Goodbye everyone ! AU REVOIR !

FROM JULIETTE

Here we go, my virtual friend, this is my last blog before I'll pass it on another virtual friend.

It's been such a pleasure to write my thoughts and feelings and to get responses from around the world. I'll definitely keep reading other's students blog from time to time.
I really enjoyed your comments about your own work environment and specifically the one from Adriana from Brazil. She's a dentist and she described our day to day work with teeth. It was really fascinating. However, I could picture myself on the chair listening to the unpleasant sound of the dentist tolls and didn’t really enjoy it at the end.

Yesterday evening, I had an evening out with my colleagues because one of them is going on maternity leave. The party was held in an Indian restaurant and it was a little bit chaotic as in India I guess. Nevertheless, the food was delicious and the service quick. As we were 12 of us, we were setting in a special room and there was a giant plasma screen on the wall broadcasting India movies. I couldn't help watching it as it was just above our table and these movies are so entertaining, colourful and the actors dance all the time. I've notice that women and men dance together in a very flirty way but they never got to kiss even if the dances are very suggestive. My colleague who is Indian told me that it's part of their culture. How interesting! Another thing I've notice is that they nod their head very often but not as western people do from forward to backward but from right to left and it's apparently to let us know that they don't know the answer or simply don't want to say it. How disconcerting is this when you're not use to this cultural behaviour but apart from that, I had a very nice evening far from London.

Tomorrow, I also have another work party but not for the reason. Someone is leaving the BBC because her contract hasn't been renewed or I should say in order to avoid the metaphor, she's been sacked after 20 years of working for the BBC. How hard is that? The economic world is going through very tough time at the moment for employees. Especially within the BBC were they are "restructuring" it. The leitmotiv is More money for programmes and so, less people are needed apparently. From my point of view, I agree that restructuration is a good thing to stay dynamic and competitive on the global market but however it's also important for companies to bear in mind that human being are invaluable too. I believe Companies have got an universal responsibility towards us and must realise how important is the work labour and human creativity. As far as I'm concerned, countries will run better if the priority was the well-being of all of us, inhabitant of the planet.

Here we go, my virtual friend, that was my last thought shared with you.

What do you think about universal responsibility?

Take all good care of yourself

Well,I'm really happy to have you as my new virtual friend, however I have to be away for some days. Here in Brazil it's Carnival time and I'm going to the seaside. You know as I live in the centre of Brazil we die for the chance of feeling the sea breeze and getting some tan. I'm going to a sea village called Garopaba known as one of the paradise for surfers and young people and Argentinians, they love coing to the South of Brazil. Well on my return I be in touch again. Anyway, I hope you have a good time here , at the jaz club and in London. Cheerio,

It's very nice to have you here with us. You'll see you'll have some very regular readers, including myself. It must be a wonderful experience to go live in a foreign country. How did happened to you. The way you put it it looked like you had a very steady life back in France. I was curious to know what made you leave all that behind and go on this adventure. Do you intend to come back to France later or will you stay in London? I'm eager to know more about that. I wish I had the guts to do something like that. Be welcome Julliete. Best wishes from Brazil.

I am a student from Hong Kong and preparing for the A level examination. My ultimate professional goal is not becoming a journalist, but I do have a friend that thinks in the same way as yours. During her last summer vacation, she worked in South China Morning Post(a dominant English newspaper in Hong Kong) as a student reporter. She has had really a great time. Therefore, I understand how you enjoyed your work. Work Hard! ^^ Hope you and my friend dreams come true. And it's the lunar new year of China, so Gung Hei Fat Choi!(a chinese saying : hope you a bloosom year.)

