A nature gift----- Hot Spring

Hello there,
…….. The most wonderful thing in the winter is to enjoy hot spring.

Today is a little chill as yesterday, 15° C (° 59F) in the daytime. A word came to my mind which is Hot Spring. For that reason, I took a half day off to enjoy hot spring. It's about a 15 minutes driving from my home.

There is a furlough (on leave/ day off) system for Government servant in Taiwan. It depends on the employed year. You got yearly 1 day off with paycheck after 1 year being employed. 14 days off after 3 years; 21 days off after 6 years; 28 days off after 9 years; 30 days off after 14 years.

I took a half day off in the afternoon to a place named Jiaosi Township to enjoy hot spring. The cheapest one to enjoy hot spring for 40 minutes is EURO$2 while a regular fee is EURO$3. There also have many hot spring parks which are built by the Government to offer a free try of foot-soaking hot spring enjoyment; the tourists who just stop by could have a for their short time stay. I shot a photo of the foot-soaking in the hot spring as the following.

The agriculture has developed quickly in recent year; farmers use the hot spring water to cultivate their plants, there are 2 famous and popular plants which are wild rice(The swollen, crisp white stems of Manchurian wild rice) and water spinach in the hot spring area,

Tourism is blooming in the hot spring area, Hot spring spa is a very common business, and a fish called “Dead Skin Eating Fish” is the hottest one, the Dead-Skin-Eating-Fishes swim in the hot spring water and eat the dead skin of the sole of human feet. The feeling is …..

(The photo: The tourists all enjoy their foot-soaking hot spring try and have a relaxed chinwag with each other,)

foot! feet! foot....

Best wishes,
James Wu (Wu Zhih Cheng), Taiwan
