Tuesday, nearly the week-end!
FROM JULIETTE
I'm very pleased to know that my two hours and a half spent writing my blog on Saturday have paid back. However, I'm hoping to be able to write quicker sooner. It's so frustrating sometimes but I must admit that after publishing my blog, I had a great feeling of achievement. Now, it seems that I should write like that everyday but I don't believe it'll be possible. It can be compared as cooking a cake. Some are good and quick to prepare, some are very good but harder as it will need more time and more ingredients.
As an example, here is an easy recipe of what we call a "Quatre quarts" in France. It's delicious in the morning and takes only few minutes to prepare and 30 minutes to cook. As the name tells, it's four part of four ingredients.
All you need is Eggs, sugar, flower and butter. The measure is 4 eggs, 100g of Flower, 100g of Sugar and 100g of butter.
You put it all in a bowl, mix it, put it in a cake tin and cook it for 30 minutes at 200 Degrees. 30 minutes later, took it out of the oven, wait a little before serving it for tea time or Breakfast...
It's what I call comfort food for me. So today, my writing will be comfort food as I don't have time to write but I still want to communicate with you, my virtual friends, because I really enjoy reading all your comments.
Have a great evening and see you tomorrow
Juliette

Hello Juliette. Thank you for your "Quatre quarts" recipe. Nevertheless, it reminded me a bad experience in my life. Once a friend gave me a recipe that was similar to this. It was four of every ingredients. The unique problem is that she wrote 4 spoon of wheat. Handling that recipe, I was feeling the best cooker of the planet so I tried to impress my ex-boyfriend with my culinary skills. In fact he asked me if I was sure it was 4 spoon of wheat for twice. I answered: "Of course, I did this for several times. I can do that even with my eyes closed!" Summarising, the cake was thin like a paper. It was an embarassing situation but he said it was delicious. Nowadays, if I casually meet him at street, he will probably remind me about that with a joke and a smile in his lips as usual.
Hello Juliette, it's nice that you still find time to write the blog. Ufortunately i can't read it regulary due to lack of time but when i get chance to visit the site i find many great things and interesting issues tackling by you. And today again, although you couldnt write long one, your blog is usefull i found an easy recipe to prepare something new and not requiring big skills, as I'm a student living at the moment on my own its hard to vary my diet..So tomorrow's morning im going to try it! Best wishes.
Hello Juliette! I love it bake cake, and then of course eat it. I use to call "caketerapy" because prepare cakes is something that really relax me. Moreover when you are with friends there is nothing better than prepare a nice cake for tea time, and have a great afternoon sipping tea and tasting a delicious cake bake by yourself while you enjoy your good friends company.I have a similar cake recipe. The difference is that mine add 100ml of milk and three eggs. It´s delicious! Best wishes, Ana Paula.
hi Juliette, food is always a good topic to talk about :) at least for me, since I have an easy "yes" for whatever can be eaten. Thanks for the recipe, it seems to be a good cake! I'll try to cook it. Actually, I prefer salad food, and even if I'm not a sweet specialist cook, the thing that encourages me is that you said it is easy and quick to do and that it's comforting. And I need something comforting after so much "downsizing" and "long-hours" work and "workaholic" boosses and stress ;)
Hello ! When I read your matter ,I appreciated your seriousness and interest to work and simoltanously I remind my mother s cooking cake and her interest to prepare different kinds of confectionaries. This is very nice way for learning English for me and my father to read such a texts and enjoy these opportunities. All the best.26 feb.Tehran.Rasoul Rahimy.

Hi.. JULIETTE Really I’m pleased to get your today blog. I don’t know you would believe me or not, before 27.02.07 your last blog was on 24.02.07 that’s mean here 3 days gap but those 3 days I have checked 2 times in everyday for your blog. So I think your understanding me how I’m feeling happy to get your today blog. I wish you should write everyday blog in your busy time. Best wishes
Hi Juliette, I'll sure try baking that cake some day. I'm not much of a cook. But I've tried to follow recipes before and it didn't turn out so bad. The only problem I have when I'm in the kitchen is when the recipe says add salt, or sugar, to your taste. This is the problem for me. I never know what amount to add. Then usually it turns out into something nobody can eat. But as your recipe has nothing I have to add to my taste, there will be no problem. Thanks again. it's been very nice to follow your blog. Bye for now.
Hi Juliette. It's so nice to be back after a couple of days off on holiday. You mention you would like to come to Brazil and ride along the Amazom river which is definitely a great adventure, however, I must say that our coast is also worth visiting.I've just come back from the south coast, Santa Catarina, and I was astounded by such beauty. You can find a mixture of very powerful sunshine, beautiful light green cold sea, handsome urban youth, naive local and rural people, hills covered with a flowery meadow on top and surrounded by huge rocks at the bottom which are caressed by the sea waves, cattle grazing while surfers paint their art in the sea among the waves. How much I envy the poets and writers who can easily put into words all the beauty they see and feel. As I'm far from being a great writer, in this case, I invite you to search the google for "Costa Franca" and savour some of the beauties our country can offer and that my words can't express. Words actually fail me... By the way, I loved the quick recipe you sent us. Like you, I love both cooking and eating, therefore I didn't miss the chance of trying it out immediately.Simple though it was, it turned out into a yummy cake, so yummy that everybody here welcomed it washed down with a cup of Brazilian coffee! You actually made our afternoon teatime yesterday. Thanks a lot.I hope you make use of more metaphors so that we can enjoy the free gifts of some other French recipes. For the others virtual bloggers,I strongly recommend the cake; it's soft and moist and the taste is great as if it had grated manioc in it.I've been enjoying following your blog. Cheerio.
Hello Juliette! While I was reading your entry we were having heavy rain. It was raining cats and dogs. Thankfully, it only lasted for half an hour. Then we looked out of the window and saw a beautiful rainbow. I think that it was the sign that the spring is here. The recipe sounds good. I will send it to my daughter who is living far away from me with her flatmates and she also needs some simple recipe. Juliette, I like your bravery to say to us that writing a blog is not as easy as people think. As a former blogger I know it very well. Sometimes I also wrote it for hours. Fortunately, my family was very patient. One day I finished my blog after midnight and I thought that I missed my daily entry. But there is a one hour time difference so I could send it on time. As February is right at the end you should make the most of these last few days. I am looking forward to reading your next entry and wish you lots of success in writing it. Bye for now,
Hello, Juliette. This is the first time of me to answer your blog. For a long time I never acess the Internet since one month ago. For me , your recipe as a French cake is very wonderful . I need to cook a cake on this day . So after I answer this blog . I will continue to make a cake from your recipe with my mother at home. At the last two days I must concentrate on my final examination. I feel so tired and interesting in any quite difficult subject. However it is strikes to me that this test woule be end up with good score , I hope that. With warm good wishes
Hello Juliette, The recipe sounds good. Actually I don´t eat cakes any more, but my daughters do. Yes of course not every weekend because of me, so Iĺl try to bake your cake very soon. Maybe on Saturday. I´m very curious how will it taste. Take care
