How to greet
When I meet friends, I usually smile, nod, or say “hello”. We don’t neither kiss nor hug our friends, except we are lovers. Once my close friend’s family traveled to our city from the USA, I treated them in a restaurant. After eating when we said goodbye, my friend’s parents hugged me and our faces touched. This is the only time I greet people according western etiquette. I like this forms. They make people closer and make me feel warm.
Recently I watched Korean dramas on the telly. The girls bows to their friends who drive them home when they say good-bye to each other. We don’t bow in our common life. Those girls seem really polite. Do the people often bow in your country?
Actually, it is easy to preserve duck eggs if you have the pot. First, you should wash them and have the water on the eggs evaporate until there is no water on eggs; Next, you boil water with lots of salt and seasoning and let them cool to the room temperature; Than, you put all eggs and cooled seasoning water into the pot which should be clean and dry. You also should make sure there is enough seasoning water to keep all eggs in it. Final, you cover the pot with the bowl upside down. And pour some clean water on the top edge, which will separate the inner air from outer air. After 12-15 days they will be done! During this time you should clean the edge and add some water. The sold preserved eggs have no seasoning in them. I wish you could taste the eggs I made!
“I topped the electricity card ”---I wanted to say I pay the electricity bill before I used it. They store the amount of electricity I bought to the IC card. After it was used up, I top(buy) the electricity again. It may be wrong.

Hi Jenny, this is my "first hallo" to you :-) I have to admit I dont feel comfortable when people kiss and hug each other when they meet. I guess it is about "personal space" and it is different for each person. Kissing on the cheek (or just touching cheek) is common in some parts of my country. Shaking hands is the ordinary way of greeting, but not so commone between friends or family. We do not bow, anyway I find this Japanese habit very nice. Generally, I love politeness. Have a great time! Eva
I forgot to say Shaking hands is also the ordinary way of greeting in our country, too
Hi Jenny, in my country it is normal to kiss and hug each other. When boys meet girls they use to introduce themselves kissing faces. Even in workplace, my boss for example, she use to say "good morning" kissing my face. In my oipinion it is not "personal space" invasion but a way to show how friendly you are.
