Day 1 in Shaastra 2007
Internet centre somewhere in Chennai
October 3
Hi to everyone. Finally I arrived here. Today, I would discuss about my journey from Vizag to Chennai.
We, a group of 3 students, designed the robot ( actually...I should not call it a robot. It should be called as a manually operated Gantry Crane...okay that's a different issue). We started yesterday at 12 O' clock. But the train started at 3 O'clock. I slept all through the journey because I did not have sleep the other night ( In fact, there were no girls in my compartment. That too made me feel sleepy). When I woke up in the morning, we were in Chennai Central railway station. We waited for more than an hour at the railway station. Finally, at 6.30 , the IITians came to receive us. There was some problem regarding the accomadation reservation but got solved within a few minutes. We got the accomadation at the Mahanadi Hostel inside the IIT campus. There is no event today. So, we have ample time to complete our robot.
I asked people about the chances of getting access to net. They said that it would not be provided to outsiders, but would be available outside the campus. So, I walked for nearly half an hour to get to this net centre. I'm not sure that I will blog tomorrow. Because, tomorrow, there are many events in robotics. I thought of uploading the photos of our project. But, no time today. I try to do it tomorrow or day after tomorrow.
Well...some replies to reader's comments:
@Paulraj from India: Vanakkam( hello ) Paulraj. Your city is nice. I think of visiting the city today. I'll discuss about that tomorrow.
@Nikolus from Bangladesh: Hi...Nikolus... Welcome to this wonderful site. You'll learn a lot here.
@Marianna from Slovakia: Thanks Marianna... I hope for a good performance here. Your comment is energetic and jocular too....
@Ana Paula from Brazil: As today, there are no events, I could not write about them. The Robotics events start from tomorrow. I will wrtie about them and even thinking of uploading the pictures too..
@Adek from Poland: Adek...nice to see you here. After all, we are human beings. We should love other human beings too.. So, I ask you all to follow GANDHIGIRI.
@Jarek from Poland: Thanks for the comment. English is an interesting language. Here, you commit as many mistakes as you can so that others will correct you. Don't feel shy to speak and write English....
Well...that's it for today...
Rachel...why can't you upload the picture of Owen?
signing off....

First I thaught too you were female, but now I know better ;-). I read the blogs you´ve written till today now as I haven´t had time to read here in the blogs in the past days. What is this event you take part in? A kind of a competition? And I hope you´ll get your robot finished and have success. Looking forward to reading more and enclosing best wishes from Germany, Yvonne

Hi Satya! I am very happy after read that you are participating in competition of Robotics in Chennai. In the India, Robotics field is not much developed. It is very good thing that you are interested in this. From your blog I understand your difficulty and hardship. India is a very big country and very dense populated (Population of the India is more that 1.00 Billion, second highest in the World afrer chaina). Satya and all the LE friends my English lenguage is very poor, but I am trying to learn it.
Hi Sathya, It is a pleasure to meet you at the blog. Welcome as a student blogger. Even if you are away from your home town you write every day. This show us You are very dedicated and motivated person.I appreciate that. Your robotic project sounds very interesting. I think that you will realy enjoy to see other people works at the conference.I am looking forward to see the pictures of your robotics in the next blog. Good luck. kind regards. Tiasha
Dear Satya, I am really ashamed not to write you about your blog. I read all the blogs in proper day but due to lack of concentration and time, I couldn’t reply you. I am interested to know about robot show. Story about Gandhigiri is interesting and I heard a lot about Gandhigiri in Nepal also. Most of the politicians belonging to Neplai Congress used to talk about Gandhigiri but most of them do not apply in their real life. I really want to thank you for your post today in spite of long journey and getting trouble to arrange accommodation for your group.
Hello Satya. Good luck in your event and I hope your robot (or manually operated Gantry Crane?) "does the trick"! Success to you and your colleagues. Bye
Hi Satya! Thanks for answering my comment :-).It seems you going to have a busy day tomorrow. Well, I hope you could find able time in your hectic agenda to blog and tell us how the event is going. Best wishes, Ana Paula.
Hi Sathya, Your name is very nice, and your smile is nice too :). You mentioned about a robot competition. It reminds me of Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2007 that was hold in VietNam last year. If I have no mistakes, you're starting the Nation robot contest India for the 2008's competition, right? I hope I'll see you in the final of Robocon 2008 in Pune :) (on the television). If you don't mind, please tell me what the word "GOVINDA" means. Good luck!
Hi,Satya!nice to see you here. This is my first comment here.I am learning english and japanese through like this great website alone. I would visit here to study english. and I have read a lot of story and comments in this website. That is helpful to me. I hope to hear about satya's travel and be corrected my wrong english by many other people.
Hi Satya,I am really enjoyed reading your blog and I hope all the best for you in your journey .
Hi again Satya, I wish you luck in your robotic event. Remember to post a picture of your robot;) Best Regards!
Hi Satya...As you can see from the comments, We are all waiting to see photos of your gantry crane (let's call it robot, it's easier)and we all wish you good luck!. Thank you for your detailed description of your train journey and arrival in Chennai. Bye
Hi Satya, How are you? How is your SASTRA? I have read in the newspaper about this in the last tow days. Some professors have invented new devices in connection with telecommunication. It is good news. How long will you be in Chennai? Actually I am in Karaikudi that is 350 kms from Chennai. I was in Chennai for few years when I did my post graduation. I visited IIT Chennai at that time. It is really a nice and huge campus. They have grown lot of trees inside the campus. You can see the Anna University opposite to the IIT. You can get pleasant feelings when you enter in to the campus. The Raj Bhavan, the resident of the Governor is adjacent to IIT. We can see lots of trees in the vast area. The whole surrounding is greenish. I like the atmosphere there. But you can see the other part of Chennai. I will tell you about next time.
Hello Satya! I glad hear about your experiences in your blog. I hope see more photos about your country and your robot :)
Hi, great to hear from you that you are in Chennai, technical symposium. I am wondering how it is interesting and I have waited to know more about your project. See you next time.
Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
