Looking forward to reading about Jo's Pets

Hello Jo, and all

I could not post my entry on Wednesday and I feel bad about it. I want to make the most of becoming the student blogger of June.

Jo, thank you so much for your kind wishes. This time again, I will try those phrases. Yes (:-)), that's me who drops articles such 'a' and 'the'. I often find myself get stuck with articles, probably say, some of the times I get to the right ones and some of the times I mess with them. I will try my best to correct my mistake which you've pointed out.

'A father or any member of the family says call of prayer in a baby's ear.'

'Venus, you have lost 8 kg to fit in your wedding gown, if you didn’t leave your habit of eating chocolates and creamy pastries, your weight will come full circle.'

'Fish and ginger seem like strange bedfellows, but they go well when fried on low flame.’

Jo, the animal you’ve described in your riddle is a cat, isn’t it? This time we all want you to talk with us and tell us more about yourself. As how do you spend your weekends? What major differences you find in the life in a big city and at the countryside?

A big THANK YOU! To all the readers who take time to read my blogs, and write their nice and friendly comments. Your comments are always welcome

Ana Paula, I really liked your saying and, you are right, as learners of English we must give a try to read the works of Shakespeare in English. I read the works of great writers in easy English which I can find in the form of the books which are designed for the students at school and college levels. I also read them on the internet, there are lots of online libraries that offer the classics of the most famous writers. I also searched for the pictures of Brazilian mangoes, they are fantastic with red blushes. I had once read that Brazil is growing its orange orchards and very soon, it is going to be on top of the list of other orange producing countries. Ana, next time I will post the pictures of my sketch work.

Marainna thank you so much for your kind comments. In the year 2003, the first time I came to know about The BBC learning English and, the service I had subscribed to was an email discussion group which was closed last year.

Pilar, you asked about my name as how is it pronounced? It’s: (na: heed)

Hoyshil, your comments are always welcome. Thank you:-)

Benka, the beach in Karachi is also known as The Clifton beach. It is surrounded with some memorable places built under The British rule and is worth visiting.

Leila, it’s really nice to know that your name is Persian too, and yes, we are like sisters because of this. How did you find your friend from Karachi like whom you worked in London with?

Thanks Ketabme.

Katy, first of all thank you so much for your comments. As you asked, in Pakistan, whether people use English in their everyday life. I would say, those who know, speak confidently and even those who can’t speak well, they try their best and don’t feel shy about making mistakes. There are some who are extremely shy learners. About me knowing Persian, I know a little bit not much.

Thanks Wisarut, I will definitely write more about Pakistani Food and Yoga as well.

Marco, I also welcome you.

David, your comment is very informative about Taipei. I will surely write more about my city.

Thanks Seacloud for your kind wishes.

Hi Naheed! It´s really nice to hear from you again! Today, I waited anxiously for your blog. It´s indeed a pleasure to read it. Well, today in Brazil is a religious holiday ( Corpus Christi), so I didn´t work, which was good because at least I had one day to rest, thanks God! Uh-huh, you are right, orange producers are working hard in order to reach the top of the orange producers list. Ah! Besides Shakespeare, what are your favourites writers? What do they write about? Please, let me know! :-) PS- I´m looking foward to seeing your pictures. All the best, Ana Paula.

Hi, Naheed. You don't need to feel sorry for yourself at all. You've been busy since you became the student blogger last week, haven't you? Taking a rest and having a cup of tea or coffee make you more energetic! By the way, what kind of snack do you usually have with tea or coffee? I prefer tea to coffee. I mean, Japanese tea. Only when we drink the tea, we don't put sugar in. I like rice crackers which are slightly salted or flavored with soy. Are there any similar Pakistani crakers in there?

Hello Naheed, I agree with you about articles. I have very funny instance to share with you. We have to write reports for our work, scientific stuff, one of my friends, who is also having trouble with articles, once got bad remark from supervisor, about not paying attention to articles in reports. Next time, not knowing what is correct and what is not, this friend of mine, put lots of articles everywhere in the report...evenif there were not needed...and when it went for correction, came out with note that though articles are free, please use it caution...and whole manuscript was red with only correction of articles. I also find it difficult about how to use the articles. Hope Jo will help us out. I am just not sure when to use the articles, like a friend of mine. I think you write pretty well. Cheers. Manas

Hi Naheed :-) Reading your blogs I'm sure that our languages must have something in common. For example the problem with articles: we haven't got articles so lots of Polish learners, and also those who think they know English very well, quite often use them incorrectly. I can't help but get the impression that your blogs are written by a Polish girl. Why? I don't know. Maybe because our countries are in some way similar to each other: you've got the sea and we've got the sea, you've got the mountains and so have we; the same with forests and lowlands. I'm getting too sentimental, so I must say 'bye for now!'

Naheed the old work friend of mine from Karachi, during my London years, was a very pleasant and well educated man. I am not able to say his name here for the reasons we all understand (anonymity). All the best for your blogging!

Dear Naheed! How lovely to see your reply to me. What a pity I didn`t manage to work with computer sooner. I go ahead in this reluctantly, I am unprogressive I afraid. But you are right, this BBC site offer us big possibilities to find a lot for our English knowledge and save the need to search the teacher elsewhere. And I suppose you are right that Jo could have a cat. All the best!

Hello there. Nice to meet you again . To be honest I would like to talk a littel bit with my virtual friends and you . When the last four months ,in my campus had an international program in order to welcome many American students who interested in Thai culture are leaded the life for a period of time in Thailand. I was glad ,when I heard this program from my old friends who familared with joy program before. Thus I applied for firstly person in this program in those day. Until now I am interviewed and looking forward to answering back via my cell phone and my E-mail either . Today on June/08/2007 , they promise me to declare international flatmate ,but even now they did not. I feel terribly sorry for this chance. I suppose that interviewer may be cheat my promise. I imagine that if I gain to take part in program , I will pracise speaking English. Even today my dream does not come true , I promise I never give up to practise English. In other word , I love learning English very much. In this comment I think it does not relate to this topic but I accept I get stress out . And I feel better and better... Thank you very much everybody who read a long comment < To keep your finger cross >
