First snow fell today
When things start going wrong they do so totally; first of all I got mixed up with Marianna and Ana Paula and then I got the name of great Ingmar Bergman wrong. Could one do any worse? Sorry! I hope I am forgiven.
By the way I didn´t know that Nepal had so huge water recourses, thank you Silwal Kishor telling us. Energy production is very important to us Finns, considering our climate; if we were to run out of energy we would die of could in the winter time. So energy is crucial to us here in the North. We in Finland don´t have as big Hydro Power recourses as they have in Sweden and Norway.
Rachel you asked about the winter time photo yesterday, I think it has been taken midday as the sun is as high up as it gets. During our darkest days, we don´t see the sun at all. The picture below has been taken possibly at end of January; that is my guess as the sun is higher up in the sky (going towards spring). This photo has been taken by a business associate Tero Tuohino.

About the home work: Thank you Rachel for your valuable advice; I no longer lack self-confidence and there is less lack of looseness in my writing. I have been doing the same mistakes on the trot far too long. My title today is about snow. What evoked me to choose such a theme? This winter´s first snow naturally. When I am watching sport I don´t know if I am supposed to be with opponent side or favour allies. I find it difficult to name someone, who has made a comeback, maybe Beatle-Paul. As I am not a sport girl, I have never been knocked out in the sport fields, but I certainly have been knocked out by surprise. What really winds me up is when I forget familiar names. It is too difficult for me to say, who is the most good-natured person, but I do know that people who participate in writing this blog must reasonably good-natured folk. Designated seating is very usual for instance in the parliament. In Finland quite easy come by product this time of the year is moose meat. One need a decent exhilaration from time to time, nothing is better than exhilarate yourself by swimming in a frozen river (whole through an ice > avanto in Finnish).
The last picture today has been taken again by my daughter Katri while riding. Carolina from Argentina, do you ride a lot?
Now I am wishing you all a very good weekend, I will be back on Sunday.
Best wishes from working girl Leila

So, so, you are not the only one to get snow; they promise snow here in the east of France for tomorrow.
Hello Leila! Don’t worry too much about mixing things and names up! It happens to me all the time and at the end people realize that you are absent-minded and then they don’t worry about trying to correct you or make you notice your mistakes any more… The pictures you’ve sent are wonderful! Is it extremely cold in winter? Which is the temperature range there? The actual temperature in Salta is 30° C as we are in spring. It doesn’t rain too much at this time of the year, but when it rains, the rain comes down in spades!! In winter the temperature rarely goes under 0° C and on very unusual situations it snows (actually it’s just a kind of sleet)….You asked me about riding horses…I do ride a lot! We have a farm, which is an hour and a half by car from the city, so whenever we can we go there for the weekend and we spend most of the time riding horses. My children who are 7 and 10 years old, are great riders too! Ok Leila…I have to work! Go on writing such great posts!!! Have a nice day!
Hello, Leila! I am so ashamed of my ignorance because I thought that it was the sunset shown in the picture. You can't blame me for this mistake because it is hard for me to imagine the winter's day at the beginning of which the sun doesn't rise or the summer's nights when it is daylight. I am confused about this behaviour of the sun although I try to understand it. What I can understand is global warming which I have experienced. There was no snow last winter, the temperature never went bellow 0 C and there was a severe drought last summer in this country. However, it seems that it will not stop raining this autumn. Which cure should we administer to our planet to help it heal its wounds? If I were a person in authority with any influence, I would impose a ban on driving vehicles and flying planes. The human race would have to manage without them by having to embrace its archaic means of transportation until harmless fuel has been invented. What do you think should be done to overcome this problem? I am aware of the time needed to correct all the mistakes which have caused the pollution, but we have to start from somewhere!
Dear Leila, Don´t worry about that! You can´t imagine how much I mix up the things sometimes :-). The pictures you have posted are fab! I´ve never seen the snow in my life. I wish one day I could see it. It must be a wonderful spectacle, especially the first one :-). So working girl, see you on Sunday. Have a nice weekend you too. Ana Paula.
How are Leila? Along with your interesting writings you are also providing us with beautiful pictures. Thank you for that! I would say Katri has something of an artistic taste in photography.Naheed
Dear Leila! I want to write to you every day for your writing is alvays interesting and thanks for lovely links you provided here! There were times when I read a lot all big skandinavian names of literature, novels about vikings, and Tygrve Gulbranssen "Og bokom synger skogene" was on the list each holiday repeatedly. All Bergman´s films went on slovak terestrial TV chanel in September to his honour. And yes I could see at lenght in the news yesterday what a sad tragedy happend in Finnland. Saddly, such violent things becomming to occure here, too.You has done Rahel´s homework in the great way.
