A hectic day!

Hi Alex, and hi everyone.

How are you today?

Hey! It´s really good to know that your toothache is better. Nobody deserves to have this kind of pain.
Ah... Even with toothache you put your egg to roll ( Can I say that?)! The egg-rolling seems to be a very funny traditional, I would enjoy roll my egg down the hillside, however, I have to confess that I can´t draw anything.
Hmm... so you have a cousin called Lydia, and she´s four. Once I talked about my family, could you talk a little about yours? Do you have any brothers or sisters? Please let me know.

Today I´m tired. My feet are aching. I had to prepare many reagents in order to
analyse the baths, and after that, I had to analyse them, therefore we are facing some problems in the production line, so I couldn´t stop even to have my coffee break! All the time people are calling us ( the lab staff), asking us if we found one way to solve the problem, and we don´t. I feel quite frustanting when I don´t have the answers. Have you ever faced a difficult situation in your job?

Some of you asked me if I´m reading some interesting book. Actually I am. The book is Brick Lane, by Monica Ali, and I´m reading it in English. It was a recommendation of our previous teacher blogger, Stephen Keeler, and I´m enjoying very much! By the way Paul, could you drop few more hints about what Stephen will be doing, hmm? What do you think?

Soyoung, of course I remember you, and I remember all that beautiful pictures that you showed us. I was so glad to see your comment in my blog. I started to follow those blogs in January, when you were the student blogger. After that, I didn´t write very often, sometimes I sent some comments to Webcast. Those blogs are my classroom. I began to develop my writing skills here. My native language is the Portuguese, and I don´t have much contact with the English language, once I have English classes only twice during the week, and I´ve never been abroad Brazil, so BBC LE is my link to the English world.

Just one more thing. I´d like to say ( write) to Sawai from Thailand that I wouldn´t want to be rude calling you virtual friends. Indeed we are friends, and sorry, I won´t call you virtual friends anymore. Ok?

Good night, have good dreams,

Ana Paula.

Hi Ana Paula, the number one student! I think your writing progress is scalating. Congratulations! You seem to be an irreplaceable and hard-working employee. I hope you and your team find the best solution for the problem. There is nothing offensive in "virtual friends". I consider you a virtual friend as well as a friend. I have found your attitude about this adorable. It shows your complacency. A kiss for you, Stephen (we are missing you!), Soyoung, for BBC LE team and for everyone. Good night!

I am sorry to hear that you are facing problems at work. Me too! My boss is like his counterpart in the film The Devil Weas Prada! I am always doing the best I can, but hardly satisfied him.

Hello Ana!How are you? Your name reminds me of the principal of my school called Ana Desouza. I am enjoying your blogs since first day, infact,I enjoyed all the previous student bloggers and teacher bloggers, but, I confess I never happened to write a comment.

Hi Ana Paula and everyone As we all are “friends” via Internet, is the term “Moklof” familiar to you? Apparently it means “Mobile kids with lots of friends.” It sounds Ana Paula that your work is demanding, but interesting. All the best to you Moklof people.

TWO THINGS Hello everyone, I hope you are enjoying this month's blogs as much as I am. I never expected to learn so much about dentistry and tooth treatments or find out about words like 'Moklof'. I now need to use these things in conversation to see how people in London react. And on to other things... 1) Blogger Competition We've launched the competition to find our new blogger for May. If you are interested then visit our competition page to find this month's questions. 2) Stephen Keeler Ana Paula, an answer to you question. Stephen will be writing a column every two weeks about anything that interests him. So I'm sure they will be varied and very interesting. There will also be a comments system, so everyone will be able to write in with their views and opinions. The first column should appear next week. Bye Paul

