Festivals, yoga and friends...

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all keeping well and thank you so much for your lovely comments. Hello Jo, it's really good to see your blog entry and many many best wishes for your new home. Seems like all the teacher bloggers are decorating their houses for Christmas. First we saw Helen's Christmas tree and Jo, I'm sure there must be some specific names of all those decoratives. I'm just trying to give it a go: 1)?, 2) Santa sock, 3) maybe a perfumed candle,4) Christmas tree, 5) Probably another Christmas tree.

Speaking of festivals, tomorrow we are celebrating Baqar Eid in which we sacrifice animals to mark the tradition of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Along with this, Muslims all over the world also perform Hajj (pilgrimage) to the holy city Makkah a day before eid. I will write some more about eid and with some photos as well.

Jo and friends, it would be a pleasure to give you some tips on yoga and some quick yoga poses for all those computer users. To make the most out of your yoga, it is important to keep a watch on the alignment of your body. Never push yourself too hard in the pose and first listen to your body and yoga will do the rest for you. Here are some yoga stretches to relax you while sitting on your computer chair. A small note: It is best to take your shoes off before doing these stretches, especially in case of high heels.

1-Cat-Cow stretch: Bring both feet flat on the floor.
Bring your hands onto your knees. On an inhale, arch the back and look up toward the ceiling. On the exhale, round the spine and let your head drop forward.
Repeat for 3-5 breaths.

2- Sitting tree pose: Bring both feet flat on the floor, now stretch both hands out above your head, interlace them together and stay in this position for 10 counts. Bend forward that your chest rests on the thighs and the hands will be just in line with the head making a 'V'.

3-Twist: The twist can be done by both sitting on the floor as well as on the chair.

Let me know how do you find these stretches like and I will post some more performing them myself.

Hey friends!

Dear Mehjabeen, thank you so much for you kind words! As for travelling on the bus, I often have to go through this trial:) By the way, where have you been?

Hey Carmen! Come to Karachi and I will be your guide and will show you so many more colourful buses. Hope your cough is better now:)

Thank you James! I always like reading your nice comments.

Pary, how are you? It's really good to see you here. Give my best love to your little angels.

Marianna, Today I took some more pictures of pigeons and a couple of shots of the sunrise. The sky was beautiful in the morning so couldn't resist to take some shots of the morning sun:) I will share them soon.

Hello Liz! Thank you for liking the pictures of the buses. It's almost our regular routine to travel by bus so yes, have got used to it somehow:) I also like to travel by rikshaw.

Karoun, thank you for your kind comment! I found your comment very interesting:)

Anita, I took those pictures from my parents' room.

Daria, this art is done by the people who have excelled in it.

It's time to say good night!

Don't forget to send your comments:)

In the place I live (it's Tatarstan Republic) we call Baqar Eid - Kurban Bairam and there is a tradition in tatar families to cook pies, pasties or plane cakes and to treat all the family members. Many of families in Tatarstan keep moslem faith in a rather conventional way, do you think it's all right?

Dear Naheed, How are you and your family. How is your sister who still does the craft works. It is glad to hear from you in the blog fest. Thank you BBc(L/E)for making this opportunity to talk to students and teacher bloggers. Naheed, thank you for sending the pictures which are very beautiful. You had written that you are studying accountancy when you were a student blogger. Did you finish the course or have you been stdying still. Good luck for you. It is glad to hear that you are teaching yoga lessons. Educating and making people healthy is fantastic job. I am very proud of you. In this stressful life style, to get stress relief yoga is the best one without medication. kind regards.

Hello Naheed! I can´t wait to write to you, first computers went down here then busy work at the end of the year. In the meantime, I´ve just tried presented yoga poses and found them easy and relaxing. It goes to perform them sitting at the desk where I spend all my days with no where to move. Actually, I am thankfull to Jo that she has mentioned this. When I first started the work here which meant to sit on that unconfortable office chair I could almost exploded. (Helen your husband Pankaj is worth a million!) Now, I am still here and the position is unbearable. The post on this page has been shining like the healing beam. Greetings to busy-mum Pary too!

Hi Naheed, These three streches of Yoga are easy and useful. Do you have any kinds of Yoga stretch suit to your father? I think that if he can do well, I can do well, too. By the way, There are many reports about Hajj (pilgrimage) on CNN recently, quite amazing. Best regards, J.

Hi Nino! How are you doing? It´s always a pleasure to read your blogs :-). See ya, Ana Paula.

Hi Naheed, First of all Eid mubarak-:). Did you get my text message? However, its good to know that you've become a famous yoga instructor on bbcle:). I'm happy about it. Second thing is that i'm on vacations till 11th Jan, yippee:p. So, just get ready because i will knock your door soon -:).How many animals you sacrificed this time?. Did you make anything special? Keep writing.Bye Mahjabeen
