the smoking travel in China
In this morning I called the telephone company and an engineer told me to reinstall the ADSL drive. I did so and then I was able to access to the internet. Later I found I had left the connecting wire ( that connects my mp3 player with a computer ) in the internet café, so I went there to get it back. Fortunately the casher kept it for me.
Recently it is hot. Cooking in the hot summer is not a pleasant work. Every time after cooking I take a shower. My friend told me she would like to fix an air conditioner in her kitchen. It is a good idea, though it will waste lots of energy. Our city always lacks electricity and water in the summer. I was surprised when I heard some governments encourage people use more electricity. We always are told to save resources.
A western English teacher told me an interesting phenomenon---the smoking travel in China. It means that lots of foreign English teachers who don’t smoke or smoke occasionally in their own countries do smoke often in China. When they come back to their country, they stop smoking again. That is because cigarettes are much cheaper in China. He thinks China government levies too less tax on tobacco industry. Uk government levies heavier tax on tobacco industry. It offers free health care for it’s citizens, so it pays more attentions to the bad habits that lead diseases. Government decisions profoundly influence people’s behaviors.This teacher is from USA. He has also been to Japan, Korean and Europe. Traveling makes people wise. Do you agree?

Hi Jenny, I was very surprised with Ur story about English teachers' smoking phenomenon. Know why? It's coz I don't understand how people can smoke China cigarettes??? The matter is I'm a casino croupier and we have a lot of players from China in our casino. While they're playing they're smoking. And it's awful!!! All our casino dealers non-smokers and even smokers say their cigarettes have awful smell. most people can't stand it. I'm smoker myself and I can't stand it too. Maybe U have very specific cigarettes here in China. Sorry me for such words but I can't help saying it.

hi Jenny, well done you!!!!!!!! you installed the ADSL drive successfully.the government have spent lots of money on encouraging people not to smoke, and many public places are banned smoking like pups and restuarants in england and they try to bring in legislation which docters have the right to refuse to treat patients who smoke a lot and not give up smoking during treatments. as a result many people try to cut off smoking. do many young people smoke in China? have a fantastic weekend and see you soon!
Hi Jenny ! I do agree agre that traveling makes people wiser because it broadens our minds. I didn't know that cigarettes were very cheap in China! Here in Argentina a lot of people smoke (including youngsters). I don't smoke.... I think it's an unhealthy habit. See ya Jenny !
thank you for your interesting observation.I wonder if chinese people smoke much or not although the cigarette price is cheep in chine.Unfortunately,%99 of turkish adult and young people (over age14)smoke although a box of cigarette is so expensive and most of people are poor.
Hey its very interesting to know that the english langauge teacher who come from out of China, often smoke in china. well by proffession I'm a Journalist but but I don't think I'm doing journalism because I work in a very big media house of India but I'm not doing reporting rather i'm working on desk that means i'm working only in the office, not going outside to collect stories. China is a developing country with large population,compare with some developed countries we are facing with many difficulties need to be solved ,we have our own pressure,we also have our own road to go.why some people like to use China to say things?use your head! do you really know the situation of China?
Yes, this is a bad habit from your country. Smoking may cause many infection. The most bad habit in our country is chew a quid of betel. The people who chew a quid of betel spit out betel spittle on the road.

Listening to audios cannot essentially revise your speaking English - I learn this from my personal experience - neither can talking with native speakers merely. You are right when you said goverment decisions influence peoples behaviors, and such decisions make it clear enough to know if the goverment really care about their citizens or NOT. that's the part that had interested me..
i aggree with you taht ciggarets in china are cheap and influence even non smoker to smoke,i have been travelling to different parts of china and i realized that in every restaurant or cafe there are freee boxes of ciggarets someone can smoke while waiting for the dishes he or she orders,not only ciggarets but also the price of beer exceeds the price of drinking water.as a foreign student here in china i can see that i wont escape from smoking and drinking,because all my friends smoke and drink,hope something can be done to to reduce these to normal because its too much.thanks for saying it out

Thank you Jenny you increas my knowledge that cigaretes are much cheaper in china and there less tax on tobacco. I personally hate smoking and drink, because there are no benifit to smoke or drink but count loss.
i am completly agree whith you that travil makes us wise it is like that when we are chiled we just thought about our family space and just we know about our father and mother and then when we are getting out of our house we know about other people whatsoever we travel to other comunity we will have getten more and more experience from other people , i thing all the results which human gained to day are at the result of excretion and tour to the other countries it is not possible that every person make some some thing from its own if it was like this every one can detect many things which now it is not like this and our duty is to bring changes to the others detections and improve them .thanks
