A very short blog tonight
I had an exhausting day, so I will be very brief tonight, besides when I am writing this entry I haven´t received any comments yet, I hope I have not tired you down? Anyway I have added new links for you to have a look at on the subject matters you have requested.
A few quick replies: The Indian cookery book that I talked about is written by Shehzad Husain... and reading your kind response I suddenly remembered Antonio Carlos Jobin, I really used to like him. I also used to listen Joao Gilberto.
The weather in Oulu today has been mild, only – 5 degrees Celsius. Rachel: A special place near my heart is always with me: the time of tranquility and peace to contemplate. So long until tomorrow…

No, no, I am not tired out. My son is working in Switzerland and hasn't yet arrived. There has snowed 30 cm, not here but between us and his working place, so you can see that there is snow elsewhere than in Finland.
Hello again, Leila. Your link about the comparison between Finnish and Hungarian was very interesting. In fact I learnt that there were more words in common than I imagined. I once here in France suddenly listened to a sports event on the TV. I hadn't turned the TV on but someone else in my family. I became scared: It all sounded Finnish but I didn't understand anything. I was afraid having been living for too long in France. But then I learnt that the broadcasting was sent from Budapest in Hungary.
Hi Leila, you never tire us down. I have been busy with my son helping him in his studies. The year is almost at the end and I want to see only good grades. Guess what? He's going to take an English test next week at school. Do you have any tips for him? He says English is very funny. I was trying to make him and his friends sing together with me a christmas song (which is good to hide my voice)to send to Paul but they laugh all the time and the song becomes a mess. I can imagine how difficult is being over 60 degrees of discrepancy between winter and summer. I would die. Take it from me! Once I've got a terrible cold just to climb a mountain not so high due to the temperature. Of course I've heard of Kimi Raikkonen. Actually I was supporting Felipe Massa in this year's competition but the things in Formula One are a bit strange sometimes. I'm eagle waiting for the book Rubinho is writing about his experience in Formula One explanning the things that happens there. However, as Massa was knocked out, I was between Hamilton and Raikkonen. All in all, I was happy with his victory because he at last gave us a wonderful smile what was like a gift. I had a cell phone but here many criminals use the cell phones to do tricks or to get information and kidnap so I was frightened and got rid of it. Now I use a "vesper"( I don't know how to translate) phone. It's more or less like a cell phone. You and your husband seem to be sophisticated and absolutely elegant in this picture and Katri's pictures are superb as always. Thanks Naheed for reminding my humble pictures. I pictures, Leila. I'd like to have a good cam, though and to know how to take good pictures like your daughter. Say hello to Katri and tell her to keep taking more breathtaking pictures for us.
Oh I've forgotten to mention the composers I like most, Leila (and also Ana Paula, you've asked for my opinion...). You'd better let me off the hook because there are lots of good composers indeed as Ana Paula has pointed out. It would be unfair not to mention all the unforgetable names but it's not a secret that I like very much Vinícius de Moraes and Toquinho. Especially the song " Na Tonga da Mironga do Kabuletê". Do you know anything about the history of this song, Leila? It represents those days without freedom of speech and censorship during military dictatorship in my country. One of the composers' songs had been censured and they ironically had made this song to send the people who like censuring others to the "Tonga da Mironga do Kabuletê". They have never assumed this expression was a bad name, it was just an expression in African language( according to them). As nobody knows what it means, they could never be censured. I like also Guilherme Arantes that has always been ahead in time of anyone, talking about nature many moons before this issue of Global Warming. By the way, you have a good taste. João Gilberto and Jobim are great! It's always good to know about the history of your country as I don't know much. Thanks for that, Leila.
Dear Leila, How are you? You both looks gorgeous in that picture. Your husband is a handsome man.Don't worry about the short blog. Everyday you try hard to entertaint us by your blog.Even in your busy schedule you find sometime to write some thing to entertaint us,yes,it is a big job working girl. You are very consistant in blogging.Kind regards.
Dear Leila, I´ll never be tired of our interesting 'blog conversations'. Oh... João Gilberto is amazing. One of my favourite songs of João Gilberto is 'Chega de Saudade'( No More Blues). You know Leila, he´s a bit grumpy. Some years ago in one of his shows, he sunddely stopped to sing and play because there were some people who are disturbing him. He just started the show again when they became totally quiet :-). I hope you can have a good night of sleep. Take care, Ana Paula.
Hei Leila How can you think that you are boring us? You know that your posts are always welcome! I wish I could write more than I do but the thing is that with children sometimes I can't find the time to seat down to write the replay you deserve! For you to have an idea it's 12.37 in the night...I've just finished washing the dishes and I still have to prepare some things for my work! You wrote in your post that the weather is "mild" in Oulu...How can you say that with -5°?? My God! This year only once the temperature reached -5° at the time I had to get up and I nearly decided to stay in bed the whole day. It was so cold for me that I couldn't get a toe out of the bed! Have a nice day!!
Hi Leila! What about education in Finnland? I´d like to know where have you studied, in Finnland, maybe abroad? Here many students go study abroad now, it is allowed since their 15. It wasn´t so easy befor. And I have got to greet you from my mum, and all other participants too. She couldn´t see me for two days because I wasn´t able to put down lots of havy snow from my car. (I would be happy having such a men company around me!)
Dear Leila, I have followed your blog since the first day, but today I send you my first comment, because I have now a little bit time.I have shown the photos in your blog to my daughter and my husband. They were very pleased about the photos, so I am.Especially the tree was very funny. My daughter loves snow, but here in Germany we have very seldom snow. Last night it freezed and some snowflakes fall down, so my daughter was very happy in the morning. I think in Finnland she would be happy the hole day, because of so much snow. I want to say " Thank you" for your interesting blogging , it's nice to read and I like to learn something about Finish way of live. You are doing well! At 10 o'clock I will join my English course and after that I have to go to work, but today only for a team meeting. So I will be back at 16 o'clock in the afternoon and will do some shopping with my daughter. Have a nice day, I'm looking forward to your next blog Christine
Hello, Leila! I am also a little confused about why it takes so long for our comments to appear. Anyway, I am sure they will be put on before too long. I live in the Republic of Udmurtia (it is in Russia) and I dare think that this name is familiar to you as the Udmurt nation belongs to the Ugro-Finnish group of languages. It's funny how two similar languages can live so far appart - I know Russia has the border with Finland but the Udmurt Republic is near to the Urals, in the middle of Russia. It is about the same temperature as in Finland here now (-3-6'c). Not much snow though... Can't wait for New Year! :) Good luck. Ana
Hello Leila, I like reading your blog every day and never makes me bored or tired, please keep writing. It's lively and full of information and vibrant.I have enjoyed your photos and links since first day. Your blog made me very enthusiastic about going to Finnland and especially the fantastic nature of your lovely country. Take care
Hi Leila, As Kirsti has pointed out Hungarian sounds Finnish. I studied Finnish for a while few years ago and once visiting Budapest I had the same impression : Hungarian sounded Finnish but I did not understood a word.
