Chapter 9. The country-house.
Hello there.
As soon as I found some interest to my country-house I've decided to tell you some details of it.

Still there is lots of job there in summer-time. The grass grows at a very fast pace. So I usualy spend one of two weekend days for mowing the lawn.
And it's not as just as easy as might seem from the first sight. Some sorts of plants are rather poisonous so I need to be well-protected while the process. Look at me! Don't I look like an astronaut? Taking into account that it's usually hot in that period you could imagine how I feel. In addition to the mowing there are several other house chores. And speaking 'several' I actually mean unlimited number. :) Meanwhile my wife usualy does gardening. She cultivates useful plants like apple trees, berry bushes, flowers and vegetables. But she does it not for profit but for pleasure. As soon as quantity of doings is overwhelming we don't treat them seriously and try to do only those things that are not too boring. Of course, sometimes our boys help us but most the time it's difficult to persuade them to do something useful and they just mess around and enjoy the life.
Despite all those problems we face with being at the place is lovely. Quiet and still surroundings (in comparison to the town) and fresh air make living there healthy and pleasant. The house is a handy base for picking up mushrooms and berries, fishing, making a barbecue (we use to call it 'shashlik') etc. We like the place, it really helps us to refresh our forces.
Bye for now.

What a nice country house you have Alex. I would love to have one for my family in the future to spend some weekends and relax from the stress of the week. Meanwhile I am strugling with the mortage and bills of my house and at this moment is impossible to have another one. Maybe in some years ahead things are different and I will be able to afford a country house like yours.
Hi everybody from around the world. How great to be in touch with some of you again like Tricia, Diema, Anita and to meet new people as well. Alex, I want to welcome you( with a lot of delay I must admit) to our sharing and caring blogging business. It took me some minutes to catch up with the latest news. And I must say that I sympathise with the distressing experience you had. Fortunately, I've never had such an experience but I know what it's like to have one, because this kind of practice is quite common in Brazil. And what a lovely countryhouse you have.It has its character and it looks really charming!!! I fancied it.I love the countryside and being in touch with nature. I guess it's because I was brought up on a farm and those were really memorable days!! I could sense, by reading all your entries, that you feel happier now under this new regime as you have more resting days, more variety in shops.Am I right? Here in Brazil we are fond of holidays, every special event is used as an excuse for a day off and to have parties. We've just invented a new one to honour the negroes of our country (who actually deserve it), it's called "the day of negro consciouness" and it's celebrated on November 21.So pretty soon, as you can see,we will be having another "shashlik", known here as 'churrrasco'.People from the south, the gauchos, have the reputation of being the experts at churrasco!!! And I must say that they are unbeatable!!!! Yummy!!!! Cheerio Monica
Hi, your country-house looks very nice. My parents have got one too; our house stay in the north of my state Gois, and my state stay in the middle of my country Brazil. We don't called country-house, the name used is "rancho" in Portuguese, I think in English would be cottage, but I'm not sure. Our "cottage" is surrounded by the lake "Serra da Mesa" there are uncountable fishes and I love to go there.
Hi Alex! I am glad that you are interested in my comments. Do not think that I am a woman who is keen on luxury goods or on expensive things. I am an ordinary village person who likes simple things and everything that is made by hand. Your cottage is wonderful, like in the tales. As I see in the picture it is a wooden summer house that is surrounded by trees quite far away from the noise of the city in a quiet environment. My father also has a similar but not wooden lodge next to the river Danube which is used mainly by my elder brother who lives in a big city in a seven-storey block of flats. Their flat is on the seventh floor. His children enjoy running up and down on the grass, fishing and swimming in the nearby lake. We seldom go there because we are occupied by work around our own house. I am happy that your wife also has green fingers.
Hi Alex, I like your house anyway:)
That is very interesting to me.I admire you very much because you know that I always hope I can be possession of a countryside house like that.
A simple house located in a great area north Europe, interesting thing to blog. Green, relaxing, fresh air and a remote place, how romantic. It's just the ideal circumstances for a honeymoon even hough it may not be suitable for a needy bride it would be very comfortable for a mean man. Besides, solitude I really miss that, a moment of peace, listening to nature with everything it has, Ahh. To all my friends all around the world who are interested in nature, just try look after countrysides and forests, because it's the only place where mean men can save money.
Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
