...and ended too soon!
These were very nice two days, with fantastic weather.
I managed to shoot some pictures of my place, and of my cycling trip, so I'll try to post them here now, so as to make this blog more colourful. Let's see if this is going to work!

OK, seems like I've managed to insert the first pic - there'll be more coming up!
Now, have a look at the view as seen from the back door - there's our back garden, but at a distance you will see the church surrounded by trees - that's the centre of my village. Our house is located on a small hill, so we get a really nice view of the whole area.

Have a look at my dog as well. We found it, a small puppy, under our car a couple of years ago - and we kept it. Now we can't imagine life without him! He's called Pirat - in Polish the meaning is the same as in English (a sea bandit with a steel hook for his hand... ;-)

Now, let me tell you about what I was doing over the weekend. I spent the Saturday in the way I enjoy most - cycling through the countryside. I took my bike into the car, drove some 50 km away (I know almost every path in my direct neighbourhood, so it is no longer fun to cycle too close to my house), then parked at a random location and cycled on... Funnily, just where I parked my car, there was a sign directing to ruins of an ancient church - dating back to XIII century. I found them, and so here comes another pic :)

I realise that this is not exactly 'ancient' in the English meaning of the word, as it doesn't go back to pre-Christianity, but from the perspective of Polish history, it is quite old. Poland as a state originated somewhere around X century AD (the year 966 AD is often quoted, when Mieszko I - the ruler of a major tribe - accepted Christianity and started uniting other neighbouring tribes under his rule, thus creating a territory later to be known as Poland).
Alright, just one last photo, so as not to make the blog too byte-heavy. I want to show you the kind of road I love so much to cycle on - winding through the hills, fields and forests, going from one small village to another, but with scarcely any traffic on it.

And now, as it is already 3 a.m., my bedtime, I'll have to say good-bye.
This week I'll take my camera to Poznan and try to photograph some scenes there. Till then, cheerio!

Hi Lukasz, what a blessing little old village! Lucky you, it seems you're living in your little paradise. Imagine me, just woke up to see I have to drive to work in all this dust and heat! Wish me luck...By the way, Pirat is so fun...Best, H.
Hi Lukasz, I understand perfectly what you mean when you say that it is not anymore fun to cycle in the neighbourhood. I have the same problem. You can be happy that there is almost no traffic in these roads. Here in Belgium I find there is too much traffic everywhere.
Hi lukasz, u are so lucky that u are living in such a beautiful place, u have got that much greenery that i can only imagine for that. i love greenery. the place where i am living has scarce in greenery as the weather is too dry we have rarely rain here but in pakistan there are areas where there is heavy rain and they are lush green like your area. Because of the low rain and dry weather its is highly polluted city, but people are living and mostly don’t think to leave this place because of the attachment with native place. Lukasz you have not told about your family may be in coming posts you tell us about your family. U are a night person, because till late night and even till morning you are busy. i was reading a research recently and I found it true that early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise. Its enough for today write you tomorrow
Hi Lukasz It was a long weekend for me that I didn't know what to do ! lucky you. I wish I could live in a country . your house is so nice! happy you have such a view from your window. we just can see buildings growing up. I'm looking forward to hear about your family ! good luck
Hi Luksaz! This time u did it;). Good work keep it up:). The location of ur home is perfect and u can do lot of sight scenes from there;). The way of spending weekend like this is nice. Bye and have a good day!
Hello Łukasz. I'm happy that a person from Poland is a student blogger of this month. I live in Warsaw but it isn't my hometown. I envy you that you can live outside of the big city. My family often spend spare time in the out-of-town areas. This weekend we were in Popówek where are beautiful woods, meadows and a stable so we were walking along many horses. I must say I adore our country and its nature. By the way, what do you think about our yesterday's match? Have a nice day. Bye.
Hi Lukasz! Hopefuly you´ve had a good sleep today. Luckily, you have managed to put in a great post, yet. The good idea to introduce Pirat here, the pet I would love, too. But, he would stuggle in my small flat so I don´t keep any. However, I would urgently recomend to you a visit to Bojnice in order to experience cycling on roads ful of steep curves here. I need to do something for my weak muscles, too, therefor to exchange the places could suit to both of us. Cheers!
Hi there , This is my first comment Lukasz ( late better than never !) , sorry . And what a nice weekend did you have . Your living place sounds really nice for me . It looks living in a Villa ! I always dream to live in such a place in countryside . I specially liked the flower pot collection in your garden . I always wonder how is living in countryside ? Does it have any disadvantage for you ? In my country if someone wants to live in such a place there would be some problems like , every day shopping , healthcare , telephone and internet connection ( Is your internet connection is high speed ? ) and lots of other problems . As I 'm a greenery lover , I 'm waiting to see more photo of your place and around it and don't feel worry about your Blog Bite space , it 's not matter ! Have a nice week and bye .(plus : If you want i have introduced myself in the Sophie 's first Blog comments , completely )
Hi Lukasz! What a really wonderful view from you back yard! You’re lucky to live in such a peaceful village. 20 km away from city is not so far in my opinion. I do like biking too and my favorite style is cross-country. Regrettable both roads and drivers aren’t friendly to bikers. At the same time it’s much more enjoyable to ride across green forest than along gray road. Who knows if there were absolutely free roads like yours I would enjoy biking road too. Have you ever been biking to Poznan and back? Is biking popular and prolific in Poland as it is in Scandinavian countries for example? I think biking is a part of culture pattern. That’s why drivers respect bikers in EU and disrespect in Ukraine.
i am very glad to have this chance to read your blog, i am a chinese student, and now, i really want to make some friend who speake english
Hi Lukasz, The pictures you posted are fantastic. You really live in a wonderful place surrounded by nature. I like your pet Pirat, it's so cute and you may love him a lot. Pets turn out to be part of our family, don't they? Looking forward to your next blog with photos of Poznan :-) Best wishes, Cristina
Hello Lukasz, what a beautiful place you live in. The best thing I like living at a countryside is that it's always peaceful and calm and second it's close to the raw beauty of the nature. Best wihes, Naheed
Hi, what beautiful photos, Pirat seems to be very nice. Anyway, how many languages do you speak?? and What do you do to improve your English??? so may questions to be answer... Thanks and bye
Hi Lukasz! What a dazzling view you have from your home :-). Apart from that, it seems you´ve had a wonderful weekend in tne countryside. Best wishes, Ana Paula.
Hi, Lovely place. I would like be there. Specially the second one, very beautiful church.
Hello again, my friend I admire your beautiful house and you view outside. I can point out some advantages of living on a countryside for example: nice, quite area, big garden, fresh air but there is one main disatvantage day-to-day traveling to your job, I think it takes a lot of time. Could you share with us and tell us something about that? Currently my house is being built, it isn't far from the centre but the main problem is that a place where the house is placed is very, very noisy because of trucks on the passing roud. I have a hope that some day there will be a diversion and then I will only have some passing cars. Best wishes and see you soon.
Hi Lukasz! It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. Thanks for telling us about it. Your house and back garden are very nice. I see around the house there is soft, green grass everywhere. Who cuts the grass? I am sure, it is you. Do you get any enjoyment from it? Does it take a long time? I think cutting grass is work for men. However, sometimes I also mow the grass. It is great way for me to get exercise. Do you like the smell of fresh-cut grass? I like it. Do you have vegetable garden? This is the first time I am happy that my comment did not appear on your Friday’s entry. Why? I will tell you later. Have a nice day! PS: Pirat is an adorable pet.
