Christmas Eve.

Best wishes,
James Wu (Wu Zhih Cheng), Taiwan

Hi James, My schedule is: I get up at 7:30, I wash my face, get dressed and put some make up. I have breakfast at 8 am. Then I brush my teeth and prepare a sandwich for lunch time to carry with me. I leave home at 8:45. I arrive at the office at 9 and work until 13. Then I go out to have my sandwich at the shopping mall round the corner of my office. I come back to work at 13:30 and at 16 I finish working and go home. I have a shower before preparing the dinner and we have our dinner at around 21:00. Note that all the everyday events are stated on simple present tense. Have a nice day. Cris
Hi I think this is the only part of the world where we don't get holiday on this day. Around the world people are celebrating this day. In U.A.E we are also celebrating Christmas, you can see x'mas trees, bells and santa in shopping malls and hotels. I would like to write more but i am afraid of my proficiency in english language. If i made any mistakes please correct it. thanks to all Ahmed
Hi James, Probably today your schedule will be as every day. As in many conuntries it is a Holiday here celebrating Christmas so the city is very quiet because almost nobody has to work. Only emergencies, doctors, etc. There is few transportation service. As many people were celebrating by night in the morning they sleep until they gather again to begin eating and drinking, and having time with their families and friends. We Catholics go to Christmas mass, there is one at night of 24, and several during the 25th.
Hi dear James, It's a pleasure to talk to you. To confirm your view about " life's going on ", it's proper to say: Yes, life is going on! In any conditions. Good or bad, whether we are willing or not and nothing can stop it!According to this, we get older and older day by day. So, we have to consider that, there is no any solution for such a clear affair, except enjoying the moments of life and making use of the opportunities to make our lives better and better, and not to miss even a single of the moments. Any way, it is not exaggeration. In my opinion and contrary to your idea, your English is excellent to write and probably to speak as a non-English speaker! I really, enjoy your blogs, and believe that they have many interesting points to read. So, please write again and let the friends to be share with your experiences. Best wishes. Karoun