Hello again Leila, it would be great to be able to read something about Finnish food and your favourite food, too. I'm writing this so that you note down my request in your list and you can write about it at any suitable time. Along with this, many thanks (I've no words to express) to Ana Paula, Adri and Marianna, and kisses from me. Adri, give Iago a beary hug and a kiss from me. I'm so glad to be a part of this community. Naheed
Hi Leila, how nice to hear about Finland from your blog. I often hear that your country is very beautiful and peaceful and I wonder how wonderful it is when the snow begins to fall. And there it is in your daughter's picture. Wow, it gave me the feeling of someplace so pure and clean, not like that wet and irritable feeling caused by continous rain where i am living. I hope tomorrow the sun will shine again and you know what, I am so nervous to read more at your end. Have a nice weekend, Leila!
I'm very glad that I get to know about others countries. The photographs are very beautiful. Have a nice weekend for everyone especially for Leila
Hello Leila, as I can see from your breathtaking photos, the Sun is very dominant. I love nature and the Sun. They are sometimes a Doctor for my body and soul. Have a nice relaxing weekend! I am looking forward reading your next message on Sunday!
Dear Leila, First of I like to congratulate for your ---th marriage anniversary though I am late to post you. I was not able to read your post due to unavoidable circumstances and I read your all post starting from 6th November onward and try to write comments as much as possible in this post. I also agree on your argument for development of any nation, sustainable use of natural resources plays vital role and determination of political leaders and social leaders is utmost. Human resources as well as technically know-how, better entrepreneurship, good governess and ample of opportunity, investment friendly environment and positive legal and educational background, are also key factors for development of nations. Though Nepal has huge potential in generation of hydroelectricity, due to lack of above mentioned situation, we are not able untilised it properly. Though political leaders try to assure us that they are in process of developing all necessary infrastructures, but their political movement and their disputes in getting lion shares in political scenario doesn’t support what they are doing and what they are saying. It is really disappointing to hear tragic gun shoot at a school and I pray for them and hope such tragic situations do not occur in future. Your post clearly indicates that you have traveled every walk of life and acquaintance with every situation. You have put up very pleasant photographs and highlighted when and who photographed it. Expecting such a nice photographs and relevant descriptions of them soon!
Amazing.Your descriptions about Finlad made me eager to visit your country. I'll be in Germany next Jaunary I'm going to find a free time to come over there. But for your information, here we in IRAN has very different situation. Since Iran is a vast country every time in year we have alomost four season. When it's snowing in north ,people swim in Persian Gulf in the nice weather. I can't imagine how can People get used to live a long time witout seeing sun!
Dear Leila, thank you for these wonderful photos! With the help of them we can easily imagine your Finland. By the way, do you know that Finnish language is a relative of Hungarian language? I'm eager to read your next comments! Have a nice weekend!
Dear leila, thank you for the amazing photes of first snow in finland, sunset, your loving husband, your pretty lovely daughter katri. I love to read your blog which is interesting and contains different topics everyday. Leila,as I had written in the last comment, yesterday was our hindu big celebration deepavali.Unusully this year we got resonable level of rain.As you have written in one of your blog I would like to talk about global warming and the climate change. If everyone of us on earth aware of this we would be able to overcome this problem as soon as posible. I wonder how do live without seeing sun during sunset days. I could not even imagin that, but you got used to that.As Naheed from pakistan had wrtten, it would be nice if you could share your favourite finns recipe with us. Leila, convey my kind regards to your loving family.I cannot wait to read your next blog. what do you do during the weekends? Do you rest or do more work than weekdays at home.Have a good weekend.
Hello, Leila. I am so glad to write at this blog for first time. I had lack of real practice in communication with someone in english before, so I dont know if my writings is understanable. But anyway I am happy with the chance. I live in Saint-Petersburg, (Russia, not USA) and it is quite close to Finland so may be it is some easier for me to understand what the winter is. Now it is no snow here, but some days before it was snowing, and I my feelings was: "Great, wow, fairy tale ..." I want to subscribe to an opinion of Naheed concerning your daughter's photographing abilities. I wish you great weekend!
Hello Leila! I like to read your blog. Because our countries are the neighbouring countries, I always read with great interest the all articles from the newspapers and lissen to news about your country. I like Finland and I like Finnish language. I´ve been to Oulu and especially the university of Oulu left the good impression on me. And I experienced a polar day the first time in my life. Could you write about how your family is living during the kaamos-time and during the polar days. How much difference is there ? I´m so sorry about the shooting incident in Jokela, our publicity is shocked about it, there is spoken and written much about that tragedy in Estonia´s media.
It is a nice and peacefuly photo congratulation
