Chinwag

Hello friends!

I do hope everyone is feeling better than me. I have got a terrible sore throat and I have a throaty voice. In the morning I had my penultimate English lesson and I had to go out of the classroom as I was coughing all lesson long.

I am sipping a mug of herbal tea with honey and lemon at the moment and I am thinking about all of you. I would like to be somewhere, where the sun is shining, where the weather is warm and not as rainy as it is here. I would like to sit in a bar with Ana Paula or Adriana and have a glass of caipirinha (Stephen Keeler’s favourite drink) instead of my herbal tea. Oops, it is not a good idea as Adriana wrote about torrential downpours and people who have been affected by the floods. I was sorry to read about that, Adri. You do not need to apologize. Anyway, I am glad you have joined as. A big Hello! Ana Paula, you are on my mind the whole day. I am sure, your FCE oral exam went well. The photos are really interesting. I like people’s ingenuity and children and teenagers surely have the ability to think of clever new ways of doing something. Speaking of the art and seeing Naheed’s feathered friends something got to my mind which you all but Marianna certainly might like. I visited the National Gallery in London for the second time and I saw Picasso’s Child with a Dove in the flesh. Have a look at here if you are interested. I absolutely love this picture. How about you? I am deeply impressed by the National Gallery because firstly, they ask for donations rather than make visitors purchase a ticket and secondly I was able to see my favourite picture by Vincent van Gogh, The Sunflowers click amongst Van Gogh’s Chair click and other pictures. I spent a whole morning there seeing Titian’s pictures click Impressive and marvellous…

James, I was sorry to read that the healthcare is sliding into depths of recession, too. We also have problems in the car and building industry due to financial crisis. Hope your father is doing well. Thank you for your comment. I quite often reread the previous blog entries. I always find new words, new phrases there or just refresh my memory.
Hello Kiran, your pictures are breathtaking.
Hi Cris, even thought I have not been a commentator on your blog I have been reading your entries. So, it is time to make friends. Do not you think so? I am looking forward to your write-up.
Ernesto, I take it as a compliment when you say my daughter and me look like sisters.
Thank you Marianna for your kind words too. You are both really kind.
Hi Renata! I am glad you are interested in my entries. I would be happy if I met St. Keeler or my teacher, Lewis or Amy or Jo or Rachel or everyone else amongst teachers, student bloggers and commentators. It would make my day!

OK, it is time for another cuppa. See you soon. Take care,

Anita

Hi Anita, I now leran a new word "chinwag= informal a chat", thank you. I divide the word "chinwag" as "china + wag" to remember it. There is a thing I cannot figure out which is: what is the "penultimate English lesson" ?

Hello Anita! At first, nice to meet you. Well I had the sense of obligation to introduce myself because your answers to the people, many of them from here (Brazil), let the blog much more with a "face" of friendship of long long time. lol Then, what caught my attention was not the mentions about Ana Paula and Adriana and so about your desire of warm weather. Suddenly in my mind came the idea: - she should come here to Brazil and she will experience our warm weather and, sometimes, dangerours sun. Well, I have to confess that caipirinha was a good choice. I suppose that everyone like its taste. Good excuse for someone who is sick and even so wants to drink something is: - Caipirinha I can drink, 'cause it going to help me with my sore throat. What I ever use to say is: In the warm weather we can't wander naked, but when weather is cold we can wear a plenty of clothes and the problems are solved. So believe me, the warm weather is good when we can go to swimming pool, beach of some place like that. well it is my point of view. regards from Brazil.

Hi Anita! It is so fantastic this blogfest with all friends and to find each day new entries. Even when you are ill you have managed this message which gave me to know I am not alone on this space daily. Hope you come over that unhapy bad cold soon. Maybe you even will be fitt for the quick visit to Vienna. On Sunday the big Van Gogh unique works collection in Albertina will end. I am afraid of traveling by bus in order not to damage more my bad spine but you are so near to Vienna to go for this eye feast there. I am enough pleased what you have devoted to me on the blog. I can imagine what the pleasure it is to see the art of that in the flash! I re-study some names of art from my collection on these evenings. Make your day as best as you can!

Dear Anita, How do you feel now? I hope that you feel better now. Take plenty of rest and drink a lot of fluid and guggle your throat with salt water. This is my remedy for sore throat and flew. It will help a lot for speedy recovery and soothing you. Anita, I think that you might be remembered me.When you were a student blogger I commended for your entries but not regularly. I am very glad that your daughter successfully finished the university degree. Congratulations. It is a big achivement in a life. My daughter wil be gratuating next year with Bsc degree. The Art gallery pictures are spectacular.I am very much interested in Art and crafts works which make me happy. Thank you for sending the those pictures. Take care. You look very young in that pictures. Kind regards.

Hi Anita, I hope you will be better. Herbal teas with honey and lemmon are delicious, but I agree that a good caipirinha with lovely friends is the top. I've watched the Picaso's paint and its relly catching. If you have the chance came here, to Barcelona. It's settled the Picaso's museum in a breathtaking bulding. Both are fantastic.

Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
