Beautiful and sunny Sunday

Hi Anne and readers,

Hope you have spent a wonderful weekend. I’m really moved by the warm welcome and comments from you readers and at the end of my log I’ll answer all your questions.

Today is a perfect autumn day with 30º C (in fact it seems as if we were in summer). Here in Argentina most of the days are sunny.
Oscar and I went to Madero Port and the Ecologist Reserve to walk, relax and take some pictures for all of you. Since I haven’t got a digital camera I’ll have to finish the film first and then bring it to a shop to make them. As soon as I get the photos I’ll attach them to the blog.
Madero Port is relatively new. All the old docks were used to build smart restaurants, cafeterias, offices and buildings. The view is terrific and you can see a lot of tourists there. This place is one of our favourite to go on Sunday mornings because is very peaceful. If you walk 4 blocks down you get to the South Costanera and the “Ecologist Reserve”. We are very keen on walking inside the latter. There are some circuits to walk, cycle or run. The longest has 6 km and we did it several times. It’s very unwinding to walk there surrounded by nature and you can get to the River Plate after walking 15 minutes in a speed of 6 km per hour. Unfortunately the waters are contaminated and it’s forbidden to enter into them but you can sunbathe next to it.

I love my country very much. It has alot of natural resources and people are very friendly. Buenos Aires, as all the big cities is hustle bustle and you have to watch your bag while walking.
Somebody said that Buenos Aires never sleeps and it’s true. Several shops are open ‘till late and on the weekends too. It’s very common to see people enter a restaurant to dinner at 11 pm. Not me of course, at that time I’m sleepy…
There are a lot of international restaurants. Japanese restaurants, actually “the sushi”, are in fashion now. I have to admit that I’ve never tried it yet.
We have a lot of parks and very modern shopping malls as well.

Argentina is very diverse. The north of Argentina is very hot; the south of Argentina (The Patagonia) is very cold. Some of the provinces, specially the north ones are very poor. Patagonia is outstanding! If you want to see snow you have to go to that region. Buenos Aires has the city of Buenos Aires (where I live) and the province of Buenos Aires. I’ve only been to some provinces of my country; Córdoba (located in the middle of Argentina and it’s really beautiful), Misiones (in fact I only went to the Iguazu Falls, located in the north-east), Río Negro and Neuquén (both of them located in the Patagonian region and the places I visited were Bariloche, San Martín de los Andes and Villa La Angostura) I fell in love with these last places and if it weren’t so cold as they are I would go to live there.
I mentioned that if you want to see snow you have to head for the Patagonia but last winter it snowed in Buenos Aires and I could see it from my window!!!

Here are some pictures of that important event.
The first and the third one are of the Pink House (where the President works), the second one is of The obelisque (a monument that was built in honour of the foundation of Buenos Aires)

I’ll talk more about Argentina in my next blogs but feel free to ask me the questions you want.

Now the answers…

Rosalba, thank you for sharing your feelings of homesick and keep brave as you are. I do know that Argentina has a lot of emigrants from Italy. My husband’s grandparents were from Italy. Statistically Argentina is the second country chosen from the Italian (the first one is Germany. In fact a lot of our behaviour comes from Italians.

Suellen, I love Brazil. I visited Rio de Janeiro and Florianopolis. Your beaches are spectacular. Our beaches are too cold and windy.

Adriana, thank you and hello to your family too.

James, thank you for your compliments to my sister and my husband. And yes, it was tough to grow up in a single-parent family. But my father was and is in my mind always.
Not only I have the same name of our president but we are from the same zodiac sign (acquarius). But we don’t have anything else in common.

Vlad, yes there are a lot of foreigners living here and on the other hand, due to the difficult situation we went through, many people went to live abroad (but I know that most of them have come back too)

Chalida, what a coincidence! And welcome to Argentina

Jahanbakhsh Dehghani, hope you can profit a lot from all the blogs

Miao, congratulations on your degree and enjoy your carer. I’ll put some pictures of Argentina in my next blogs.

Pary, thank you for your warm welcome. I wonder how it Is living in Iran.

Anwar, yes it’s true. It’s better to know a country from a person who is living there but of course you get a subjective point of view. I fell in love with your country after seeing the soup opera (the clon). After then I took 2 years of Arabian Dancing. Perhaps I get the plunge and insert a picture of me dancing.

Habooba, thank you very much and I hope you enjoy the blog

Naheed, I’m pleased you like the blog and I’d like to know how is living in Pakistan

That’s all for today. I can’t promise to answer all the questions during the week because I don’t have much time but I’ll try to write every day or at least each two days.

Bye for now,

Cristina

Hi Cristina! What a wonderful pictures! Argentina seems to be a very interesting country :-). Anyway, did you take belly dancing classes? Here in São Paulo arabic dinners with typical dances are very commom. In fact, I have a cousin who dances beautifully the belly dance. By the way, have you ever heard about Tony Mouzayek? He´s a famous singer well known for all the belly dancers around here. His voice and songs are amazing :-). See you, Ana Paula.

Hello Cristina, I’ve never been at Argentina but I’d like to know Buenos Aires and Patagonia. Someone told me there is a tourist trap to see the whales at Patagonia. Could you tell me more about other type of tourism at Patagonia. I know a Argentine family, but, nowadays I can’t keep in touch with them. They are very nice and theirs others relatives is nice too, when stayed here at Rio de Janeiro. Bye

Good morning Cristina from Germany,do you think it`s a good time to visit Argentina at the end of april? We also want to go to the Iguazu Falls. Are they very interesting? My problem is the following. Do you think it`s easy to travel in Argentina as a disabled person especially as a wheelchair driver? Thanks for your comment, Chalida

Hello, Christina. The photos with snow have a particular atmosphere. Have you taken them yourself? They're really good.

