Chapter 1: Hello!!!
Hello Stephen:
My name is Federico, I am 25, I am from Peru, a country in South America. I live in Lima, which is the capital of Peru but I was born in Talavera, a little town in the south of Peru; where I have lived for eigthteen years.
I am living on Lima the most of my time nonetheless I always travell a lot for work.I am a Mine Engeenier, I have worked in a gold mine for two years and now I am working in another gold project.
I spend the mos of my time travelling and I like reading a lot, specially detective and fiction books, like G. K. Chesterton, Borges, Cortazar and Riveyro`s books. Also I like listening to music, and watching films. In the mornings I always ride my cycle, about 45 minutes, then I prepar my breakfast, some yogurt, toasts and jam and sometimes a healthy soup.
I live near the city center, in a little flat, I live alone, after have a breakfast, I have to go to work so I have to take a bus, I can not stand traffic in Lima, is very awful, I always get stuck for one hour at least. I used to go by bike, but since I have had an accident, I do not do it.
The public transport is very uncomfortable, specially in the mornings, there are a lot of little buses called "combis". These buses are very little, they have 20 siits as maximum but they always carry 30 o 35 people like a can of sardines.
I am in Ayacucho now, one of the oldests and most importants cities of Peru.
I am going to go to a little mine called Castrovirreyna, and I have to take the bus from here tomorrow early in the mornig, I will stay 4900 meters above the sea. Trip will take 4 hours, and I am going to stay two days. then I will come back to Lima.
Well, tomorrow, I will have much more time, so I will write more about me and my country`s life and as you said, December is a important month all over the world, here in Peru there will be particularly ways to celebrate Christmas and New Year so we will have a lot of things to tell us about that.
I am Looking forward to reading and hearing about you.
with best wishes.
Federico.

Hello Federico! Nice to meet you! I hope that you will enter a remote, exotic world for us. I am looking forward to reading about your day to day life, your profession, your hobbies... Good luck!
He Federico, A cute, tiny, Peruvian, wollen donkey finger puppet is looking at me while I’m writing this post. It’s a present from my colleague who was on expedition to Peru and brought a colourful collection of animal finger puppets. Those intense, joyful colours seem to be so characteristic as to leave no doubt of their origin. I know little about your country but enough to admire it. Actually I’m fascinating with the whole South America’s history and culture. Most of all I’m a faithful reader of the Latin American literature. As a student I could read Cortazar, Sabato, Borges endlessly, at present my favorite writer is Marquez. Most of all I like those his works which give us an impression we get involved in South American history, like ‘General in Labirynth” or ‘News of a Kidnapping’. So, I’m really happy to follow your blog. Hope you’ll give us a flavour of your country. Best,
Hi,nice to meet you.Your country and your job arouse my interest in reading the blog.I am looking forward to getting more information about you and Peru.
Hi Frederico, First of all I want to welcome you to our blogging community, I'm one of the usual bloggers, always taking a peep at what you, student blogger, write and adding some comments. Your name is special for me cause my youngest son is called Frederico and his nickname is Freddy.Do you have a nickname? You look friendly and it seems you have a touch of Indian blood. I'm not far from you geographically speaking. I live in the centre of Brazil, not that far from Acre which is close to Peru.My dream is to visit Machui Puchi( I guess it's been wrongly spelled).I love Peruvian music. It is quite melancolic and poingnant.Your job must be really exciting and I guess it requires a lot of physical training to cope with the lack of oxigen. Do you have to munch cocaine leaves to cope with it? What is your work as a mining engineer? I guess you are not responsible for digging gold ,are you? Well this blog will be really instructive. I'm curious to know about your daily routine in the mine.By the way, it's not very unsual to bump into Peruvians in my country. I happen to have a close Peruvian friend, she is warm, friendly and full of life, a real character. Are you all like that?
