St. Nicholas...

and another chit-chat about this and that

St. Nicholas (Mikulás) finally arrived at our village in the early afternoon

Children gave him a warm welcome and then recited him some nursery rhymes

To be honest I have already seen a nicer-looking Santa Claus. Sorry.

Hello friends,

Isn’t it fantastic that we can have a good chinwag together about everything under the sun, is it? I think that I can respond to everyone directly on my blog so nobody has to worry about the evaporated comments. Let’s go!

Hello James! My English teacher is an English native speaker, of course. Why is this course important to me? The answer is simple, because it is the only place where I can brush up on my English- mainly on speaking. No worries. It is unimportant to differentiate my classmates on the basis of their country. Penultimate means second from the last. My last English lesson is on 9th December so my penultimate lesson was on Thursday. I hope this helps. It was such a pleasure to read that I could show you a new word – chinwag. I see, you had a really healthy dinner- lots of fruit.
Hi Allesandro! Thank you for your point of view. I read it with interest.
Dear Marianna! I really appreciate all your comments. Thank you for the wonderful idea of visiting the Vienna’s Albertina. Even if I am feeling better I think that this cold is going around my family. Unfortunately, my husband has been sick too. You know, it is better for the sick to be cared at home rather than going to a museum. I am sorry for you that you cannot go.
Naheed, your entry about rickshaws, buses and taxis is really interesting. The buses in Pakistan look absolutely fabulous and they are so different from the buses I can see here in Slovakia. I liked the photos, as well. It seems to me that you took these photos from one place. Is it your room?
Cris, I am glad you enjoyed your journey even if you had some difficulties at the beginning of your journey. Thanks for the photos.

Well, I must be going. I am looking forward to reading your comments. Have a nice weekend!

Anita

Hi Anita! I found your tradition of Saint Nicholas very interesting. This saint is also the patron city of an Italian southern city named Bari. Does Santa Claus stop by Slovakia on December 25th? Have a great week and good luck for the final class!

Hi Anita I comment your blog on Saturday but unfortunatelly did not apear. In Poland we also celebrate 6th of December as a Santa Clause's day. My brother-in-law changes to Santa Clause. He go out early morning and come back home wearing red dress with big bag wih presents. Although their children know that Saint is not real person, they love it. They do everything what Santa Clause says: sing songs, say poems and so on...

Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
