Catching my breath.
Hi everybody!
Wow Simon! I´m still catching my breath after the last set of songs of your programme. It´s been ages since I´ve tried unsuccessfully to dance. However, today I could at least to go to stage number one ( Yes! A huge step for me I must say) : to put my hands up and shake my head at the same time! Ooh I´m so proud of me, ha ha! I really had a ball listening to your programme today :-).
By the way, the song you´ve dedicated to us was one of the Nouvelle Vague songs, wasn´t it? Apart from that, I liked very much the African grooves( is that the correct name?). They are funky :-).
Anyway Simon, I reckon you´re a night owl just like my friend Naheed. But I guess after taking a little nap you could recharge your batteries for the night ( Nap is soneca in Portuguese. However, we do use the word siesta just to pretend that we can speak Spanish ;-) ).
Well Simon, could you tell me how you and your friend select the set of songs for the show please? Do you do any kind of research during the week or the selection just comes like an epiphany? Hmm... I´m quite curious about it.
Ah! Just one more thing. Do you use a nickname during the show, don´t you?
Oh you must be sure that I´m going to check out David Lynch films soon. As regarding to Capra, besides It´s a Wonderful Life, I recommend Mr Smith Goes to Washington and Mr Deeds Goes to the Town. These films are absolutely fantastic :-).
Simon I was also wondering where everybody else is. As you said they might have been caught in the Blogland time delay. Apart from that, I´d like to thank you for the advice. For now on I´ll write down the phrases just like you showed me today. Well, I´d be very happy if we could Skype some time :-)!
Ok, here´s the phrases you´ve highligthed:
- I´ll be heading to my studio to practice playing bass ( Oh you play bass! That´s really nice.)
- I´ll be sure to play something for you tonight.
- I love the weekends but as you can see they are pretty busy too!
Now the ones that I´ve found:
- After I was taking a little nap.
- I´ve got back from the organic market for our weekly shop!
Hey Simon! Nice shot at the Ecological Organic Shop. Here´s a picture of a fruit market in Mogi:

Keep enjoying your weekend,
Ana Paula.

Hi, congratulations. You're very prolific. Your rhythm and the sense of humor are fantastic. Please go on. I'm impatient of your next contribution. I've leaved another comments in Simon's blog and in yours but unfortunately ther don't apear. ???
Ah Ana! I think both of you're right as our blogs caught in the timezone of blogland. This is my third post and i think only one them got appeared, what a pity :(. Hope the problem will be resolved soon. I like the way you write Ana, specially that you take lot of care for the punctuation. You should get the credit for it -:). Applause from all of us. I like this entry of your blog too like all the old ones. I've never thought you've been into music and arts that much. Also, i've made a note of all the phrases which you both are using in your blogs. Good work and best of luck. Oh, by the way the pictures are fab, specially the rose -:). Kisses, Mahjabeen
Hello Ana Paula, here I'm again. It's weekend and I'm as busy as Simon, but now I have half an hour for blogging. The photo of the fruit market is very impressive, especially the big papayas and the wonderful mangos( it looks like mangos). In Germany we only get very little papayas.Yesterday I watched a very nice movie " Once", it's about an Irish streetguitarist, who meets a Czech young woman, who plays the piano. They make wonderful music together. There is not alot of action, but you see wonderful pictures and hear wonderful music." Finnischer Tango" is about the friendship between a young man and a group of disabled young people and about the special form of tangomusic born in Finland. The young man plays the accordion and so you hear this special music. I think Leila from Finland knows something about this music.Have a nice time, see you soon...

