Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Hello there,
Bartek from Poland asked about ‘Tai-chi’ & ‘martial art’. Srk from India asked ‘What’s popular in Taiwan’. I am telling you, my friends, that martial art is popular in Taiwan, but it is just popular among aged people that they do the martial art as a soft and healthy exercise in the early morning. And Tai-Chi is one of Martial art.
The popular Chinese term of the martial art is Kung Fu. Kung Fu man can do anything that you can imagine, like whatever Harry Potter can do.
Someone who wants to be good at Kung Fu needs to practice a bunch of time. If you don’t have that much time, you are out. Of course you should have a talent and need an excellent master.
We don’t have many Kung Fu experts in Taiwan, and not every Taiwanese can do Kung Fu. Now, if you ask me:” Are there top masters who are extreme proficient master in Kung Fu in Taiwan?” To be honest, I really have no idea.
There was a famous song which name is ’Kung Fu fighting’ which was performed by Carl Douglas who is a Jamaican-born singer, The song ‘Kung Fu Fighting” hit number one both the US Billboard Chart and the UK Singles Chart in 1974. The lyric begins with:
Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightening
But they fought with expert timing
Now, if some one who is non-Chinese asks me ’ Are you proficient in Kung Fu?’ I will tell him/her:’ No, I am not. A Kung Fu Fighter is a person who has a mighty power who can have many hairs on his/her head. See my head, I am as bald as a coot who need to buy toupee, do you think it’s possible for me to be a Kung Fu fighter?’
Actually I have been reading many fiction Kung Fu novels, I do love them. Generally, the figures of Kung Fu fiction novel, especially the protagonist, have mighty power like:’ stretch their hand out and immediately kill a dozen people around them in the same time.’ or ’ have a interior power that it can heal themselves and prevent themselves from being bald.’
I don’t have the power of Kung Fu most of time, only once.
This one was-------
James squatted down under the tree and was stretching his hand out slowly, palmed out and pointed at a little kid who was standing at a distance of 15 meters away. (James showed his gesture of Kung fu)
The kid was pulled by an impalpable mighty power of James (James was murmuring ‘come here, come here, come here’),
James strengthened his ‘power’ on and on constantly.
Gradually, closer and closer, the kid unconsciously walked to James step by step.
Finally, James had caught the kids in 10 seconds; he felt that he was so powerful of his Kung Fu, he said:’ I got you, my little sweet daughter, well done, yoy made me feel that I were a super man, hm... kiss..Hmm... kiss, give me a bear hug.'
-------
Harry Potter (a series of fantasy novels by English author J.K. Rowing) is similar with the Chinese fiction Kung Fu novel.
Love always,
You got power, you got responsibilities.

I love your story about you think you became a superman when you could make the little daughter who came nearer you .Is this truth ? I surprise very much when I know the mighty power of Kung Fu .I have admired how people know about this martial arts
I like it very much when you tell us such useful information about Kung Fu. To tell the truth, I've never seen a real person performing Martial art, but watching many experts on Chinese film helps me draw in my mind the picture of their showing their mighty power. I think it would be helpful for anyone who has never know anything about Kung Fu to watch the famous film Kungfu Hustle, right? Thanks a lot for ur writing!!!
Hi James! I´m a big martial arts fan. In fact, I´ve used to practice Judo, however, due a problems in my right knee I´ve had to stop my Judo classes. Well, nowadays I practice Body Combat, an activity which you only simulate some martial movements while a powerful song is playing, and in order to relax, I practice Body Balance, which is a mix of Tai-Chi, Pilates and Yoga movements, and it´s an excellent way to balance your body and soul. Oh... By the way, I enjoyed very much reading your Kung-Fu story today. It made me remember the Bruce Lee films that I watched when I was a child. Best wishes, Ana Paula.
Hi James, I love your way of writting. You are really witty bolgger. There is almost no mistakes in your essay and full of humor as well. I suggest BBC to select you as teacher bolgger for next month. I am pretty sure you will be competent for the job.All the best

It is strike to me that Kung-fu fighting is due to has the similarity movement , the strong , flexibility of body as many as MUY THAI ,YOGA and so forth. Actually I prefer reading all bloggers and comments. And I hope you are to persist on talking a lot of hilarious story as well. Cheer up !!
When I was a child, I always dream that I can fight like Jet Li,Kick like Bruce Lee and punch like Donnie Yen. As time go by, I know that they are legend and no one can compare with them.
Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
