Christmas Is Coming!

Hello everyone!

I hope you´re enjoying your Sunday :-).

Well, I´ve just realised that everything around is related to Christmas now. I haven´t decorated my tree yet. I know shame on me. I guess is time to do it. Anyway, how do you feel about Christmas? Do you like it or do you think it´s a sad day?
I think the celebration has changed over the years at least hear in Brazil. People are more concernd about what kind of present they will get and the food they will have to prepare than share with their beloved ones and celebrate the hope that´s renewed in every Christmas.
However, it´s impossible to be indifferent to the city lively lights and decoration.

Paulista Avenue.

Helen has listed the favourite Christmas songs here. I´ve never tought about mine. Hmm... maybe White Christmas, although here is summer time and the weather is basically stuffy, cloudy and wet during this period of the year...

By the way friends, thanks for all your comments. I´m so happy when I read all of them :-).

Jo! Ooh I hope I did well in my exam. But I can tell that all the learning process was very rewarding and joyful. My teacher is so happy because we did the test that she even gave to me and my friend a little present :-).

Anita, we call this cactus May Flower. I´ve watched Mamma Mia but I didn´t like. Actually, I´m not fond of musicals but I love Abba. It was because of their songs that I went to see the film.

James, you´re such a inventive fellow! :-)

Naheed the pictures are great!

Toni, have you ever tried chamomile tea after you go to sleep? It´s so relaxing.

Liz! It´s so nice to see your comments here again :-).

Daria, maybe we can find out more pleasent similarities between our countries :-).

MJ, Paper 5 is the speaking part in FCE exam. It has around 14 minutes of duration. Right now I´m reading a book that Carmen has recommended to me called Last Night At The Lobster, by Stewart O´Nan. It´s about the last shift at a restaurant. Meawhile, we´re introduced to the peculiar characters of this novel.

Adri! Pamonha is so delicious! I´m looking forward to reading your recipe :-).

See ya soon,

Ana Paula.

Hi Ana Paula beautiful Christmas tree:) Here in Poland the celebration has changed over the years too. Yes that's true that nowadays people more think about decoration, present and food than religion. But I have to admit that I love give presents and receive it of course. We put all presents under Christmas tree and in the meantime all day we prepare to Christmas Eve supper and then after supper in the evening we can open our presents. We spend Christmas together with family. In Poland the most important day is Christmas Eve. The whole family gathering around the table singing carols , talking and so on. And... even though I think sometimes that I would like spend Christmas in a hot country under " a palm tree" until now I haven't decided do it. For me Christmas is really great time . All the best for you bye for now. Ewa

Hi Ana, X'mas is comng in the whole world, even landing in the summer of Brazil. As my vision of Christmas, there are all white snow around the grand, although we don't have snow on the ground except a over 3000 meters high mountain area, it is a winter time in Taiwan, which means that Christmas should be a cold winter festival. Till now, I know it is not a abosulety right that Christmas should be a cold, or a snow-capped day? See you around, J.

Hi Ana! Oh, finally I am now in a kind of good Christmas mood. At least I'm looking forward to celebrating with my family... BTW, I'm glad to see that you're reading Stewart O'Nan right now. It's a good book to read at Christmastime I think. Hope you like it... C.xxx
