Chapter 7. Bad news.
We got robbed!
We've got a house in a countryside. It's fifty kilometers away from the town. My family lives there in summer-time, when it's hot and stuffy and dusty in the town. It's lovely there. I could tell you more about it later if you are interested. Unfortunately, the neighbourhood is unpleasant. There are lots of rubbish people around there. They ramble here and there instantly drunk, dirty and stinking. There is little job in the countryside and all they intents are to steal something, sell it and get drunk again. Of course, houses like ours are good goal for them to get in for during the winter season the houses are unguarded.
So, sometimes ago I got a sign that a window of my house was broken. The neighbour whose life is still decent gave me that sign. And I had to get there to fix it. It's not so easy, actually, to get there now. For instance I walked on my feet for about five kilometers and thanks goodness the weather was sunny though cold.
The burglars haven't took much. So I just fixed the window and got back home. It took me for a half of the day yesterday.
It's already for the third time in this year. When it was for the first time we called the police. That time some expensive things were stolen. The police came and found the goods. It's pretty unusual but we had some suspects. Since that we don't keep anything important in the house. As a consequence, this time nothing significant was taken away. Nevertheless it's just troublesome and I need a little bit time to recover.
Hope tomorrow will be better.

I am really sorry to read your news Alex. I’m not surprised that you were annoyed at that incident. I would like to say ‘Keep your chin up!’ and I hope you are feeling a little better soon. Unfortunately, there are people everywhere whose behaviour is bad. In my country we also struggle with unemployment and lots of unemployed people do the same thing you mentioned, they ramble without a goal, they often get fuddled and they steal. Of course, it is not typical of everybody. Bye for now.
Hi,I have to say that your experiences of that contriside is really...interesting! I don't think that will be as bad as you told us though. Country-born and country-bred, I extremely enjoy its air and envir. As I have moved to Quang Ngai city, I have chance to compare city life and country life. At my countryside, people are so friendly 'n kins 'n nice and they always greet me whenever I meet them. They care each other. In my new city, people are not as friendly as in my countryside. Also, you said that the neighborhood living in your countryside is by no means pleasant. I find it surprising. As for me, countryside is always in my deep heart with the most lovely recollection: the small houses, the ranges of green trees, the blue sky, the white cloud and even the sparkle stars... I always think of the honest people there. Though they have to work hard, looking deep into their eyes, I can see a wide world whose everything is pink and green. Countryside still has something to remember and think of, why didn't you tell us more about your good memory? Yeah, wish your "tomorow" good luck, Alex!
i sympathize you with that sad event, cause my countryhouse was robbed more than twice and i remember that nasty feeling that someone was in your room and so on.. the only solution we've found were the bars. and we don't leave technics there for winter season also. ps tomorrow definitely will be better=)
Hello Alex I am in my fifties. I`ve read your blog and impatiently waited Tricia`s comment on "Bad news". I am so sorry and understand your family feelings. Two years ago I had the same experience and I realise what you say is understandable. It may be difficult for other people to imagine such an unpleasant event. I do like Tricia`s comments. I like how Tricia reformulated this text. I spotted in your text word "rubbish people" and I knew that this word take Tricia`s first thought and attention. It could be very good for everyone try never use the word "rubbish" with human and other live creatures. I am sure that you would have written your blog much better if you have not been extremely upset after visiting your summer house at the weekend. All the best, Alex. I am sure you solve the problem with your summer-house.
Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