Hi Ana Paula, what a wonderful name! Almost all people I know called Paula (included my youngest daughter) are sunny, outgoing and nice as you are.I haven't written yet but I've read all your interesting and lively posts which have made me a bit envious of your fluent and rich English. I share with you the passion for books and films. I love particularly comedies as long as they are full of humour like Woody Allen ones for example. I like also many English films, one of my favourites is "Waking Ned" (by Kirk Jones), have you ever seen it? See you later
hi I am new here but this is my second time to visit your blog and I liked it, it's very nice. keep it up. Mohammed, cairo - Egypt
Hey up Aninha, oh it's so good to know that Simon is a night owl like me. Oh, but you have let the cat out of the bag noooooooooooooo. I'm enjoying reading your energetic blogs. Nice picture of the organic market, yummy yummy goodies. I can spot some red mangoes in the shot. See you soon, Night owl xxx
Hi, Ana. I am Deepak. I am new to all of you. I want to tell you Ana, your writing is really very good. The photograph you placed are very beautiful. I would like to read more from you. I will try to comment on it. It seems you are interested in music, reading. I like it.I think it is enough for today. Be happy.
Hi A.Paula, Please, don't forget to check your previous blogs so that you can read all the comments that I'm sure they'll publish on Monday. Thank you for letting me know the exact time (our zone time) when Simon's radio programme is. I started to listen to it at 7:30pm but I could appreciate the lovely music he selected. Hey, the market in Mogi looks fantastic and I can see that the papaya fruit is cheaper than in Argentina. See you my friend and enjoy your holidays. xxx Cris
Hi, it seems you have enjoyed the music. Here we are waiting for the spring that officialy begins tomorrow, but the weather is still cold and cloudy, so I didn´t do anything interesting these weekend
Hi Ana Paula, how are you doing?? I need to say that I love the way that you write. You make every post so interesting!!! Congratulations for that!!. In this post, I love your picture about the fruit market. With only want picture, you brought to us so many colors, and the oportunity to imagine many different flavours. By the way, I was wondering which is the way that you use skype to practice your english. At what time you are connected?? Are you in a group or something like that?? Can I join in this group?? Well, take care everybody
Hey up Ana,I'm curious about Simon's program. I liked very much the song even though it wasn't a love song. :-) What am I doing still here? I'm not on holiday...good night moon, see you soon! Kisses Adri
Ana Paula, sounds as you had a very good time listening to a radio! I also let my hair down at the weekend.
Hi Ana Paula! Let me give a belated welcome on the board! How lovely to see you on the blogs again. I turned the PC on immediately after I had arrived from my holiday a week ago and I was so glad to see your nice smile in the picture. Unfortunately, my congratulatory comment did not appear on your first blog. I have been quite busy with things since getting back from Montenegro. I feel that all I have been doing is rush, rush, rush. I am also a little depressed. After a week of sun and sea it is awful to see the rain again. Autumn has definitely arrived this week in Slovakia. Dear Ana, my first question is- Have you already bought a bicycle? Has your Mum eventually relented and let you buy one? I am looking forward to reading your news. Best wishes,
Hi Ana Paula Great to see you back here again! I am sure you will be as kind to Simon as you were to Alex ;-) I'm pleased to read that you and Simon have been exchanging tastes in music - Simon has always been a great asset to the Istanbul music scene. It's a pity you can't see him dancing though... ;-) Catherine x
Hi Ana! Oh, I'm really sad that I missed Simon's music program! I hope there'll be another one next time. But thanks for sharing the song with us on facebook. I really like this version of "This is not a love song". It's much better than the original! I love to discover extraordinary cover songs. One of my favourites is the Oasis song "Wonderwall" in the version by Cat Power. And I've just found another version of Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean" covered by the German duo 'Frau contra Bass'. They also play a version of Britney Spears's "Toxic" - amazing!!!
Hello Ana Paula! You sound full of beans! This market looks so colourful...It makes my mouth water. So long!

Hi Ana, nice to meet you here. I'm a new blogger, and i'm so happy to read your nice comment.I'm learning English and I would like to improve my English skills.Absolutely, I can learn of you and the othre friends on this weblog.Best wishes. Karoun
Hello Ana Paula, that was a beautiful picture of the vegetable market. One of my dreams is to start a vegetable garden of my own. I'm not sure I'll have enough talent for that. Once I tried to grow some tomatoes, but I could only get a few very sick fruits. Anyway, as they say, practice makes perfect. I guess I just haven't given it enough of my time yet. I still couldn't hear Simon's program. My connection is very poor and It's a hard thing listening to on line radio, but I'll try. Regarding what you said about dancing, there are some songs that get you straight to the last stage. Of course they are different for each person. And they're very rare and don't show us so often. I have heard some of these songs in the past. But the problem is that it has something to do with the moment you're in. And it may not last. But it's a great feeling when it happens. Well Ana your blog gets better and better. I'm eager to see another picture of yours just like that one from the pinacoteca. You looked lovely. See you soon. Bye bye for now.
Dear Ana Paula, you made my day today when I logged on the BBC learning English website to see that this month you are the student blogger. Do you remember me? A friend from the facebook? I have lost contact with you for a long time! It’s all my fault. As I am pregnant, my doctor advised me to keep a distance from computers as they have radiation. The happy event will be on October 19th. By the way, I came across with Naheed on Skype the other day. We had a short talk and she told me that every Sunday you will hold a skype meeting. And she invited me to join in. Though I am keen to be one of you, the meeting time is not suitable for me. It’s about 1:30 Am in China. As I am expected to have early nights for my baby’s health, so I have to give up. Maybe I will be able to make do with the differences of time zone after I deliver my baby. PS: Those pictures you pasted are really fab! Who says that pictures truly are worth a thousand words. They really make my mouth watering!
hello Ana ,,, this is my first comment on this page so i would like to tell you that i read your posts all day and i feel that my english its become better thann before ... thanks for everything ...
