Hi readers!
Hi readers, I'm grateful for the opportunity to be a student blogger in this month and Thanks BBC team.
Now, let me introduce myself. I’m Yanko da Costa. I come from Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, I’m married and have 2 kids.
I’ve been learning serious English for 3 years and I make a lot of mistakes when I try to use English. I hope to improve my English with your help and I appreciate that anyone to correct me.
I’ve started study this language because I lose some opportunity job that one of requirements is to be fluent in English. For my professional, system analyst, is very important to know English, but, most of the time it is enough to know technical English to read.
I have other reason to study English. I hope one day live abroad. I would like to know what are culture differences from my country and to learn about this differences.
I’ve been in other countries like England, USA, France and Italy and I could feel a little bit differences from my culture.
There are some culture shock among places in Brazil imagine among countries.
Trough the Blog I hope to exchange experiences with other readers.
With best wishes,
Yanko.

Hallo Yanko, nice to meet you on this blog. Since I retired 2 years ago i try to improve my English. It´s only just for fun. I became aware from bbclearning when I was in Oxford in 2006. I live in Garmany in Bavaria, 60 km in the south of Munich. Have a nice time and good luck for your challenge, Walter

Hi Yanko, Warmly welcome to BBC LE blog. There have been two Student bloggers who are from Brazil, Ana Paula(Apr,07) and Adriana(Sep,07). You are the third one. And, it means that Brazilians are diligent in soaking up knowledge. see you around this month. Best regards, James
Hello and welcome, Yanko. Your name is a little like one of my sons'. He's called Yannick. I played with his name and called him at least by twenty different nicknames when he was a baby. I would never haver dared call my first child by so many names, because I thought he wouldn't have known which his name was. But Yannick is my fourth child (now adult), I was a more relaxed parent and he seemed to always know I spoke to him when I did so.
Hello, Yanko! Nice to hear from you. It would be great to hear more about your country, place you are living in, your family and your job.
Hallo Yanko, nice to meet you. I hope we will have the chance to better know each other during the next month. I am very interested in your family life. I am from Senegal and I live now in Germany. I am very facinating about differnt cultures but I have no idea how families are organised in South America. I notice a difference between Senegal and Germany. Please tell us more about your family life. Geetings, Samba
Welcome, you live in a beautiful city for its landscape, I have been twice there. I hope that you could improve your english with this blog, but I think that it is a pity that you plan to go to live in another country. Regards Beatriz

Hi Yanko, nice to meet you, your job, as a system analyst, must be very precise and requiring the utmost accuracy. I wonder what type work process you are analyzing? I am sure that we all are looking forward to your next entry, and you are very lucky to have such a good tutor as Trudi is.
Hello, Yanko I´am Hipolito from Spain.I´m looking forward to reading more about you, your city, your job, favourites books, sports and so on. See you soon.
As you say, you have gong abroad many times, and have arrived many countries, so, i think you english is excellent, and you must have good command of the diffetent cultures. Glad to share your experience.
Hello, Janko! It is nice to hear from you. I understood that you are worried about your English and have a hope that working as a blogger can help you. As you were asked everybody to correct your mistakes I have to remark that Trudi have done that already. I can only add some advises. Of course, if you don’t mind. First at all, you have to understand what are nouns, adjectives, adverbs etc. and how you can distinguish the one from the other. For example, if you said that you were learning serious English, it is mean that your English is serious. But I understood that you wanted to say that you were learning English seriously! “Serious” is an adjective and “seriously” is an adverb. First word is answered on the question “Which?” and second on the question “How?” And so on. I think the best variant for you is buying the textbook written by Raymond Murphy “English Grammar in Use” of Cambridge University Press. It is the very useful textbook which I have used myself. I am learning English nearly three years too and I am doing a huge amount of mistakes. Alas! Hope it can help.
as your family , I am also married and 2 kids, some of your ideas are similar to mine, It is very happy to be a newcomer in here ,
