Eid ul Azha

Hello Everyone!

Eid Mubarak!

As promised, I'm writing to you all about Eid ul Azha. In Pakistan, we celebrated Eid ul Azha/ Baqar Eid on 9th December. This Eid falls on the 10th day of the month of Dhul Hajja which is the 12th month of the lunar Islamic calender. At this eid people sacrifice animals, only if they can afford to buy one to do so, as a symbol of Prophet Ibrahim's (pbuh) sacrifice. The meat is then distributed among people, it could be relatives, friends and on top of that, needy and poor people are given first priority. Eid ul Azha occurs the day after the pilgrimage (Hajj) to the holy city of Makkah which is the 9th of Dhul Hajja. Here's a picture to share with you all of the place where all the pilgrims perform hajj. The stone in the middle is called Ca'aba. Ca'aba is an Arabic word which means cuboid.

Hope you liked the pictures. Your questions are most welcome if you like to know more about Eil ul Azha or the traditions related to it.

God bless you all

Hi Naheed, About the cuboid black stone: What kind of material is it? Hollow or substantiality? Is it the only one in the world? or, any stone can be it? Best wishes, J.
