Here we are!!
Hi everybody, my name is Rosalba but you can call me Rosi, it is much easier...especially for the Anglo-Saxon world.
I'm Italian but I live in New Zealand at the moment. I've been living here for a while and I think the Kiwi land is just amazing. I was thinking to tell you something about this little part of the world in my blog and I would really happy if you ask me any questions, I'll try to answer to everyone, I promise!! Let me know if you rather want to speak about something else, I like suggestions and advices but I think New Zealand is not a very known country and it would be nice discover new places and traditions.
Let me tell you what Aotearoa means.......it is a Maori word but I will have the time to explain everything I know about this people! Anyway Aotearoa means "The land of the long white cloud". I'm sure you are wondering why this name....you will discover it later on!
Well, I guess I should tell you something more about myself before starting seriously this blog...
I am thirty-year-old, married with an incredible Italian man, Ivano and I am a food technologist. You probably are wondering why we decided to come so far away. Uhmm, there are many reasons actually. First of all, we would like to reach a very good knowledge of English language. In fact I think that understanding, writing and speaking a good English will help us to learn more about what's going on in the World. I mean that many scientific reviews, financial articles and even speeches held by Prime Ministers, Presidents and so on are international, to put it better... in English.
Well, I reckon it's enough as introduction of myself for now. I really hope I will have the time to write every day so that we will know each other better and I look forward to "meet" my teacher!!!
The day is just starting here and in Europe a the night is coming....timing is strange, don't you think so?

Hi Rosi, you’ve got a nice name. Welcome to this blog. I’m from India. Italy and India. No, these two names aren’t only having similar first letter but also vibrant culture, colourful history and even today’s politics. Yes…… politics. I think you might know the name of the most powerful woman in India. Right……… Sonia Gandhi. Listed in a well known magazine’s 100 most powerful persons in the world. What a connection between these two countries! Back to southern hemisphere. As you say in this blog I’m surprised by that despite having stunning landscape, breathtaking beaches and lush tropical rain forest (though I’ve never been there! Thanks to the New Zealand tourism board’s ambitious campaign here in an Indian tourism fair where I went at last weekend) this country is relatively less known to the rest of the world. But here in India, New Zealand is well known for one of its particular sport! Guess……. :-) Yes, Cricket! It’s extremely popular in India. Just like soccer in Europe and Latin America. Cricket is considered as a religion in India. Oh, I’ve forgotten to ask you some questions. When you first stepped in to New Zealand what was your first reaction about this country? And what do you really miss about Italy in New Zealand? It’s nice to know that you’re a food technologist. Of course I would like to see a blog with food related topic at next time. I’m looking forward for your next post.
Hi Rosi welcome to the blog. How do you feel/think about living another country as a foreigner? What are the advantages :)) and disadvantages :(( except for improving english? and also I wonder what kind of country of New Zeland is (as a life style.) BBC web pages give us many chances, one of them is to know the country I will never go.I would like listening to your thoughts about New Zeland through the person's eye who is italian. I am lookig forward to waiting your writings. Happy blogging.
Hi Rosi, Welcome to this magic world of bloggers. What a coincidence! Just a few weeks ago my husband and I were watching a programme about New Zealand and it caught our attention. Then an article was published on our local newspaper and we reckoned that it was an amazing country and that it would be great to go to live there. How is the pace of life there? I learned that it hasn't a big population and that it has the 4 seasons. Well, I'm looking forward to your next blog. Best wishes, Cris
Nice to meet you Rosy! I'm Luis from Venezuela. Hi Rosi. Nice to meet you. I'm sure it'll be a very interesting month chatting about you and New Zealand. As you said, this is not a very well known country. Rugby, kiwis and white wine, that's what New Zealand means to me. But certainly there must be many more things in those couple of islands in the middle of Pacific Ocean. Best wishes and till next.
