IMPROVING WRITING
Hello Anne and readers,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re not feeling well but happy for having cheered you up. Perhaps you’re a tad nervous and excited about your first movie lesson. Hope you and Raquel feel better soon. Thank you very much for answering all my questions.
About the best way to travel to the beaches, you can go by plane (it only takes 20 minutes), by train, by bus or by car. I can drive but I don’t feel at ease on motorways.
I love castles though I only see them on TV so I’ll take into account what you recommended me.
Your memories about your childhood not only touched me but they reminded me of a movie I watched some years ago as well. It was about a little girl who used to live near a lighthouse and when she grew up she came back and met all her childhood friends.
Tell Steve that there are more beautiful places in the Patagonia where we have’nt been to so far. Here is a link for him www.interpatagonia.com/index_i.html
I tried to reword the following sentences:
-This is the best photo I’ve taken in my life
-It was the first time I’d seen snow
-In Saint Barths we sensed the charm of the French
On one ocassion some of you (readers) asked me about some tips connected with the FCE.
So I want to share something that helped me improve my writing and it’s called LINKING EXPRESSIONS.
TO GIVE INFORMATION you can use other alternatives than “and”
As well as this….

Therefore,
As a result of this
Maybe Anne can add more alternatives or correct them.
Naheed, thank you for teaching me a new expression “itchy feet”. I didn’t know the meaning and looked it up in the dictionary.
James, well done with your adjectives. I couldn’t find all of them.
Mercè, hope your dream becomes true too. You know, we are only separated by that big ocean called Atlantic.
Kuldeep, I congratulate you on your inhouse training programme in English. By the way, what’s an “ITES-BPO”? Thank you very much for explaining the different types of mango. I have no doubt that India is a big mango producing country. I was astonished to learn the different varieties of that lovely and exotic fruit.
Silwal Kishor, I’m sure your country Is very fascinating to travel around it too.
Well my dear Anne and readers, I’ll close for now.
Until tomorrow.
Best wishes,
Cris
PS: How was your BIG DAY Anne?

Dear Cris, today I read about your travells and they were wonderful, beautiful pictures, you look like very happy in all places. I want to say that you know better Brazil tham I,I was born in São Paulo and never had travelled because I was always working a lot, in my country I just visit places around me. Last year I went to London and Paris and I can say that both are wonderful, but London is the best,I walked for many little cities in England, all the cities are beautiful, clean and green and the people are very nice too. I thought everything is perfect. Now , I would like to visit Argentina and Chile. About improving writing, I am learning here. Xxx0 Bernadete
Hello, Cristina. This is my first time that I'm commenting at site. Allways reads for learn more and more. Your post is very nice. Bye (in portuguese tchau)
Hello Cris, first of all, a big welcome from me that you've got to learn a new expression from me. I had learnt this expression from Jo Kent, back in June'07, when I was blogging as a student blogger and Jo as a teacher blogger. I also saw this idiom, just a week ago, in the "Teacher series' on BBC LE in which he is teaching some foot idioms. It's always good to learn from each other, I have also got to learn so much from you just as the way you use alternatives in your posts to give further information or continue your talks. And above all, we get to learn about each others cultures and traditions. Oh, it's just a day away to 30th of April. It's been a wonderful experience of learning about Argentina with you:)Best Wishes, Naheed
Hi Cris and everyone, thank you, I feel happy to answer your question about ITES-BPO (Information Technology enabled services- Business Process outsourcing). Some big companies of developed nations share their workload (especially of non-productive nature i.e. customer services, enquires, recruitment process etc.) by outsourcing it to expertise/efficient/specialist firms which may be situated in their own country or elsewhere in the world so as to reap maximum benefits (expert/efficient services on cheap rates). If outsourced work relates to communication use, the secondary firm (to whom part of work is assigned) is known as Call Centre. It the outsourced work has nothing to do with communication (servicing of equipment, packing of manufactured material), in this case, the firm to whom work has been assigned, is known as BPO. To cater the requirement of trained personnel/employees (who could speak English very well like natives) of ITES firms/companies, some institutions are providing training as per needs of ITES firms (phonetic aspect, pronunciation, grammar aspects etc. of English language to ensure effective & meaningful communication between foreign based customer and a concerned employee). So you may term these institutions as ‘Spoken English Teaching Institutions’ who also provide basic computer training to these students. You might be aware that in India many educated people know English hence you can find many call centers in big cities. Thank you for sharing your knowledge about connecting words (conjunctions) which are very useful for effective and efficient writing.