Good morning Cristina! It’s really morning in Ukraine and as far as Argentine is six hours back, you’re supposed to read blog in 5-7 hours. I’d ask you to tell us more about outdoor activities, which provides by Argentine’s climate. You’ve mentioned windy coast. A agree that it’s not comfortably for sunbathing but at the same time it’s perfect opportunity for windsurfing! You’ve mentioned cold winter in south part of country, so what about skiing and ice-skating? Is it such popular in Argentine as it is in Ukraine? By the way, “cold south” sounds a bit curious for inhabitants of north hemisphere, doesn’t it? By saying “go south“ we usually mean moving to hot beaches and warm climate. Good bye.

Hi Cris: welcome to the blog!!! I'm looking forward to know more about your life, work, family and country. Something about myself: I'm 45 years old, I'm married and I have a daughter who is 15 old. I'm a lawyer and I work as a civil servant in a public office. I love reading books. As you it's one of my favourite hobbies and I enjoy spending my free time with my family. To learn English is another of my favourite hobbies and since I discovered this blog I practise more and more to improve my English level. I have in mind to prepare the FCE, perhaps next year. I was born in Spain and ever I have lived here. More exactly I live in Catalonia (East of Spain), near Barcelona. I haven't travelled too much in my life although it's one of my passions. How is Buenos Aires; what about level of life? How are the people? Is it a expensive country for visitors? That's all for now. I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Best wishes!!!! Mercè

Hi Cristina , This is a very good start from you and i like to hear more about Argenteena.I like your country and in all world cup(Football) i had been one supporter of your team.Your willingness to write this everyday is also very good and that will help us to know more about your country also.

Hi dear Cristina , What are you up to ? Do you know that me ( in Iran ) and other countries in the north hemisphere are in the start of spring ? Whish season do you like ? I love spring and I like fall because of it 's colors . As I 'm living in a mountain area every year we have lots of snow fall in my proince and last year we had a very clod and chili winter . Can you imagine -30 degree in the nights And there were lots of gas shortage in some city of Iran at that period . You said that your father is from Aleppo, Syria . it's realy interesting . I wasn't sure about it and I surfed the net and I realize that Aleppo city in the Halab city in Siria and I have hear it 's name many times . The Aleppo is the French name for Halab city . could you please speak about your father and how he has come to Argentina a bit ?So you are from Asia ( really interesting , very far from your current world ! ) . thanks for your curious about living in iran . I know there are lots of shortages in Iran and living in Iran is really different from other modern countries . But any way it's a big and rich country . It has a very various climate and there are lots of historical places for visit in iran . I have up loaded some photo of Iran in my face book Id and if you register me as your friend , there you will see some photo of Iran in my photo album . Have you register there before ? have a nice time and bye .

Congratulations! Cristina, your way of writing is nice and smooth and makes one read and read...By the way, is your city an expensive city? How are the prices there? What's the rate of inflation?

Hi Cristina, feeling good to hear from you about your country, last week i just gone through some of the blogs so at last i decided that i should try this with few short sentences and i would like to bring to the notice that this is the first time i i am writing in the blog,

Hello Cristina :-) Your blogs are very vivid and I like them very much. I don't know about your country a lot so I'm happy to learn a little from your blogs. Take care.

Hi Cristina. It's very unfamiliar to me that autumn begins in your country now. Here comes warm days. I visit this site first time today. After seeing your blog, I come to want to make my own blog someday. But, before everything I know I have to read more, study more T_T.. Anyway, Thanks~

Hi dear! Hope you are doing well. What a lovely pics you have posted for us. I've never seen snowfall in my life i mean in reality, what a pity lol. I've noticed that you enjoy all the 4 seasons of your country really great. Your sister is a yoga teacher so i think you would also be a master in it :). Right? Tc and bye

Hi Cris. Beautiful photos. Last winter was very cold in central Chile too, and there was snow in Santiago by then. Your husband looks very argentinian. I can imagine his "porteño" accent. Well, you don't dance tango, and I seldom drink wine (I'm a nonalcoholic person), so don´t you feel bad about it. But I really love seafood. Bye.

Dear Cristina, You are trying your best to give us information about your country and lovely places there. As you mentioned in your post that you are eager to post some more photos in your blog, I’m really excited to see more lovely photos. Your description of Madero Port is able to create an excitement to visit those lovely places. As for me, it is really hard to think to visit those lovely places but I’m sure I can visit virtually by photos and your description. I don’t hesitate to mention that I’m living in the economically poorest country and my saving is not sufficient to afford such lovely places. I’m really enjoying reading about other countries and their socio-economic status, cultural and religious aspects. Certainly at this point of time, we are really lucky that both teacher as well as student bloggers are able write clear description in their writing. We don’t have to think what they are writing. It will be unfair not to mention that your writing style is far better and able to communicate your ideas and thought properly. The most important thing is that you are committed to make your blog informative as well as interesting. Keep it up!

Hi ,Cristina Argentina seems to be a hughe place to vistit, I wonder if I could go there someday! Cheers from México.
