Life is above everything
I am never interested in politics. But this news is so shocked me that I’d like to write something. If I am wrong, please forgive my shallowness. And I also welcome all sharp and direct criticizes.
I read this news 2 or 3 days ago on our local newspaper. It is about an English soldier who committed suicide because he didn’t want to go Iraq battle field. His army leader told him that he should shoot the children on street since they may carry the bomb. However, this soldier felt guilty about that so he committed suicide.
I feel so sorry about him if this news is true. I think he has independent mind though his action would hurt lots of people’s feelings especially his parents’.
I still remember when our English teacher asked us, “Who do you admire best? And why?” I answered, “the Queen Victoria because she made the UK the strongest country during her time.” Then my teacher who comes from the UK told us, “We feel ashamed about this history because we led lots of hurt to other countries.”
Now if someone asks me the same question, I think I will say Gandhi. He created the peaceful way to solve the problems. He freed the black people hut don’t hurt the white people. He is a great leader.
Some people have successful careers. They may start from very low status but get fame, money and high place in their late lives. But if what they had done makes other people more painful, their successes are meaningless.
Today I went shopping and bought lots of nice shoes and clothes. When I took bus I found the night was really beautiful so I took this picture.
I wish our world would be more peaceful, so people all over the world can enjoy the quiet and beautiful night!
Best wishes!

thoughtful way of thinking In my opinion your inputs are very thoughtful and profound in meaning
hello genni please read the para where you described gandhi once again indeed he was a peace loving great leader.but the problems he solved were of freedom movement in india.I think that what you are referring as freeing black people without hurting white people is about southafrica
hi!Jenny, i've been busy to read your blogs since i came back from the holiday.they gave me a great pleasure as usual.thanks for that and the beaufiful picture. there were so many great people in the past and there are lots of powerful people and great leaders who are given a big admiration by normal people.for me my mother is a superb person and i always admire her all the time.she always gives me wonderful advice and teaches me how to ger out of the dark days of my life. so long! see you again,
I'm very glad to see your blog published at this site,I'm very proud of you,for I'm a chinese girl too.Your English is very good,I even doubt if you are major in English:)The news also shocked me.The english soldier is a hero in my mind. The war is indeed a terrible thing. It not only makes many people lost their lives, but also compelled people to kill others.I love peace!!!!
I admire YuanLongping the best, because he make so many people not hungry any more! I also admire the person like you, because your english is so good .
Your presentation is so good for everybody.I also admire Ghandi because of his mind & carrer.Your statement is so nice in my opinion.
Hi Jenny, You know, this is a problem of our times and personally I think, I was here a long ago and it will be here for ever. You don’t need to be interested in politics, but politicians and their decisions will influence your live if you want it or no. The suicide you described could be caused by morale conflict or if you like it could be a reason of wrong politics. I really don’t know if the guy committed suicide because he was told to kill children…..maybe yes, or maybe he was only too scared of war, maybe he heart about soldiers who died there. Personally I consider suicide for an act of cowardice. It is not a solution and I am sure there are other ways how to solve interpersonal conflicts. Second thing, I am not persuaded he got a direct order to shoot children – who may carry a bomb; you know it is a difference may and carry. And killing civilians even in the war is still considered as an act of murder Non combatants could be involved in fighting only if they are armed …..and honestly in a case the child will carry a bomb, mine or whatever and he or she would try to kill you, what would you do????? I think, protect myself. In this case it means to kill the child. BTW – nice picture Take care
Hi Jenny, I might have done the same if I were the soldier you told about. I always try to see the other side when I think and do something. So I'm sometimes indecisive and inefficient, but that's life. There is a small museum of a poet and soldier in Kochi prefecture, Japan. He made lots of anti-war poems and leaflets, telling to understand Korean and Chinese people. He was later put into a military prison and later into a mental hospital, where he died young. I admire a person like him who even contradicted his own government about what he believe to be right.
Hello, Jenni. I think it is a very terrible story about the soldier. But for my sorry the history of war has many more terrible things. I hope oneday people will getting wiser and all these stories will leaved in the past.
Hi Jenny, today , my country -Vietnam celebrates Nation Day (Sept. 2nd). Vietnam has a sad history with long wars in the past. The new generation vietnamese is always reminded the glorious revolutionary tradition of the nation. Thus, being born in peace period, I never forget my country's history and value of independence and freedom. War is human's biggest crime. A person who was born has his droit to live his own life. Why we don't stop meaningless wars?
