Buses, rikshaws and taxis in Karachi
Hey up Friends,
Hope you are all well, Anita, your works are fantastic and thinking of chocolates and goodies is making my mouth water, yum yum yum!
Well friends, the best thing about Karachi is its public transport. Everyday is fun when you come up with a new story as a commuter. As you can see the title of my post, get ready to travel on the bus of Karachi with me. Well, the buses are very colourful from the outside and when you get on the bus the more is come to entertain your eyes is the driver's seat. The part of the driver's seat is decorated with flares adorned with beads or you better say, you will get to see all kinds of decorative pieces. And the ticket checker's duty is to cram as many passengers as he can on the bus which is a real tough experience for the people who are already struggling hard to stand on their feet. When the bus starts its juorney the only thing you start praying is to reach your destination safe and sound. Well, apart from all those hardships of travelling on the bus, the best thing is the art which is done on the buses to make them look colourful. This art is also known as 'Truck Art' and is liked by everyone who visits Pakistan 'cause not only in Karachi but you can also see colourful lorries and buses in every part of Pakistan.
Some pictures of the buses which I captured in my camera.

In this shot you can also spot a taxi which is yellow and black in colour. There are two more types taxis over here, one is yellow and the other one is white. White taxis are rather luxurious and a bit expensive.
Okay this is rikshaw, a three wheeler and everyone's favorite too. We have two types of rikshaws one, as you can see on this shot and the other one is called 'Green Rikshaw' which is run by CNG (Compressed Natural Gas).

Thank you everyone for you nice comments.

Hey Naheed! I found it really interesting about those colorful buses you mentioned...such a good example of art. And it's a bit funny about the crowded buses, it does sounds funny but i guess it isn't so from the view of a pasengger ! Have a nice weekend, Liz
Hi Naheed! Now here you're with another cute blog. I always wait for your blogs 'cause you're not only belong to my country but also as a friend. However, the way you tell the story about poor commuters who use public transport to travel it looks very near to reality. We're waiting to read your another blog with belated breadth :). Loads of love. Mahjabeen

Hey Naheed, I really like the way the buses look like over there in PK. It seems traveling by bus is kind of an adventure trip, isn't it? Over here buses look sooo boring - and so is the feeling taking a bus in Germany - no adventure at all :-(
Hi Naheed, you are always great. Buses, rikshaws and taxis are all great, I dream to take those stuff someday. Besr rgards, J.
Hi Naheed, nice to meet you. What a never to be forgotten trip we had with you, by the colourful bus! To be honest, after reading your nice comment about the public transportation system of Karachi, and taking a fugarative, fearful trip along with you, I saw in my dream, I was really on that magical bus in case, it was driven in high speed! Inwhich, you were describing us, the outlooks and the monuments on our way as a guide however, because of crowd of people, no one could hear you or even breathe in such a difficult conditions. The only thing that the passengers were thinking about, was to get an apportunity for getting down of the dangerous bus before happening any accident!! Sorry, I don't know what happend after that because, I had been woke up. Naheed, it was just for relaxing but, apart from this, your comments are nice and instructive and I read them whenever I get a chance, and I really admire your English. Best wishes. Kroun
