Hello there,
There is always one more chance to learn English.
I am James, live in Yilan County, Taiwan, born in 1956, prosecutor, my wife is Wendy Liu, Kelly and Kitty are my 2 daughters. And…… I got to prepare 31 days energy for surviving on this blog.
I have 2 things to say about above paragraph：
【1】 First thing is “Hello there,”：
It confuses me all the time (R1), I am not very sure to call people in every occasions in English. I considered many words to say hello to you guys, such as “Ladies and gentlemen”、 “Dear English learner in the world”、”Dear Madam and Sir”、”Hello everyone/everybody”、”Hi/Hey Man”、”Hi/Hey you guys”, Finally, It came up to me, Irine Peng （R2）used “Hi There,” once she emailed to us, so I use it, because her English is better than mine.
【2】Second one is “Yilan County、my home”、”Taiwan”：
In the old time, as to introduce Taiwan, I have to tell you “Taiwan is located in East Asia , off the coast of mainland China, south of Japan but west of the end of Japan’s Ryukyu Islands……..etc”, description by many words, then, you probably do not have any image of it . Nowadays, people can check it on internet, furthermore, with google earth or other application, you can locate it if I tell you the longitude and latitude. So, the following is the information of Taiwan and my home which I want to tell you(You'll see I take my hat off to you).
Taiwan：23°41'52.12"N、120°57'37.85"E
My Home（Yilan City, Yilan County, Taiwan）：
24°45'24.96"N、121°45'53.62"E
Everything has its good sides and bad sides, I want to push myself to face the good sides. I am a non-English speaker and not a proficient English speaker（R3）, it is a privilege to have the honor to be the BBC Learning English student Blogger of May 2007.People who are English speaker could not be the one.I come to here as “Newbie”、”Hooky”、”Infancy”, so, I post some kid's photos on my firsl blog, it's means I am reborn here. Hopefully, it would be a great start for me and everybody. Maybe I’ll try to post video or audio file some other day.

（R1）I have learnt English since I was 12,quiet a long time, but I have not being abroad to learn English. This means I am a Taiwan local English Learner.
（R2）.Irine Peng, my niece, Taiwanese, had lived and studied in New Zealand for around 10 years, now is in Chicago, US. Incidentally, everyone who I know will have your name on this Blog probably（no assumed name）, just like
Kelvin Peng, who is the younger brother of Irine Peng ,Betty Liu, your mom, requested us to speak your name in a right way, because many Chinese cannot speak “L” well, we often call you “Kevin” without “L”. and ke”l”vin, tell Rod Peng, your father, that I appreciate him all the time for he taught me many （include English）,for the classic sentence：”Correct me if I am wrong.” it is a very useful and polite sentence that I can use, I have used it many times because I want to speak English politely. Writing to here, it seems that I am giving a speech after I got the winning of BBC Learning English blogger. whatever, put it in the good side, everybody can pursue to be a monthly Blogger, if you win, you can do the speech. By the way, Ke”l”vin, say hello to Amy Peng, you know who she is, if you don’t, Betty Liu will hit your bottom of body（I cannot say bad words）.
（R3）Since I am a non-English speaker, it would not your fault if you read my blog and don't understand any bit of it what I am talking about. Then, take my article as The Da Vinci Code, It's doesn’t matter, because, Anyone can correct me, and, I write this blog as my own, don’t won’t find anyone to write for me, or to modify、decorate、and etc.

Hi there! I'm new on BBC Learning English website and it's really nice to have the opportunity to meet a Taiwanese. I’d like to ask you some questions if you don’t mind. What is your native tongue? Is it possible to write something in it using english keyboard? Are you a Buddhist? Is living in Taiwan expensive? I guess Taiwan countryside looks good, so it would be nice if you could post few pictures of it. I also would like to see how you live, so post some photographs of people, buildings, animals, etc., if it is not a problem of course. ;) I hope you will have fun blogging here. Hi James, Nice to see your blog here. It does a heavy burden to write a blog regularly, not to mention writing it in English for a not-native-English speaker. But it is a great opportunity to practice your English and communicate with other people in the world via it. I am really jealous! :)

Hello; it's really pleasant to read you; I don't speak english very well, I need practice probably; but, I'm happy because I understand a little what you say; it's more difficult for me to write or speak than read... I don't have much vocabulary!!! I am going by google earth, look where you live! it's on the other side of earth!!! Hello James, It's great to see your message here. I am also Taiwanese and borned in YiLan county. Although I am working in Taipei now, most of my family and relatives still live in YiLan. When I have vacation, I always come back to YiLan and enjoy the beautiful and relaxing place.

As you mentioned, I can't agree with you anymore. There are lots of chances to learn English. Although we aren't native English speakers, we still can learn English well in Taiwan nowadays. You said you are optimistic. I think it is helpful to face with difficulties, such as the typhoon destroying many places in Taiwan few days ago. I hope everything will be better day after day. Thank you for your writing on BBC.
