The South Island

Hello everyone!

I can't believe I made so many mistakes....sorry about that! And thank you Simon for your corrections.
I wish you a wonderful trip to Europe and I look forward to your next blog from there. I have never been to UK but next time I'll go to Italy I will surely have a stop there. You should find a nice temperature and weather I suppose.
Here the weather is awful at the moment and yesterday there have been some problems regarding power breakings but nothing too serious.
As promised I am going to show some pictures of the South Island. Because it is colder there, there are a few of glaciers and the most famous is Mount Cook.
We went for a walk there and it was fantastic. Here are some pictures of that experience.

This is me at the beginning of the walk.

I felt a little bit scared on the boarding bridge...

Another beautiful region is Otago, one of the place where they shot "The Lord of the Rings".

It seemed to be on the moon such the landscape was strange.

Well, it's all for today, I will answer your comments tomorrow and I will show you another region of the south island!

Have a wonderful Saturday!!

Cheers

Rosi

Hello Rosi, thank you for th photos, they are really marvellous. Crossing the boarding bridge seems so scary, but very exciting at the same time. And VOW! glaciers, I can't believe it, they should be amazing!

Dear Rosi, Yesterday night, after going through your responses to the commends offered by our visitors , I had happened to view the latest floods due to heavy rain fall and wind throughout the south costal areas. In my recent visit to her mother continent, the southern Australian states, I felt very windy and had experienced unpredictable rains, on and off even during that summer. I really missed visiting New Zeeland due to paucity of time even though I was fully aware of her rich, wonderful, dreamy landscape, vegetations, and especially her native birds and aroma. By the by, I should appreciate your description and their habitat of New Zeeland’s birds. It is amazing. Walks are very famous there as you have illustrated beautifully and people love going to the mountainous walks frequently. I had also undertaken a few such walks when I visited Melbourne in the last summer. Here, in our country, there are shrines situated in the hilly areas where devotees undertake pilgrimage by walking all the way from the base of the hill to the hill top mostly to worship the presiding deity. Regads, Vemuki

Hi Rosalba, the view from the mount cook is breath taking, mainly for a Brazilian, because in Brasil there aren`t mountains so high and in the region where i live don´t snow.

Wow Rosi! What a wonderful landscape! I particularly liked the picture of you in the beginning of the walk. What a fabulous view! Best wishes, Ana Paula.

Hi Rosi, Beautiful pictures indeed. They reminded me of the South of Argentina. The landscapes are breathtaking too. Hey, you're not a coward person, I don't know if I could walk on that boarding bridge. I'll miss your blogs Rosi; I can't believe that July is almost finished. Have a nice week. Fondly, Cris

Can you show me more about South Island,Rosi? I'm really excited about your snapshot.