Hello, Ana Paul! I don’t understand what you mean with “analyse the baths” Ok! I can come up with that it sounds like you are a chemistry- or lab-person, working some were in a mill or factory. What do you say, am I close ore not, is it worm or cold? Anyway, I couldn’t stop from thinking of a bath tube, and after one has taken a bath, pick a sample for analysing the bath water. But I understand that it wasn’t in that way. Maybe I have been to lays to read your earlier blogs? Of course I had met difficulties in my work, but some time afterwards it’s all forgotten. In Sweden we have a way of sating that. It goes like this “What does it in a matter of hundred years”. About books! I also read books in English. It’s great. I enjoy them twice as much then the Swedish ones, because ½ of the pleasure lie in the exotic (for me but don’t likely for an Englishman) language and the other part in the story itself. I haven’t red any book of Monica Ali, but I’m going to look it up on Internet Amazone.oc.uk. If I may tell you which book I would recommend, I should propose “Shutter Island” by Dennis Lehane. Good day, Leffe

Hi Ana Paula, it's great to read your blog. One interesting thing I'd like to tell you: I have a friend by the same name as yours and she's involved with chemistry too. Only she is a teacher, so she doesn't work in a lab. Would it be that people by the name of Ana Paula all like chemistry?(laugh) . Sometimes I like to think that there's some kind of thread linking everything and everybody. It's amazing the coincidences we see if we pay attention. Perhaps I'm just digressing, but it's fun to do that sometimes. Bye and keep up the great blog.

Hi Ana and friends (virtual or not), I’m sure you soon will find one way to solve that problem. I think some problems at work are just a kind of challenge that helps us to improve ourselves. I bet you will do your best and defeat it. Best wishes. Alinor

Hi Ana Paula, I am quite newcomer to this fantastic possibility to read, write and practise English. In fact to be honest and to stay in the wave (move) I think I should dedicate at least between a half and one hour a day reading both blogs and comments .Acquiring new words, expressions and trying to retain them. In anyway it is very challenging and I will try not to miss the train. At the beginning I do not thing I will intervene very often I know myself and I need to be more, I do not want to say concerned, integrated maybe impregnated in the atmosphere of the “group”. I agree with you that even if it is true, virtual friends seems quite immaterial friendship. Whe I was younger there were pen-friends because of the “pen” maybe we should find another term like “keyb-friends”, “web-friends”, “blog-friends” etc. sky is the limit.

Ola, Ana Paula! It's nice to see you as a student blogger. Your blog is marvelous. I'm looking forward to knowing more about life in Brazil. Keep on up and good luck.

Hi, Ana Paula! I do understand how you are feeling after such a hectic day when you even have not had enough time to drink coffee or make a short break. By the way do you think unstressful job exists which won´t make you feel worried, anxious, stressed? I cherish the thought that finally I´d find out what I would really enjoy doing. Our life is endless process of learning and now I am trying to learn how to handle stressful situations at work. I am also keen on reading. It is nice you´ve already started the list of books recommended by Stephen Keeler. I am only going to begin with it. Good night!

Hi Ana paula,It is a pleasure to read your blog every day. You are very consistent and self discipline person, because you write your blogs everyday in any circumstances. Your job sounds very interesting and demanding. One of my cousin works in a pharmasutical company as a technician.Sometimes she says Oh!today I didn't get the right result from my experiment,so I have to do again tomorrow. It is time consuming experiment. I think you have to be very paitient in order to do this kind of experiment. Hi Ana to be honest with you I don't read any story books, because I don't have time to read, but I read magazines such as reader's diggest, times and news week if I have time to know about world what is going on around the world. Could you let me ask a question from Adriana? Hi Adriana, I am Tiasha ,you may have seen my name in comments. My question is : My husband went to his dentist two weeks ago to clean his teeth, first the dentist took x-ray and said you have phyorrea in three teeth, You have to pull out these three teeth otherwise it will spread everywhere and you will loose your teeth. He is going to pull out affected teeth next week then he will treat the affected area. Is this a right treatment for phyorrea, and give me some knowledge about this. Thank you in advance. Kind regards.

Answer to Tiasha: It's difficult to say without knowing the clinical and radiographic findings but his procedure makes sense. Why don't he look for second opinion if he is in doubt? I think it would be a good idea. My advice is only to take all the pre-operatory precautions recommended by his dentist, ok? Good luck to him. Bye

I'm the new one ,I'm gald to make friend with you

it is a very interesting family to join a usual virtual friend anna Pauls i am off much interest to be contributing in blog

Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