Dear Juliette, I believe it must be very difficult to make a living in London. I have been to London a couple of times to visit my sister and I always found it extremely expensive. How did it come you moved there? I believe it must be very exciting to move to a foreign country. I would love to go to England or New Zealand for a while but as I've got a little daughter and a boyfriend who owns a company it isn't really easy to put this plan into action, but I hope some day I will have the opportunity to do so. Love to here more of your story. Sinje

Hello, Juliette! How are you? This is the first time I comment in this blog. I’m sure you notice many differences between France and England, as well as the difference in prices, and I like to know them. What do you miss of your native country? It’s nice to hear you say you enjoy being there; some people can’t stand be far from their family. Wish you all the very best!

it's 2.15am in viet nam, vietnamese are wellcomed a new year 2007,cities and provinces, people poured into the streets to ring in the New Year.Hanoians have gotten used to welcoming the New Year by going out to cultural centres and revelling in the streets rather than at staying home. Fresh flowers, art, flags and calendars were on sale by vendors everywhere.i wish i share my happily with u.Take care and love!

Hi Juliette, I think you began your blog with very interesting things.I`ve been living here in England for 5 months and my situation is not clear at all.I`d like to find a job here but unlike you I`m not sure about what I could do and this is a big problem for English people especially if you would like to do something you have never experienced. So at present I`m here as aupair, the cheapest way to improve my language skills I think, but I have to decide what to do and where to live in the next few months and how to use my Language and Literature graduation (Chinese)here.I know it will be hard, but it wouldn`t be easier in Italy so there we go. I`m looking forward reading something else about you. Take care

Welcome to our blog JULIETTE. I hope you enjoy every day blogging and telling us how it is being your daily life in England. Would July be in English the translation to your name? See you.

Hello Julliet, welcome to this space. I hope you reach your goal becoming a great journalist. My profession is completely different from this but I really feel atraction to this profession. I think the journalists are very lucky because they can read about everything they want. In my profession we have to concentrate more in relevant issues. I love to read the blogs from journalists from many countries and see different point of view. Sometimes I compaire one information with the same from different countries. So, you are french...One thing I am curious about french people is that your country is famous for the culinary art but the women are always slim. This is our main concern here...to be slim always. Could you please reveal the secrets? Now I have to rest to enjoy the carnival tonight. Have a nice weekend.

HI.. I’m Bappy from Bangladesh in south Asia. Actually I’m reading BBC both blogs in everyday. It’s my fast job in internet when I get chance to use internet. After that I do my others job. I think it is very good way to learn English or development skill in English. In our country, mostly we are using in our mother language Bangla in every place in every where without some office or official work. So here don’t have good chance to use English or developing English skill without some institute. So your understanding it’s very much difficult to learn proper English from here. I got chance to do work a foreigner in everyday morning. So I’m trying to practice with him by English. But sometime I face too much problem to speaking English with him. Sometimes the person asked to me about a new subject but in this time I’m unable to tell him proper word or proper English. So I’m trying to solve my problem. I think, I will able to do that with BBC blogs. Anyway, bye for today also welcome to JULIETTE our blogs. I think, we should get new idea from your life style. So please you have to tell us about you life style. Welcome to you Bappy

Bonjour ! Thank you for your taking over Juliette ! Indeed, I know what your talking about ! In fact, my difficulties come more from the grammar than from the accent. As far as I'm concerned, it's hard work to use the passive tenses which the English use.

Welcome Juliette! What is Bonjour mean? Could you tell me? I am sorry I do not know it. Happy Chinese New Year, everyone!^00^ From Helen

Hello Juliette! a warm welcome to BBC student blogger. It was a pleasure your first blog. I've been learning English for three years and it's very difficult for me, but in spite of this I enjoy studying English. Well, good luck to you. I'm looking forward to reading your next story.

Dear Juliette Hi! It's great to have you here as the student blogger for the next two weeks. I hope this will be a good opportunity for all of us to improve our English , as you seem to have a good command of English . Good Luck and keep up the great job! Katy / Iran

Hello Juliette! Welcome to our community! I would like to ask you why you left Switzerland. I know that many people leave their own home and move to England finding better living there. How long have you been thinking about leaving your home? I am looking forward to read your next entry. Best wishes!
